NITRAM FUSAINS FINE ART CHARCOAL RETURNS TO THE DELIGHT OF SERIOUS ARTISTS EVERYWHERE

Feb 27, 2011 – Much to the delight of serious artists everywhere, the renowned Nitram Fine Art Charcoal is returning to market. Now presented online at http://www.nitramcharcoal.com, this product’s renaissance comes strictly adhering to the methods and traditions of Nitram’s time-tested processes. Brought back by artist and entrepreneur Jerzy Niedojadlo in January of 2011, the charcoal’s return has been celebrated by professional artists the world over.

Niedojadlo’s interest in art began at an early age. With Robert Bateman as his high school art teacher, Niedojadlo’s passion and vision took full flight. As years passed, however, “business got in the way” and his aesthetic endeavours took a back seat. In recent years, the flame arose again and Niedojadlo took it upon himself to take traditional art classes at the Academy of Art in Toronto, Canada. There, he learned of Nitram (Fusains) Fine Art Charcoal and its legacy as one of the best charcoal products in the world.

It was, unfortunately, discontinued. Disappointed but not deterred, Niedojadlo elected to track down the source of the nearly mythical Nitram Fine Art Charcoal and, after several long sessions of correspondence, was able to discover that “Mr. Nitram” had moved on to other interests. Nitram Fine Art Charcoal, like Niedojadlo’s artistic endeavours so many years ago, had taken a back seat.

That’s when the idea struck Niedojadlo to take up the tradition of Nitram for himself. With more correspondence and dedication, Niedojadlo eventually headed to France and purchased the process, trademark and equipment of Nitram Fine Art Charcoal. He learned the techniques and extensively monitored the process of making the charcoal from start to finish, honing the master’s process and ensuring that the traditions stood strong.

So now, Nitram Arts Inc. and Jerzy Niedojadlo are prepared to reintroduce the beloved Nitram Fine Art Charcoal to the world. Using time-honoured methods, Nitram Charcoal is once again available.

For serious artists the world over, there is no substitute. Nitram Fine Art Charcoal has been an essential component of the artistic community for nearly 50 years, garnering rave reviews:

“We encourage our students to use only the best possible drawing materials. Nitram is the preferred charcoal of students and instructors at The Florence Academy of Art. Its quality and consistency meets the high standards we demand.”
– Daniel Graves, Founder/Director The Florence Academy of Art

“Nitram has always stood out with its unique balance of crispness and suppleness that is unmistakable. Nitram quite simply is the finest.”
– Harvey Nelson, Co-director/Co-founder Academy of Art Canada

“Nitram Charcoal has been my drawing medium of choice for many years. The use of a high quality art materials allows me to focus on my artistic expression rather than the tools themselves.”
– Juliette Aristides, Author of “A Contemporary Guide to Traditional Studio Practice”

Featuring Nitram Académie Fusains B (soft), Nitram Académie Fusains HB (medium) and Nitram Académie Fusains H (hard), Nitram Arts Inc. makes available the essential variety of high-quality charcoal. The charcoal is currently available at NitramCharcoal.com in packages of five batons.
