Gold still sparkles in 2012, claims AAA

An expert who is backing gold as a top alternative investment strategy for 2012 has attracted the support of AAA, according to the advocacy group.

Boston, MA, January 14, 2012 – An expert who is backing gold as a top alternative investment strategy for 2012 has attracted the support of Alternative Asset Analysis (AAA), according to the advocacy group.

AAA has said it is backing claims from former Kaana Konya and City adviser and broker, Tullett Brown, who claims that gold will continue to gain value over the coming year.

AAA’s Anthony Johnson said, “As we start a new year, many people will be looking to take a fresh perspective on their investments and may be looking to make some more alternative choices after the dire year the equities markets had.”

“Gold is a good bet as far as we can see, especially as leading analysts, such as Brown, can see it rising yet further in 2012 after a stellar year in 2011.”

The price of gold has dropped recently, after a long period of increased prices over a number of months, explained Tullett. However, this is not a time to be frightened off of investing in precious metals, he continued. Instead, investors should take advantage of this slight dip to buy up gold assets and hold onto them until the market improves later in the year.

Tullet and AAA’s argument is that all the factors that led to gold’s massive gains in 2011 are still active in 2012, such as the uncertainties over the equity markets and the Eurozone crisis. Mr Johnson explained, “People are still very wary about stocks and shares and are desperate for a tangible investment opportunity”

As a result of this demand, it is not just gold that has seen an increase in interest over recent months, Johnson added. Wine, stamps, art, antiques, forestry and property are all asset classes that gained popularity during the recession and continue that momentum today.

AAA is particularly keen to promote forestry investment as an alternative asset class that also offers an ethical choice.

Singer-Songwriter Brandon Mchose Plugs in and Rocks Harder than Ever on his New Four Song EP Late Night Set for January 17 Release

Features The New Track Impacting Triple A Radio: “Next 3”

Hollywood, CA, January 13, 2012 – Choosing progress over comfort and musical evolution over the same old, same old, singer/songwriter Brandon McHose made two major career decisions—one musical, one geographical—over the past two years.

With two tracks from his upcoming EP Late Night currently making an impact at radio and his eyes set on a Midwest tour, both are paying off big time.

After two predominately acoustic based full length albums, he pulled a complete 180, unveiling an explosive new, electric guitar driven sound on his upcoming new four track EP Late Night. The title track “Late Night” is currently in rotation at numerous college radio stations throughout the U.S. and “Next Three” shipped to Triple AAA on November 14.

Picking up and moving from Austin after five years, McHose high-tailed it back to his home region of the Midwest, choosing Chicago for a batch of exciting new career opportunities. Since hitting “The Big Windy” in 2010, the multi-talented artist has headlined at the Hard Rock Cafe, Taste of River North Festival and the House of Blues Foundation Room, in addition to creating successful residencies for himself in neighborhood venues (like the Citizen Room) that had never had music before.

While his sizzling guitar sound and powerhouse live performances have earned him hundreds of fans throughout the city, Chicago’s thriving indie music scene is also a springboard for McHose’s latest touring endeavors along the I-35 corridor, which stretches from Northern Minnesota through his home region of Central Iowa down to Southern Texas.

McHose launched his recording career with two well received acoustic based full length albums helmed by big name producers. Life Eclipse (2007) was produced by Chris Maresch, who has played with Eric Johnson; the set featured famed keyboardist Riley Osbourne, who once played with Stevie Ray Vaughan’s band Double Trouble. Token (2008) was produced by Michael Ramos, a onetime member of The BoDeans whose credits include John Mellencamp and Los Lonely Boys.

Combining the melodically infectious, lyrically insightful vibe of classic singer/songwriters (James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon) with a Santana/Beck/Van Halen-like ability to shred, McHose has evolved into a multi-faceted artist in the tradition of his chief influences Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Stephen Stills, Jimi Hendrix and—straight from his country phase—Vince Gill and Brad Paisley.

Growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, Brandon McHose was introduced to the guitar by his father, once an aspiring guitarist himself. That’s a common story, a parent sharing passion with a child, but the guitar McHose his dad used to teach him, a 74 Les Paul, makes the history just a bit more extraordinary. His father’s eclectic music collection introduced the young musician to legends like The Beatles, Stones and The Who, but McHose says the reason he began playing more seriously was the solo he saw Joe Walsh do on VH1, in a clip from when he was with The Eagles.

McHose’s equal passion and skill in track and field earned him a full scholarship to Drake University, but he left after one year to ponder his musical future. His family sought professional advice by meeting with the Assistant Chair of the Guitar Department at the famed Berklee School of Music in Boston. After McHose auditioned, the professor’s professional opinion was that his skill and talent levels were far beyond that of a typical student; he recommended that the best road for him was not four years in college but to embark immediately on his career. McHose took this advice and chose Austin, Texas as the perfect environment to hone his craft. While making the connections necessary to launch his recording career, he worked his way up to playing live four nights a week, performing at such venues as The Saxon Pub and Threadgill’s.

“I felt that moving to a major market like Chicago would be a great step forward,” he says, “not only because of the many opportunities to perform in the city and surrounding area, but also because it’s centrally located, close to my hometown of Des Moines and a great centrally located base to tour from. That’s really where the excitement happens, up there onstage. I love feeling the energy from the crowd and trying new things with the songs and with my guitar every night.”

Metrolist Launches Real Estate Website Designed to Make Finding Homes Easier for Coloradans

Recolorado.com Designed To Greatly Improve Home Buying Experience

Denver, CO, January 12, 2012 – Metrolist® has officially re-launched REColorado.com, a consumer-facing real estate search engine that’s similar to search sites Trulia and Zillow but with more accurate and timely housing information, offering Colorado buyers, sellers and brokers an unrivalled ability to search for properties and open houses, find local real estate agents and coordinate home buying searches with a broker.

The new site offers simple, yet powerful home searching capabilities for Colorado homebuyers. The search engine incorporates a variety of tools to help in the home buying process, including an aerial-view map search with rooftop accuracy and parcel line overlays, custom searches tailored to regional and market specifics, and enhanced listing information with access to school and neighborhood data. Through the site or a smartphone application, home buyers will have easy access to:

Property Alerts – Property alerts notify you when potential properties become available.

Open Houses – Search for local open houses to tour properties first-hand with turn-by-turn directions.

Home Valuation – Check out your home’s current estimated value.

Rentals – A searchable rentals database is coming in early 2012.

Realtors- Find an agent or office.

“For the first time, Colorado consumers and real estate agents have a real estate search website that truly does it all,” said Metrolist interim COO Kirby Slunaker. “Whether you’re a homeowner who wants to value your home or you’re a homebuyer looking for the perfect home buying experience, we offer the tools to get the job done.”

Metrolist selected Irvine, California-based Real Estate Digital, a provider of integrated technology, media, and data solutions to the real estate industry, to power its new site.

“Clearly, consumers with independent access to MLS data like listings and open houses are much better informed,” said John Hensley, Chief Product and Technology Officer for Real Estate Digital. “The new will give consumers just that kind of access through Metrolist’s individual brokers and agents. In the end, it’s all about maximizing the consumer experience.”

Metrolist supports the largest network of Realtors® in Colorado with the most comprehensive database of real property listings throughout the Front Range. Home sellers planning open houses are encouraged to have their real estate professional to schedule the event in the Denver-based MLS.

“Our new public website allows homebuyers to better coordinate with their local real estate professional using the most detailed and timely housing information, greatly improving on what’s currently available in the marketplace,” said James T. Wanzeck, chairperson of the Metrolist Board of Directors. “Providing the community the best real estate products and services available is why Metrolist has become the leading MLS in Colorado.”

Dunkermotor Releases New Brushless DC and Intelligent Servo Motor Catalog

Industrial and commercial electric motor manufacturer, Dunkermotor, has released its 2012 catalog of low voltage Brushless DC and Intelligent Servo Motors with new Profibus, EtherCAT interfaces to complement CANopen BLDC motors and gearmotors.

