MIPS, a member of the CliniSys Group, has acquired the intellectual property in GesLab, a laboratory information system (LIS) deployed in 23 sites across Belgium and France. CliniSys intends to build on this acquisition to consolidate its position as the leading pan-European LIS provider. GesLab customers were left without support for a core clinical system following the bankruptcy of Gespower SA. Key personnel with many years experience of the GesLab product have joined MIPS to provide on-going support services to the GesLab customers. This support will be delivered from a new MIPS office established in Wallonia which forms part of MIPS strategic growth plans for this region. MIPS has recently won a number of new customers in Wallonia and hopes to expand upon this success through working in collaboration with the GesLab customer base to develop mutually beneficial upgrade plans to GLIMS, MIPS leading international LIS product. The fast and accurate delivery of laboratory results is at the heart of many healthcare improvement programmes which demand solutions that meet both the evolving needs of the laboratory scientist and the diagnosing clinician’s need for integrated information at the point of care.
