Phoenix, AZ, June 13, 2013 – Deanne DeMarco’s special guest for her high-energy radio show is one of the most high-profile businesswomen in America—Barbara Corcoran of ABC’s hit TV show, “Shark Tank.”

Barbara Corcoran’s credentials include straight D’s in high school and college and twenty jobs by the time she turned twenty-three. It was her next job that would make her one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the country when she took a $1,000 loan to start The Corcoran Group. She parlayed the loan into a multi-billion-dollar business, the biggest real estate empire in New York.

As one of the “Sharks” on “Shark Tank,” Barbara has ponied up her own money and invested in more than a dozen businesses, competing to make those deals for all to see, then shepherding them to success.

Her newest book, “Shark Tales: How I Turned $1,000 Into a Billion Dollar Business,” takes you behind the scenes of her life and business and her ‘seen on TV’ venture capitalism. Her previous best-seller was titled, “If You Don’t Have Big Breasts, Put Ribbons on Your Pigtails: And Other Lessons I Learned from My Mother.”

Barbara is famously brash and blunt, bold and courageous, and a brilliant identifier of opportunity and talent that is often invisible to others.

Deanne DeMarco asks Barbara about the early days of her career and gets her best advice for starting, growing, and expanding businesses, and converting ideas and “dreams” into fortunes. She seeks for Barbara’s advice for building a personal brand and the importance of bringing fun into the business day. And, of course, she gets Barbara to reveal some “Shark Tank” behind the scenes stories.

Deanne DeMarco, who has 20 successful years as a business coach, speech coach and keynote speaker ( http://www.Breaking-Boundaries.com) , said, “Each week I interview extraordinary and inspiring women who may not be household names but are business and entrepreneurial rising stars. For this show I’m delighted to have one of the best-known businesswomen in America share time with me and my audience.”

This week she talks about coaching. What is it? What are the benefits? What’s the difference between coaching, mentoring, training and counseling? How do you know if you need a coach? And much, much more—including the two-minute business coaching challenge, and the two-minute personal coaching challenge.

Deanne Demarco’s Special Guests: The Waitress who Became a Multi-Million Dollar CEO and “The World’s Greatest Procrastinator”

Rags to riches CEO Carolyn Gable and Rita Emmett, the “World’s Greatest Procrastinator,” are the special guests on the next edition of Deanne DeMarco’s radio show. The program, “Today’s Inspiring Women,” airs noon Pacific on Thursday on the VoiceAmerica Empowerment Network.

Phoenix, AZ, June 08, 2013 – Deanne DeMarco continues her ground-breaking radio series with two high-powered guests: the female CEO of a multi-million dollar trucking company and a woman who literally wrote the book on procrastination.

Carolyn Gable, a single mother of seven with an unbelievable rags to riches story, and Rita Emmett, best-selling author and “recovering procrastinator” are featured on next Thursday’s episode of Deanne DeMarco’s entertaining, informative and inspiring program, “Today’s Inspiring Women.” The weekly hour-long show airs at 12 noon Pacific on the VoiceAmerica Empowerment Radio network.

Today Carolyn Gable is President and CEO of New Age Transportation, Distribution & Warehousing Inc. It’s a $30 million a year enterprise with 85,000 square feet of warehousing in Lake Zurich, Illinois. It’s a far cry from her first long-term job, working as a waitress for more than a decade. When the restaurant closed for renovations Carolyn was spurred to move on when, with two small children to support. Her new position as a customer service representative at a freight company led a year later to a job in sales and the beginning of a dream.

When the freight industry was deregulated Carolyn took a gigantic risk, starting her own freight company at her kitchen table. Recognizing that a new age was dawning in the trucking business she developed innovative ways to lower costs, track freight and offer excellent customer service. Carolyn credits her years as a waitress for giving her the necessary skills and she even wrote a book called “Everything I Know as a CEO I Learned as a Waitress.” Carolyn, who has received numerous awards for her business and philanthropic achievements, serves on the Fetzer Advisory Council on Business Professions and is the founder of Expect a Miracle, a foundation to support and encourage single mothers.

