Raptivity launches ‘Character Dialog’ – the next Raptivity Evolve interaction

Raptivity, the leading rapid interactivity builder tool from Harbinger Knowledge Products, is proud to announce the release of the Character Dialog interaction. This new interaction will be a part of the Raptivity Evolve series of interactions.

Character Dialog uses a combination of characters and dialog boxes with which a user can create powerful and engaging scenario based learning interactions.

Character Dialog consists of 17 different types of characters in various poses which are a part of the Raptivity Asset Library. It gives the user an option to insert audio and dialog boxes along with characters, in addition to all the other Raptivity features like media toolbox, color palette, image scaling and many more. In other words, Character Dialog will enable users to communicate in interactive and innovative ways with their audience.

This new interaction is also a perfect example of co-creation efforts, where customers’ ideas for new interactions posted on the Raptivity’s Community are brought to life by the Raptivity team.

Raptivity to support Tin Can API in early 2013

Raptivity, the award winning rapid interactivity builder, has made an announcement that it will adopt the new Tin Can API in its upcoming release in early 2013.

The Tin Can API is the next generation of SCORM that allows learning content and learning technology to communicate with each other in a manner that records and tracks activities that happen as a part of learning experiences, both online as well as offline.

With the new Tin Can release of Raptivity, all the interactions in Raptivity Essential will have the option of publishing to SCORM, AICC or Tin Can. The upcoming release will give users the flexibility to pass very specific and granular information about the learning interaction back to the LRS which was not possible with SCORM tracking earlier. Moreover, Tin Can also has the potential to measure how a particular interaction has impacted the learner, thus making calculation of ROI possible.

For example, in the ‘Multipage Assessment’ interaction, SCORM would traditionally track the status of course completion and score, whereas Tin Can goes deeper and gives an in depth account of every bit of learning, thereby giving a true picture of learning interaction. Similarly, in the case of game based interactions like ‘Jigsaw Puzzle’, Tin Can enables data from these engaging activities to be stored in a proper context along with completion data from traditional courses.

Raptivity wins LearnX 2012 – Learning and Technology Impact Award

Raptivity®, the leading rapid interactivity building tool from Harbinger Knowledge Products, recently bagged the prestigious Learning and Technology Impact Award for the Best eLearning Design in the Game or Simulation category, at the 2012 award program organized by LearnX Foundation.

 

The purpose of the awards was to identify and honor individuals, teams and organizations that have leveraged learning and development in order to significantly advance workforce productivity and performance.

Raptivity Launches a ‘Free Interaction’ Initiative for its Premium Customers

Get creative and think visually with Mind Map organizing thoughts, effectively solving problems and writing more explicably

Harbinger Knowledge Products, a global leader in interactivity solutions today announced a new initiative to help deliver greater value to its Raptivity customer base.  As a part of this effort, the Raptivity has launched a ‘Free Interaction’ initiative starting this month in which it will release a new interaction periodically for its valued customers. Raptivity Premium customers will be eligible to receive these interactions on a regular basis absolutely FREE!

The first interaction being launched in the series is – Mind Map, a concept invented by British psychologist Tony Buzan, who believes it to be “the ultimate organizational thinking tool –the Swiss army knife of the brain!”

 

The Mind Map interaction brings a compelling learning aid to Raptivity customers and other learning professionals, which they will find useful for organizing thoughts, effectively solving problems and writing more explicably. Through Mind Map, concepts and associations between them can be easily organized, conveyed and visualized. It aims to bring about a definite change in the conventional method of assimilating and memorizing content heavy information.

Harbinger Releases Raptivity Standard Pack 4

Harbinger Knowledge Products announced the addition of the new Standard Pack 4 to its award-winning Raptivity product line. The new pack includes a variety of visually-appealing, meaningful and expressive interactions to help organize and present complex information in a simplified yet engaging manner.

Continuing with Raptivity’s commitment to bring more HTML5 interactions to its customers, all the Standard Pack 4 interactions support both HTML5 as well as Flash publishing options. With this release, Raptivity now supports more than 50 HTML5 interactions that work on iPad and iPhone devices.

“Delivering information, especially complex information, in a way that motivates learners to explore the learning material on their own, often presents a great challenge for course developers. Harbinger Knowledge Products’ Raptivity Software To Provide Complete Support for Mobile Devices Using HTML5 Technology

Harbinger Knowledge Products, a global leader in interactive eLearning, presentation and website software, today unveiled a strategic plan to create the world’s largest library of educational interactivity templates that will work on iPhones, iPads and all mobile devices using HTML5 technology.

Harbinger will provide customers of its award-winning Raptivity educational software with HTML5 publishing capabilities for all of its interactivity packs this year. The company’s Raptivity Himalaya pack would include the industry’s most extensive library of 170+ eLearning interactions for mobile devices that do not support Flash.

Harbinger’s announcement marks a strategic move into the fast growing market for products from Apple and others using HTML5 technology. The HTML5 standard is rapidly being adopted and supported on various web browsers and mobile devices. As a result, there is a burgeoning demand for tools that can help to deliver eLearning content on mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads that don’t support Flash.

Harbinger first announced HTML5 support for some of its Raptivity eLearning interactions in October 2010 with its HTML5 TurboPack. As interest in the product grew, the company released next set of 11 interactions as “HTML5 Starter Pack” in August 2011.

“We had always planned to add more interactions to provide HTML5 support, but there has been such an outpouring of interest from customers that we decided to accelerate the process,” said Seema Chaudhary, President of Harbinger Knowledge Products.

Chaudhary said Harbinger will release its Essential pack with 35 interactions for HTML5 mobile devices by early March with the remaining interaction templates soon after that.

“This announcement underscores Harbinger’s commitment to our customers to continually provide them with the most advanced products and services to help them take advantage of emerging mediums for eLearning,” she said.

eLearning Guild Survey Finds Raptivity to be One of the Top Rapid eLearning Authoring Tools

Raptivity®, the leading eLearning authoring tool is among the top tools identified in an ongoing user survey and through research data gathered by the eLearning Guild. The eLearning Guild is a leading community of practice for eLearning designers, developers, and managers. For a series of questions asked by The Guild, Raptivity figures in the top six or seven tools used by various eLearning practitioners around the world. The majority of data collected by The Guild represents 5,350 respondents from March 2010 to March 2011.
