Mods4Cars Offers the SmartTop Module for BMW 3 Series Convertible, Z4 Roadster and Mini Convertible

Roof top modules offered by Mods4cars are now also available for the BMW I-Bus types BMW 3 Series Convertible type E46, Z4 Roadster E85 and Mini Convertible type R52. The aftermarket convertible top module allows opening and closing the roof while driving at slow speeds with just one key press. Additionally the convertible top can be used from a distance from the original key fob.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), October 31, 2012 — Since this summer, the aftermarket SmartTOP roof top module offered by Mods4cars has been available for BMW 3 Series Convertible type E46, Z4 Roadster E85 and Mini Convertible type R52. It is also the first time the manufacturer supports I-Bus types. “We have followed our customer requests and are glad to be able to offer our modules to older BMW models,” says PR manager Sven Tornow. Up to now the well-thought-out SmartTOP module created by Mods4cars was only available for cars with CAN data bus.

The roof top module made by Mods4cars allows the opening and closing of the convertible top at speeds of up to 40 km/h. Thanks to the one-touch-function a short key press is all that is required to activate the unit; gone is the annoyance of having to continually depress the top control button. Additionally the convertible top handling is possible from a distance using the factory remote fob without any modifications to the key being necessary.

The windows can be opened or closed separately via remote key fob. Turning the ignition on or off will not interrupt the convertible top process. Single functions can be programmed according to individual desire. The complete removal of the entire module is possible at any time.

The roof top module ships with a standard USB port which allows the module to be configured on every PC or Mac and enables the customer to access free software updates as they become available. In a BMW 3 Series Convertible and the Z4 Roadster, the programming of the module can also be done via the in-dash LCD. The configuration can be completed in the car and every single function will be shown on the in-dash LCD.

For a quick and easy installation the modules are shipped with a wiring adapter. This provides an easy connection between car electronics and SmartTOP module. There is no need to cut any wires. That is why a removal of the entire kit is possible without leaving any traces.

The comfort extension is available for 209,00 Euro + tax and also the follow-up models BMW 3 Series Convertible type E93, Z4 Roadster E89 and Mini Convertible R57.

During the introductory period for the latest product for BMW I-bus types Mods4cars offers a 10% discount on the list price. The promotion will last until November 15th 2012, use voucher code “ibus10” on www.mods4cars.com or www.mods4cars.eu.

But not only BMW owners can take the advantage of a SmartTOP module: From Alfa to Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volvo up to VW – SmartTOP modules are available for nearly every convertible car or roadster.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.

Siblings of Special Needs Children are “Special” Too

New book offers positive message about self worth of all family members.

Houston, TX (USA), October 31, 2012 — New book offers positive message about self worth of all family members.

Hey, I’m Alex is a new book positively impacting the lives of families with special needs children. Author Leeann Pellegrin chronicles the experience of living with a special needs child through the eyes of a sibling.

The story is based on the author’s personal experience and originally started out as a tale for her youngest of five sons, Alexander, now 10.

“Out of a family of seven, Alex probably sacrifices the most for his older brother, Kyle,” Pellegrin said. Kyle, age 13, has Klinefelter’s syndrome and an extra X chromosome that results in delayed development.

“I was saying to Alex,” explained the author, “Hey buddy, I know what you go through, but remember, God gave us Kyle because he trusted us to take care of him and teach him.”

“And I also wanted him to know that there is something special in everyone and that all children in each family are loved.” “It’s so important for each child in a family to be aware of their own self worth, particularly in one with a special needs child who gets most of the focus,” Pellegrin said.

Hey, I’m Alex is published through Halo Publishing International. Publisher Lisa Umina said this book is unique in its perspective from a sibling of a special needs child. “It has a valuable message that I support and I know it will help families gain insight,” Umina said.

Pellegrin said she hopes Hey, I’m Alex will help to make parents aware of how a special needs child can affect his or her siblings and have a positive impact on the life of families.

The author is a tireless advocate for the disabled and volunteers for the Disability Action Center and the Special Olympics in the Fairmont, West Virginia community where she resides. Her sons range in age from 28 to 10. Pellegrin grew up in Sterling Heights, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, and returned to her parents’ hometown about 24 years ago. She is employed full time as a medical language specialist.

Centurion’s Experience with Christ Creates Crisis in Conscience

Author Ed DeVos reveals the crisis in conscience experienced by a Roman centurion charged with overseeing the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in his book The Stain, Crisis in Conscience, a Historical Novel, recently released by Halo Publishing International.

Houston, TX (USA), October 31, 2012 — Written in the first person from the Roman perspective, DeVos takes the reader on a journey which begins ten months before the crucifixion of Jesus when the centurion is ordered by Herod Antipas to supervise the beheading of John the Baptist. Before doing his duty, this warrior of Rome is challenged by John to put his trust in John’s God instead of in his Roman deities. While the centurion rejects John’s plea, doubt arises in him, haunting him in the months ahead as he faces an appeal from a trusted friend, the words of an old Jewish man, and many others who speak about a man named Jesus of Nazareth who is spreading the word of God.

Ed, a retired Army infantry officer, relates that the idea for the story came to him about 15 years ago. Motivated by his personal military experience and his strong Christian faith, he wanted to show how Christ’s life impacted many people, both Jews and Gentiles, before and after his death on the cross.

The author said he used The Bible as his primary source of information when writing The Stain which appeals both to Christian believers as well as those struggling with faith in the story of Jesus. The Stain speaks to those asking “Who is Jesus,” and “What makes Christians believe in Jesus?” DeVos said. The title is metaphoric for the blood of John the Baptist and of Jesus Christ stain both the sandals and the soul of the centurion as he is challenged anew after Jesus’ death with the crisis of conscience welling up in his heart.

Halo International Publisher Lisa Umina said readers will get inspiration from The Stain. “The way the story is written in the first person from the perspective of the centurion is unique and a creative way to tell about the life of Christ and the conflicts Christians often have with their faith,” she said.

DeVos spent 20 years in the Army and worked as a financial planner after retiring from military service in 1989. He has a Bachelor’s degree in business and a Master’s degree in military arts and science. He honed his writing skills some years ago by writing a series of articles on South Carolina’s role in the Revolutionary War for a local newspaper. The author hopes to continue writing and develop a series titled “The Almighty Warriors,” about other soldiers who experience their own crisis of conscience on other battlefields of history.

Ed and his wife, Susan, were raised in Lake Worth, Florida. They now attend a Baptist church near their home in McCormick, South Carolina. They have two adult children and four grandchildren.