Deanne DeMarco’s second guest, Rita Emmett, is a professional speaker and author who describes herself as a “recovering procrastinator.” Her first book, “The Procrastinator’s Handbook” sold over 100,000 copies in its first year and has been published in 32 countries. Katie Couric is among the 300 plus interviewers who have questioned Rita about her successful strategies and how she changed from being the self-declared “World’s Greatest Procrastinator.”

Rita says that she was able to get rid of her ‘putting off habit’ and that she can help anyone do the same. Once you break the procrastination habit, she says, you’ll not only get more done and start doing some of the things you have been hoping to do, you will also feel more energized. In her book, Rita gives comprehensive advice on identifying the behavioral styles and patterns procrastinators use for putting things off; applying proven anti-procrastination tips and techniques for achieving goals; and developing strategies to move forward when stuck or when reverting to old procrastination patterns. Rita has also written books on clutter and stress and, in total, has sold 360,000 books worldwide.

Deanne DeMarco, who has 20 successful years as a business coach, professional speaker and management trainer , said, “Each week on the show I interview extraordinary and inspiring women who may not yet be household names but are business and entrepreneurial rising stars or have solid, practical advice for my audience. Carolyn’s personal achievements are truly inspirational and her principles for success can be applied to any business. Rita taps into a subject that affects so many women. So if you’re a procrastinator and want to change you can’t put off listening to the show.”

Deanne DeMarco herself has used her innovative strategies—drawn from successful experiences as a scientist, college instructor, management trainer, Fortune 500 manager, author and entrepreneur—to help business executives and individuals break through personal and career roadblocks.

Deanne Demarco’s Show Features Brushes with Death and Life-Changing Leadership

Host Deanne DeMarco interviews Kelly Standing, whose near-death experiences turned into a life-affirming adventure, and Dr. Patricia Arredondo, an inspiring multicultural counselor and women’s advocate. DeMarco’s show, “Today’s Inspiring Women,” airs noon Pacific on Thursday on the VoiceAmerica Empowerment Network.

Hillside, IL, May 19, 2013 – One woman has turned a lifetime of near-death experiences into an amazingly positive outlook on life. Another has spent her life as a passionate multicultural counselor, social justice advocate and promoter of women’s leadership.

You’ll be able to hear the remarkable and inspiring stories of these two women, Kelly Standing and Dr. Patricia Arredondo, on the next episode of Deanne DeMarco’s high-energy and info-packed radio show, “Today’s Inspiring Women.”

Both women are guests next Thursday, May 23, during Deanne DeMarco’s weekly hour-long program on the VoiceAmerica Empowerment Radio network.

The word “extraordinary” doesn’t begin to cover Kelly Standing’s life which she reveals in her memoir, “I’M STILL STANDING: How One Woman’s Brushes with Death Taught Her How To Live.”

The brushes with death? Hanged from a tree by a childhood bully. Hit by a car. Struck by lightning. Removal of a major organ (which contrary to medical precedent actually grew back). And on top of all that—four of her co-workers were brutally murdered. Learning how to live? Kelly has traveled the globe; ranked among the top nine public speakers in the world out of 25,000 contestants and 180,000 Toastmasters; served as student chaplain to criminal youth; worked as a hospital chaplain in a Level-One trauma center; and now runs her own company, STANDING Media, focusing on individuals and organizations who want to rally around change and adversity.

Deanne DeMarco, who has twenty successful years as a career coach and entrepreneur, said, “Kelly’s brushes with death have given her an uncommonly positive, even fearless attitude. She calls it a ‘Recipe for Resilience.’ She shares it in her book and I’m thrilled she will be sharing it with my audience.”

Dr. Patricia Arredondo is President of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP), Chicago Campus. She joined the school in February after senior administrative roles with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Arizona State University. Formerly, she created and led a Boston-based organizational consulting company for 14 years.

