A Master’s Stroke, Strokes of Life as seen by Five Different Artists

A collection of artworks of five distinguished artists broadly centered on their individual perceptions of life, at Sublime Galleria.

Bangalore, India, February 19th, 2014 — Single digit temperatures may not be much fun, but an art approach can bring much warmth to the life. Come February and the art aficionados of Bengaluru are going to be treated with an art exhibition that seeks to celebrate the numerous hues of life in all their complexities.

Presenting 5 well-established Artists under one roof this February! Gallery ArteQuest, a fledgling corporate venture in art from Mumbai and Sublime Galleria, the only destination for exclusive Art pieces in Bengaluru, will host ‘A Master’s Stroke‘, a collection of paintings of five distinguished artistes on a wide range of themes broadly centered on their individual perceptions of life and its vicissitudes at Sublime Gallery.

Aelay Laxman portrays the spiritual robustness of the Telangana villagers, his own people and their tenacious resistance against the relentless incursion of modernity in their brittle lives that they neither appreciate nor stand to benefit from. The statuesque figures of these men and women, contorted within their own setting, seems to convey Aelay’s acute dismay at the steady marginalization of the values and sentiments cherished by these simple folk.

Amit was born in Hooghly Chinsurah (West Bengal) in 1973. Even as a child his first love was art. It was the primary objective of his life. The scintillating, pristine, rustic beauty of rural Bengal inspired him to take the brush at a very tender age. Amit speaks of his style as “…a new semi-realistic technique of texturing with the realistic play of light and shade.” Amit carefully blends the two forms of ancient Indian art and individualizes his innovative style. In a nut shell, his paintings let the viewer re-examine the threshold between illusion and reality, between waking and dreaming.

Rachana has many solo shows to her credit and has participated in art camps in India and abroad. Her imagery is often treated with a strong ‘photo-realistic’ rendering; appear cheerful, uncomplicated and purely painted with adroit sense and contemplation. Having been reluctant to irony, despondency, ingenuity; her paintings evoke joy of the present moment that she lives in. Her works are the visual palette for speaking to the world about the unspeakable. The ability to communicate through the visual senses has been around since the beginning of human kind and will continue as long as our species exists.

Ramesh Gorjala’s dense drawings on canvas are full of colors, figures and stories, mainly from Indian mythology, such as Hanuman, Shiva and Vishnu. A modern take on the famed Kalamkari tradition, his signature style of blending texts with images lends his canvas an enchanting visual appeal.

T. Vaikuntam, born in Karimnagar District of Andhra Pradesh in 1942, he completed his Diploma in Painting from the College of Fine Arts and Architecture, Hyderabad in 1970. He received a fellowship from Andhra Pradesh Lalit Kala Academy to study painting and print making at the M.S. University at Baroda from 1971 to 1972. Vaikuntam is specifically known for his very vibrant paintings of seductive ideal ‘Telangana Woman’, ornately dressed and magnificently distorted with flow of lines. Vaikuntam employs textile prototypes and jewellery embellishments to give life to his two dimensional imageries.

Each of these five artistes has developed their unique language of expressions and thematic preferences. Nonetheless, between them, they bring out the protean faces of life on their canvas in ways that often appear exaggerated or grotesque but never lacking in empathy.

Effective immediately the aftermarket SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller module offered by Mods4cars is available for the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible. It allows lowering and raising the top at just the touch of a button. Additionally the top can be controlled fully automatically from the original factory key fob remote. The product comes in the brand new, exclusive Mods4cars module enclosure.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), February 07th, 2014 — Aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars kicks off the year 2014 with a new product. The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller module for Volkswagen Beetle Convertibles is now in stock. Thanks to the convenience features of the add-on module Beetle Convertible owners get to enjoy their cars even more from this day forward. It is now possible to open or close the top fully automatically from the original factory key fob remote. No changes are necessary to the existing remotes. The remote operation comes in handy when drivers want to air out the car by lowering the top before driving off or in order to make stowing luggage on the back seat super easy.