Elgin, IL, January 12, 2012 – Industrial and commercial automation motor manufacturer, Dunkermotor, has released its 2012 catalog of low voltage Brushless DC and Intelligent Servo Motors. The expanded catalog includes detailed specifications on custom configurable BLDC motors, controls, gearheads, brakes, encoders and accessories and is now available for complimentary download at the Dunkermotor website or by email request for hard copies.

The Dunkermotor product line is based on five frame sizes of high power density low voltage BLDC motors, ranging from 32 to 75 mm (1.26 to 2.95 inches) with continuous output power ratings up to 530 W (0.7 hp). They are available as motors only or can be configured in infinite varieties with separate or integral controls, incremental or absolute encoders, matched parallel shaft and right angle gearing, as well as power-off or power-on brakes.

New features in the 114-page catalog include:

• Addition of integral commutation electronics option to 32 and 42 mm BLDC motors to permit simple two-wire operation in many commercial and industrial pump applications

• Profibus and EtherCAT interface options added to integral control 45, 65 and 75 mm BLDC motors to allow slave operation in motion control networks

• 20 new pages of information and specifications on 5 sizes of planetary gearheads, including special low noise versions, with continuous torque ratings to 160 Nm (1416 in-lbs), as well as 4 sizes of right angle worm gear reducers

• New BGE 30100 stand-alone control added for use with battery powered brushless motors up to 500 W

• Compact new CANopen-Profibus gateway to allow CANopen motors slave operation in a Profibus network

“This new catalog had to have one-third more pages in order to fully cover the variety of custom configurations which are possible with our fully integrated product line, ” said John Morehead, Dunkermotor vice president, business development. “OEMs are increasingly looking for sole source responsibility solutions and Dunkermotor strives to achieve that in the fractional horsepower motion control market.”

“It’s surprising how many OEMs today have to work with their motor suppliers like an audiophile did 25 years ago,” said Morehead. “They’re still trying to put together motors, encoders, controls, amplifiers, gears and brakes, often from different sources, just like when you had to try to coordinate tuners, preamps, amplifiers, tape decks, speakers and who knows what else, along with the requisite rats nest of wires and cables. Today, thanks to digital technology and products like the iPod, the component audio market exists only for those with the most fanatical tastes and a lot of disposable income. Similarly, an all-in-one integrated intelligence servo motor can rotate a shaft exactly the way the OEM wants, much more easily, in a smaller space and with a significantly better value proposition than the old way of specifying and achieving motion control.”

The new Dunkermotor Brushless DC Motor Catalog can be downloaded from the company’s website at http://www.dunkermotor.com/2012_BLDC_catalog or by emailing a request for a hard copy with name, company and address to info@dunkermotor.com.

About Dunkermotor:
Headquartered in Elgin, Illinois, Dunkermotor is the North American sales, technical support and logistics subsidiary of Dunkermotoren GmbH, for 60 years the world market leader in customized, configurable sole-source fractional horsepower motion control solutions composed of BLDC, PMDC and AC electric motors, gearmotors, controls, encoders and brakes, as well as linear motion solutions. Philadelphia World Future Society Hosts Expert Forum on Future of Higher Education

Will colleges as we know them disappear? Bill Ringle, nationally-known CEO advisor and president of the World Future Society of Greater Philadelphia, will moderate a panel discussion on the future of higher education on Wednesday, January 11, 2012.

Philadelphia, PA, January 11, 2012 – Bill Ringle, nationally-known CEO advisor, business growth strategist, and president of the World Future Society of Greater Philadelphia, will moderate a national expert panel discussion on the future of higher education on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 1:00pm EST. This event features prominent educators, economists, entrepreneurs, investors, designers, and futurists who are uniquely positioned to weigh in on the trends in this field.

Higher education is under attack from several fronts today. Business leaders want graduates with more relevant skill sets. Parents howl at the rising costs in a stagnant economy. Students resent graduating full of promise only to find themselves moving back home while they job search. Higher education leaders fire back that high schools are doing a poorer job than ever preparing students to do college-level work and that building expensive recreation centers and refurbishing dormitories is a requirement to remain competitive with other campuses. Meanwhile, private ventures offering online learning with accredited degrees and/or certifications without the campus overhead market more vigorously and online course materials appear with greater depth, polish, sophistication, and followings each week for no charge.

