Future Electronics Promotes Programmable USB Type-C Controllers with PD from Fairchild

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) June 9, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components founded in 1968 by Robert Miller, recently announced immediate shipping availability of Fairchild’s FUSB302 programmable USB Type-C controllers with PD.

The FUSB302 USB Type-C controller from Fairchild targets systems looking to implement a DRP/SRC/SNK USB Type-C connector with low amount of programmability. The FUSB302 enables the USB Type-C detection including attach, and orientation.

Fairchild’s FUSB302 integrates the physical layer of the USB BMC power delivery protocol to allow up to 100W of power and role swap. The BMC PD block enables full support for alternative interfaces of the Type-C specification. Reference code is available for the FUSB302 for easy implementation of Type-C and USB BMC power delivery protocol across several embedded controller platforms.

The FUS302 features dual-role functionality with autonomous DRP toggle, is software configurable either as a dedicated host, dedicated device, or dual role, and integrates CCx to VCONN switch with overcorrect limiting for powering USB3.1 full featured cables.

In addition, the FUS302 provides dead battery support, has 25μA stand-by current, and the ability to connect as either a host or a device. Available in 9-Ball WLCSP and 14-lead MLP packages, Fairchild’s FUS302 can be ordered with immediate shipping from Future Electronics.

Future Electronics Promotes Fairchild’s Dual Cool MOSFET Packaging Technology

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) February 9, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently announced immediate availability of Fairchild’s Dual Cool™ MOSFET packaging technology.

Fairchild’s Dual Cool™ MOSFET packaging technology provides both bottom- and top-side cooling in the industry standard PQFN package, offering performance flexibility for designers. With enhanced dual-path thermal performance and improved parasitics over its wire-bonded predecessors, the use of a heat sink provides even more impressive results. Lab testing demonstrates that when a heat sink is used with Dual Cool package technology, synchronous buck converters deliver higher output current and increased power density. With Fairchild’s trench silicon technology, Dual Cool packaging proves to be a clear leader both in power density and thermal performance. Dual Cool solutions are lead-free, RoHS-compliant, and come in 3.3 x 3.3, 5 x 6, and 8 x 8 PQFN packages.

Typical applications for Faichild’s Dual Cool MOSFET packaging technology include Point of Load (POL) synchronous-buck conversion, servers, telecommunications, routing, and switching.