Author of more than 100 articles, book chapters and training videos, Patricia has an extensive scholarship record with a focus on multicultural counseling and women’s leadership. Her contributions in her field have been acknowledged with numerous accolades including the “Living Legend” award from the American Counseling Association (ACA) and Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association (APA) Division 45. She is the 2013 recipient of the prestigious Henry Tomes Award for Distinguished Lifetime Contributions to the Advancement of Ethnic Minority Interests.

DeMarco said, “I will be asking Patricia about her emphasis on the need for women, especially minority women, to get a great education. Her main message is to ‘prepare,’ ‘plan’ and be ready to move when opportunities presents themselves.”

Deanne Demarco’s Show Features Rags to Riches Entrepreneur and First Female Firefighter

Host Deanne DeMarco interviews special guests entrepreneur and author, Vonda White, and ground-breaking female firefighter, Karen Moulder, on Thursday’s episode of “Today’s Inspiring Women.” Noon Pacific on VoiceAmerica Empowerment Network.

Hillside, IL, May 13, 2013 – Two extraordinary guests are lined up for the next episode of Deanne DeMarco’s fast-paced radio show “Today’s Inspiring Women.”

First up will be award-winning business entrepreneur and author, Vonda White, who will share her remarkable life story from her days as a food stamp child. The second guest is an equally as motivating role model for women—mother of five, Karen Moulder, who was the first female firefighter in Brownsville, Texas.

Both women are slated to appear next Thursday, May 16, during Deanne DeMarco’s weekly hour-long program on the VoiceAmerica Empowerment Radio network.

Vonda White, founder and CEO of Collegiate Risk Management, a company providing health and accident insurance to thousands of students nationwide, has received numerous awards for her business achievements. She is author of “Success Against The Odds” and has hosted her own radio show called “Let’s Talk Success.”

Vonda’s life today is a far cry from her childhood, raised by a divorced mom who had to accept welfare and food stamps. Young Vonda’s contribution to the family finances was collecting and redeeming empty soda cans. As a teenager—at her third attempt—she won the Idaho state beauty pageant. The triumph came with college tuition and the beginning of a new life which led her into a record-setting insurance sales career and the launch of her own business while six months pregnant.

Deanne DeMarco, who has twenty successful years as a career coach and entrepreneur, said, “From her childhood Vonda learned first-hand the power of persistence, self-image and goal-setting. I will be asking her for her inspiring insights so she can help all of my listeners.”

Karen Moulder entered a man’s world when few women did so. A lifetime of breaking personal and professional barriers was epitomized by her getting hired in 1983 as the first female member of the Brownsville, Texas Fire Department. She says that her tomboyish nature and single mother status led her to this fascinating and dangerous career which lasted 10 years.

A serious car accident brought Karen’s life as a firefighter to an end but launched her in a new direction. She went back to college and majored in business. After college she managed a physician’s office and obtained her certification in medical billing. Subsequently, she moved to Massachusetts and started her own medical billing company. Karen wrote the book “Burning Barriers” to share her life story and encourage other women to pursue their dreams.

DeMarco said, “Karen spent years protecting lives and property and educating the public on fire safety. She is a true trail-blazer and has an inspiring story.”

Deanne DeMarco herself has used her innovative strategies—drawn from successful experiences as a scientist, college instructor, management trainer, Fortune 500 manager, author and entrepreneur—to help business executives and individuals break through personal and career roadblocks. Each week she interviews extraordinary and inspiring women who may not yet be household names but are business and entrepreneurial rising stars.

For her opening program, Deanne takes the microphone herself to discuss the all-important issue of communications for building successful relationships not only in your business life with clients, colleagues and employees, but also in your personal life. She says that, although there are many different personality types, communication style boils down to four major behavioral approaches. These were first identified two thousand years ago by Hippocrates and popularized in the modern age by Harvard-trained psychologist Dr. William Marston.

What are they? How can you use them to communicate more effectively? How do you take charge and keep your communication style in sync?