This panel discussion explores solutions and likely scenarios 10 to 30 years out based on informed thinking, powerful trends, thoughtful analysis, and decided bias for what is anticipated to be a probable or preferable future for Higher Education. Ringle will not seek common ground during the discussion, but rather to surface the underlying reasons for forecasts and to clearly illuminate the implications of the business model, demographic, sociological, and technological directions.

The expert guest panelists are: Cathy Curran, PhD, Associate Professor, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, is a Fulbright Scholar whose research focuses on the Role and Purpose of Higher Education and the Impact of Public Policy on Higher Education, among other topics.

Mark Kantrowitz, a bestselling author and nationally recognized expert on student financial aid and paying for college, is the founder and publisher of FinAid.org and publisher of Fastweb.com, a popular and complete free scholarship matching site. Jack Maguire, PhD, is the CEO of Maguire Associates, a leading research-based consulting firm serving the education industry; he introduced market research to the field of admissions when he became the Dean of Admissions at Boston College in the early 1970s. Greg O’Brien is CEO of The College Bound Network, a leading provider of interactive, recruitment marketing services to higher education. Andrew Schrage is co-owner of Money Crashers Personal Finance, whic h provides essential education across a wide variety of topics and information on how to reduce and avoid student loan debt as the price of education continues to rise in a floundering economy. Art Shostak, PhD, author and Professor Emeritus, Drexel University, is a longtime member of the World Future Society who has been a futurist consultant for Johnson & Johnson, Monsanto, Proctor & Gamble, various levels of Federal, state, and local government, and major labor unions. Kate Tulenko, PhD, is a globally recognized expert in the field of health labor markets and health workforce education; she is a leading thinker on strategies for health professional schools to cost-effectively train larger numbers of qualified, relevant health workers. Mark Valenti, CTS, is President and CEO of The Sextant Group, Inc.; his particular area of expertise is designing cutting-edge learning spaces and learning environments of the future.

“Higher education, not just in the United States, but around the world, seems to have been immune from innovation and significant change in the last 300 years,” says Bill Ringle. “In the next 20 years, I forecast that we will see more agile organizations educating a wider range of adults, accepting higher levels of accountability, for a fraction of today’s cost of a traditional bricks-and-mortar 4-year degree by leveraging emerging technological advances and global infrastructure. For some today, having a smartphone with a signal that didn’t drop so often seems a wishful dream, but imagine a going to sleep and waking up the next morning with new abilities or knowledge from new forms of accelerated learning. What happens when a generation of top students elect NOT to pursue a higher degree at a traditional institution, but take self-paced courses because the quality and access become superior and a tipping point is reached? This panel discussion bring s together top minds from a variety of professional fields, who all want to share their perspectives and supporting examples. The discussion is designed to explore new frontiers, not to make any singular predection.”

Burg Simpson Attorney, Reeves Whalen, Leads Denver Fundraising Efforts for Red Cloud Indian School

Reeves Whalen, an associate at Burg Simpson, who practices personal injury and pharmaceutical drug litigation, recently concluded fundraising efforts on behalf of the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.

Denver, CO, January 11, 2011 – Reeves Whalen, an associate at Burg Simpson, who practices personal injury and pharmaceutical drug litigation, recently concluded fundraising efforts on behalf of the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Mr. Whalen visited and participated in class instruction at the Red Cloud Indian School in April 2011. Thereafter, he was prominently featured in the August 2011 Edition of Trial Magazine for his involvement in a letter writing campaign aimed at addressing the issue of poverty and alcohol abuse on the reservation and his efforts to raise funding for the school. Mr. Whalen became familiar with the Red Cloud Indian School when their men’s basketball team appeared during a half time scrimmage at the Denver Nuggets Pepsi Center in 2009.