Additionally the module adds one-touch convenience to the existing center console switch. It is no longer necessary to hold down the switch for the duration of the top operation. A quick tap on the switch is all that is needed. Now that opening the top takes less time and effort, the car is going to be used top-down more frequently, even on shorter drives.

An extended mode can be activated to allow continuing top operation while the engine is started or stopped. The entire module can temporarily be disabled in cases where others are driving the car and are not expecting the full automatic behavior. The SmartTOP module is equipped with a USB port which allows quick and easy set-up or firmware updates via PC or Mac. Support software and update files are available on the outfits’ website free of charge.

The brand new SmartTOP module for VW Beetle Convertibles ships right from the start with the recently introduced, exclusive and custom designed Mods4cars product enclosure. The new design was tailored specifically to the needs of this product and environment. The circuit board is optimally protected and all connectors including the USB port are fully enclosed. The new enclosure is very sleek and small, fits into very tight spaces and also shows status information via two LEDs, aiding during the installation process.

“In order to make installation as simple as possible, the SmartTOP kit for Beetle comes with a full plug-and-play wiring adapter which allows a simple and secure connection between the module and the car electronics.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. It is not necessary to cut or splice any wires. Installing or removing the kit can be done by anyone and leaves no traces or damage.

The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for VW Beetle Convertibles retails for 249 Euros + tax.

SmartTOP modules are available for: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volkswagen and Volvo.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.

Adventures in Nana’s Garden Become Endearing Story

Retired from her career in the corporate telecommunications industry, new author Anita Turnage is relishing the time she spends with her grandchildren, Haden and Ella Grace.

Houston, TX (USA), February 07, 2014 — Retired from her career in the corporate telecommunications industry, new author Anita Turnage is relishing the time she spends with her grandchildren, Haden and Ella Grace.

Five-year-old Haden loves to share exciting adventures with his “Nana T” in her garden and one day, while on hands and knees, they came face to face with a tiny tree frog. The little animal began to visit daily and Haden’s fascination certainly grew. The experience is the basis of Turnage’s new book, Hops, published by Halo Publishing International.

Hops is an endearing story for children ages four to eight. The book’s adorably illustrated pages are full of “ribbiting” surprises, based on the escapades of a very real tree frog.

Turnage said her father was a wonderful story teller, but he never wrote down his tales. As she began to have adventures with her grandson, she decided to record them for personal family history. “It became a sentimental project,” Turnage explained.

While recovering from back surgery, Turnage said a friend suggested she create a book from her tales and after working with Halo Publishing International staff, Hops is now in print.

Halo International Publisher, Lisa Umina, said Hops is a delightful story that will inspire children to explore their natural world. “Children and their caregivers will love sharing reading time with Hops and Haden and their adventures in the garden,” she said.

The daughter of elementary school teachers, Turnage grew up in Springfield, Virginia, a town near Washington D.C. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. While in college, she met her husband, Ralph, and the couple made their home in Columbia. They have two children and two grandchildren.

“Nana T” plans to write future books about her grandchildren’s adventures with critters they meet. “The days I savor most are the ones I spend with my grandchildren,” she said. “And as a gift to them, I will take pen in hand to recount the delightful adventures we share. I hope readers will relate to our experiences and enjoy Hops and future tales.”

QASymphony Rolls Out Testing Platform qTest

New testing platform marks strategic change in the way solutions are delivered.

Atlanta, GA (USA), January 28, 2014 — QASymphony ( http://www.qasymphony.com ), a developer of QA software testing tools for agile development teams, today announced a shift to a testing platform strategy and general availability of qTest and qTest eXplorer.

qTest is an enterprise test management platform that fully supports agile testing. Also announced today is qTest eXplorer, an add-on to qTest that automatically captures a tester’s actions in both text steps and screen captures.

Together these integrated tools comprise a testing management platform that offers complete support for agile testing and provide the only consolidated testing platform to support both scripted and unscripted testing.

