Zevrix Updates BatchOutput Server for InDesign, Improves Hotfolder Setup

Zevrix Solutions announces BatchOutput Server 4.6.3, a feature update to its output workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. BatchOutput Server completely automates InDesign output workflow by processing files from hotfolders. The software offloads printing and exporting to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the output process. The new update allows users to reset location of output folder with a click of a button helping save time and avoid redundant steps.

Toronto (ON), Canada, December 14, 2010 — Zevrix Solutions today released BatchOutput Server 4.6.3, a feature update to its powerful output workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Originally developed for a major magazine publisher in the United States to free up their operator computers from outputting InDesign files, the software automates InDesign workflow by processing files from hotfolders. The software offloads printing and exporting to PDF and PostScript to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the output process.

The new update was released as a result of user feedback following Zevrix policy to implement customer requests as quickly as possible. It includes only one but important new feature which allows users to reset location of output folder to its default value with just a click of a button, helping save time and avoid redundant steps.

“BatchOutput Server is an extremely useful utility for a busy production facility or advertising agency”, writes David Creamer in Layers magazine, “It can save lots of time – which equates to money.”

BatchOutput Server runs on a standalone Macintosh system that has InDesign installed. Under BatchOutput Server workflow, production artists and prepress operators simply submit InDesign files to hotfolders that reside on the network. BatchOutput Server automatically outputs the files from its dedicated station using hotfolder settings, and will auto-activate document fonts as well. Operator workstations will never again be tied up by the output process. The workflow also ensures that correct output settings will be always used.

BatchOutput Server offers the following major features and benefits:
-Process InDesign files automatically from hotfolders
-Export files as single pages
-Update modified links automatically
-Assign complex variable output file names
-Auto-activate document fonts
-Automatic e-mail notifications of process stages and errors
-Detailed processing logs and visual file tracking
-Easy to install and set up

BatchOutput is also available in a single user version to automate printing and exporting from InDesign on individual stations.

Pricing and Availability:
BatchOutput Server can be purchased from Zevrix web site for US$699.95, as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. The update is free for licensed users. BatchOutput Server is a Universal Binary, runs on Mac OS X 10.4.2-10.6 and works with Adobe InDesign CS2-CS5.

Zevrix Solutions announces BatchOutput 3.9.10, a maintenance update to its popular professional solution to automate printing, exporting and post-processing from Adobe InDesign. Developed originally for a major ad agency in Canada, BatchOutput offers output as single pages, link auto-update, PDF preflighting, variable file names, file delivery and other workflow automation solutions. The new update improves PDF preflight options and offers enhanced support for multiple versions of InDesign.

Toronto (ON), Canada, December 09, 2010 — Zevrix Solutions today announces BatchOutput 3.9.10, a maintenance update to its popular professional solution to automate printing, exporting and post-processing from Adobe InDesign. Developed originally for one of the largest ad agencies in Canada to boost productivity of its prepress department, BatchOutput automates and simplifies workflow of printers, service providers and publishing houses.

The new update improves reliability of PDF preflighting through better checking of Acrobat related software components. The update also offers enhanced multi-version support engine that allows users to install the same copy of BatchOutput with multiple versions of InDesign.

BatchOutput is more than just a plug-in – it’s a workflow solution that automates, streamlines and simplifies output tasks, whether it’s hundreds of files or a single document. Users only need to select the files and adjust the settings, and the rest will be done automatically. For example, users can let BatchOutput work while they’re on a lunch break, or leave it working overnight to output hundreds of documents – and the job will be done when they return in the morning.

As Tami Stodghill wrote in X-Ray magazine, “The complete automation hooked me – BatchOutput lets you work after hours without lifting a finger.”

BatchOutput supports printing as well as exporting to PDF, PostScript, EPS, Flash, INX, IDML and various image formats. It offers the following powerful key capabilities:

* Print and export hundreds of InDesign files with a single click.
* Output files as single pages.
* Update links automatically.
* Assign complex variable file names.
* Preflight final PDF automatically with Acrobat Pro droplets.
* Send output files to FTP, MobileMe, WebDAV and other remote and local destinations.

BatchOutput is also available in a server version which processes InDesign files automatically from hot folders.

Pricing and Availability:
BatchOutput can be purchased from Zevrix web site for US$129.95, as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. Upgrade to BatchOutput 3.9.8 is free for users of version 3.x, and $51.98 from earlier versions. Includes free Deliver application for file delivery (a $19.95 value). BatchOutput is available for Mac OS X 10.4.2 and later, a Universal Binary, and works with Adobe InDesign CS2-CS5.
