Tagattitude Announces Partnership with Prepay Nation

SmartTOP Convertible Top Module for Audi A5 Gets New Custom Designed Wiring Harness and Product Appearance

Aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars has begun shipping the SmartTOP convertible top controller kit for Audi A5 with a new, custom designed plug-and-play wiring harness. All connectors are OEM quality for perfect fit and foolproof installation. Additionally the module itself boasts the new, exclusive Mods4cars enclosure.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), September 30th, 2013 — The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller made by Mods4cars for Audi A5 is a retrofit module which allows using the convertible top with one-touch convenience and while driving at slow speeds. It also gives owners the option to raise and lower the top from the original key fob remote. This summer Mods4cars has improved not just one, but two aspects of the kit: On one hand the wiring harness was redesigned with OEM quality connectors in order to make installation even easier, on the other hand the SmartTOP module itself received a design overhaul and comes in the exclusive, custom designed Mods4cars enclosure.

“Our modules offer increased convenience by providing intelligent features and simple operation. We set a high value on offering products that are easy to install by anyone. Just by adding the wiring adapter in between a couple of connections the SmartTOP kit is connected to the vehicle electronics. The plugs and sockets are all equipped with latching mechanisms in order to provide a safe and reliable link. “Installation of this kit merely requires opening an access panel in the trunk of the car and is completed in just a few minutes.” Sven Tornow continues.

Also the appearance of the product itself was improved by using the new, custom designed product enclosure for the SmartTOP module. The new enclosure is smaller and more ergonomically shaped, so it can be installed in tighter locations in the car. The main connector and USB port are now fully enclosed and protected. The conformally coated electronics board inside is protected from moisture.

Apart from the two signature features each SmartTOP module made by Mods4cars offers a host of bonus features: On cars with keyless entry option the top can be lowered or raised by touching the door handle without the need to retrieve the key. The windows can be controlled independently from the top by remote and a chirp signal can be programmed to sound briefly when locking or unlocking the car. An extended mode can be activated which allows starting or stopping the engine while the top is in motion. Also the entire product can be temporarily disabled while retaining all user configurable settings.

All features and functions are user programmable. Settings can be adjusted in the car using key combinations or by connecting a Windows or Mac computer to the USB port present on the module. The USB port also allows quick and easy firmware updates which are provided free of charge online.

The kit makes it possible to raise and lower the top from the original factory key fob without the need to reprogram or change any of the existing parts.

After installing the module the top can be operated with one-touch operation up to a speed of 40km/h (~28mph). All that is required is a short push of the button. There is no more need to pull over and hold down the top button. A host of bonus features gives drivers other useful and convenient functionality.