Available as a SaaS application for $29 per user per month, qTest provides a collaborative work environment for teams to manage requirements, design test cases, plan test execution, track defects, and generate status and quality-metrics reports.

qTest eXplorer (available as an add-on to the qTest Platform at $9 per user per month) performs unscripted session-based testing and can generate step-by-step documentation with screen captures. The qTest eXplorer integrated solution monitors session time, or the ability to define the duration of a session and see the remaining time. It intelligently captures step-by-step user actions in both text and screen captures, providing clear traceability into what was tested. Users can then submit the detailed documentation directly into the qTest Platform to auto generate test cases that can be used in future scripted regression testing.

“The testing tools of today don’t fully empower testers to meet the demands of today’s rapid, agile development environment,” says Vu Lam, CEO, QASymphony. “Historically the needs of these different testing methodologies have been met through point solutions. But the realities of the demands on today’s testers call for a more integrated approach that provides testers with the flexibility they need to gain the benefits across different testing techniques.”

qTest arrives fully featured with pre-built integration with popular development lifecycle tools and defect tracking systems. Some of the features and modules include:

* Test Planning
* Requirement management
* Test case management
* Test execution
* Defect tracking
* Dashboards and Reports
* Built in workflows and collaboration

Mughal Garden, a Collection of Neo-Mughal Artworks by Vijit Pillai at Sublime Galleria

Revisit the splendor of a golden dynasty with artworks inspired by the Mughal Era, in Sublime Galleria’s latest exhibit.

Bangalore, India, January 27, 2014 — Kick starting 2014, Sublime Galleria opens with a peek into the past, showcasing the grandeur of the Mughal Era through the works of the celebrated new age artist Vijit Pillai. His latest exhibition is titled Mughal Garden.

Mughal Garden is a collection of artworks inspired by the characters and scenes from the classic miniatures. Created in 2013, this collection pays tribute to Mughal art styles through the use of colour, floral and stain-glass paintings. Here, Pillai adds a contemporary twist by using an extraordinary mixture of patterns and abstract visuals. This compilation adds to the artist’s characteristic trait and brings out the sheer drama of a time gone by.

The material used is acrylic paint on canvas with photographs. Pillai uses his own photographs which transforms through the use of filters, textures and patterns. Also evident is the sophisticated use of digital technique, depth and fabric creating a unique visual. These limited edition canvases come under the ‘Mixed Media Art’ genre. In this form of art, several materials and methods are combined to create a greater visual appeal and Pillai has proved to be a forerunner in it.

Exhibition Dates:
This Neo-Mughal exhibition titled ‘Mughal Garden’ is on from 18th January to 16th February 2014 at Sublime Galleria, on the 8th floor of UB City, on Vittal Mallya Road.

About the Artist:
Vijit Pillai took to the arts early in life, being encouraged by his artist mother. He trained under eminent art teacher Rathin Mitra and won his first few accolades while in school. Having been exposed to contemporary and modern art works from an early age, Pillai began to explore his own style with confidence while working in advertising. His added interest in photography led to the realm of New Media and Mixed Media Art.

Over the years, Vijit Pillai has been a part of several art auctions and exhibitions across the country and has been featured alongside legends such as MF Hussain and FN Souza. As a well recognized artist and pioneer in Mew Media and Digital Art, he has sold over 500 works internationally including countries like New Zealand, Germany, Italy, UK, Switzerland and Australia. His works are also currently featured at the 1D Terminal at the Delhi Airport and Radisson Blu Plaza in Hyderabad.

“The market for DevOps and Continuous Delivery is booming,” said CEO Coert Baart of XebiaLabs. “We’re proud that our solutions are the standard choice for leading innovative companies and that we are perceived as the thought leader in this market.”

Plans for 2014 include moving to larger headquarters to accommodate the rapidly expanding team, partnering with leaders to extend market reach and launching new products to meet the growing demand for delivery automation tooling. XebiaLabs is continuing to expand and is on track to more than double revenue again in 2014.