The Red Cloud Indian School was founded in 1888 and has over 600 students in elementary, middle, and high school programs. Red Cloud has an annual average attendance rate of over 90% and is credited with an impressive 45 Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarship recipients, the highest per capita in the country. Over 90% of the school’s operating budget comes from private donations. The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation is 2.8 million acres, making it the second-largest reservation in the United States. However, approximately 80% of the residents are unemployed, 49% are living below the Federal poverty line, the per-capita income is the second poorest in the United States, the infant mortality rate is five times higher than the national average, the reservation has the highest teenage suicide rate in the country, and life expectancy is the second lowest in the western hemisphere behind Haiti. Obesity, diabetes, and heart disease occur in epidemic proportions on the Pine Ridge and death rates due to diabetes among Native Americans are 3 times higher than among the general United States population. While visiting the school, Mr. Whalen met with administrators, teachers, and participated in classroom instruction.

“What I’m doing her matters, this is a program in serious financial need and their students, who are performing miraculously under horrible conditions, deserve our immediate attention and support. These conditions exist here in America and we have a duty to act,” commented Whalen. Mr. Whalen concluded his fundraising efforts this past week and presented donations to school officials on Friday November 18, 2011.

Mr. Whalen is an accomplished Colorado injury attorney. In 2011, Reeves Whalen was selected by the Denver Business Journal as a “Forty Under 40” Rising Star. In 2010, Mr. Whalen was selected as a Finalist by the Colorado Bar Association for the “Young Outstanding Lawyer of the Year” Award. Furthermore, in 2011, Mr. Whalen was appointed by Denver Mayor Michael Hancock to serve on the Administration’s Transition Team as the Co-Chair for the Department of Excise & License. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Girl’s Athletic Leadership School of Denver (GALS), The Save Our Youth Mentorship Program (SOY) in affiliation with the Denver Rescue Mission, and the Anschutz Medical Center Cancer Fund (AMC). Mr. Whalen teaches annually in the Denver Public Schools through the Denver Bar Association’s Attorney Guest Teacher Program. In the past, while he served on the Executive Committee of the Democratic Party of Denver (DPoD), he moderated and participated in education reform forums with State Senator Michael Johnston and Lt. Governor Joe Garcia. In addition, he has served on campaign finance committees for State Representative Crisanta Duran, Denver Public School Board At-Large Representative Happy Haynes, State Senator Chris Romer, former Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff, and Governor John Hickenlooper.

Mr. Whalen has an extensive background in philanthropic projects that extends beyond the United States. In 2009, Reeves visited Haiti and participated in the construction of an orphanage outside of Port Au Prince with a non-governmental organization, Center of Hope Haiti (COHH). Thereafter, in 2010, following the earthquake in Haiti, Mr. Whalen raised money to bring professional medical clinics to Haiti through The National Organization for the Advancement of Haitians (NOAH). As the community service co-chair for the Arapahoe County Bar Association, Mr. Whalen has established an annual volunteer program putting local attorneys together with Project CURE to help pack medical supplies for shipment to third world medical clinics. Mr. Whalen has been an associate attorney at Burg Simpson since 2008 where he practices personal injury and product liability law representing injured victims and consumers.

“Health Education Solutions’ practice tests are a convenient solution for healthcare professionals and first responders who are preparing for the ACLS and PALS exams,” said Melissa Marks, president of Health Education Solutions. “With ACLS and PALS practice questions that closely mirror those that will be included in the exams, the tests and quizzes offer these busy professionals the opportunity to preview questions and practice skills prior to certification.”

Immediately following the test, the practice tests and quizzes provide test-takers with answers to the questions that were incorrectly answered to help them identify the areas that may need more study time and attention prior to the full certification exam.

Accompanying the ACLS and PALS practice tests and quizzes is a new Practice Tests Special Section, complete with information about ACLS practice questions (2012), studying techniques, comparisons of the test options and advice for test-taking success.

ACLS and PALS courses and practice tests were developed in partnership with medical faculty at Union College in Lincoln, Neb. To meet the needs of healthcare professionals whose employers require American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification, Health Education Solutions now offers HeartCode® ACLS courses, the official, self-directed, comprehensive e-learning program from the AHA. Individuals taking this course will receive an official AHA ACLS provider card after they complete part one (cognitive) and parts two and three (practice skills and skills check).
