The SmartTOP Convertible Top modules allow drivers to open and close the top while driving at slow speeds and with one-touch convenience. The top can also be closed fully automatically while walking away or from afar at the first sign of impending rainfall. No changes are necessary to the original keys or receiver system.

The SmartTOP module for Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder also offers a host of bonus features. A highlight is the ability to reverse the direction of the center console switch. Instead of pulling to lower and pushing to raise the top, the direction can be reversed to work in a much more intuitive way, if desired.

More features are available, all of which can be user configured according to taste. The windows can be activated by remote independently from the top, a chirp feature gives off brief horn signals upon locking or unlocking the car, hazard blinkers can be activated during remote top operation. An extended mode allows owners to even start or stop the engine while the top continues full automatic operation. It is also possible to temporarily disable the entire module while retaining all other settings.

Every SmartTOP module can be configured and updated via the integrated USB port and available support software for PC and Mac. Software and product firmware updates are available online, free of charge.

From Street Stray to Outer Space Story Focuses on Human Emotions During Cold War Era

Before that, he was with identity verification firm IDology and desktop virtualization provider Liquidware Labs. David was VP of Sales at RTO Software, which was acquired by VMware. He also held VP positions at SPI Dynamics (acquired by HP), and Internet Security Systems (acquired by IBM). David began his career with XEROX, The Sutherland Group, and Attachmate. He earned a BA from The State University of New York at Geneseo.

SmartTOP Add-On Convertible Top Controller For Mazda MX-5 Now With New Enclosure

Effective immediately, all retrofit SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller modules for the Mazda MX-5 are being shipped with a new product enclosure. The sleek new shape was custom designed for Mods4cars and gives the module not only a more streamlined appearance but adds convenience when installing the product. The SmartTOP module allows drivers to open and close the convertible top while driving and with one-touch operation.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), February 21st, 2014 — The SmartTOP Convertible Top add-on module designed by aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars for the Mazda MX-5 is a kit that can be installed by anyone. It allows drivers to operate the top while driving at speeds of up to 60 km/h (~38mph) with added convenience. A quick tap on the console button is sufficient.

“Every convertible driver knows the scenarios: Sunshine turns into cloudy skies followed by a sudden rainfall. Now all that matters is being able to stop quickly to close the top. Or hoping that a red light won’t change while the top is still closing.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. With the SmartTOP module the top can be used even while driving at slow speeds, so the top-down experience comes with more peace of mind.

The MX-5 compatible module can be used in three ways. 1. After unlatching the mechanical lock the top can be lowered by holding down the appropriate switch on the dash and raised the same way. 2. One-Touch operation. Same as before but the top opens or closes fully automatically after just a quick touch. 3. Auto Feature: When this setting is activated, the top will fully automatically lower itself right after the latch is disengaged and without the need to press the top down button at all. Closing is done the same way as in 2. All three options allow use of the top while the car is moving and without the need to shift into neutral or park gear.

Mods4cars has improved the design of the SmartTOP product itself and effective immediately all modules for the Mazda MX-5 come in the new, slimmer and more streamlined enclosure. The new shape was custom designed to fit the components perfectly and to encapsulate the product fully. All LEDs and connectors, including the USB port, are now enclosed in order to be optimally protected.

The new enclosure is also smaller than before and thus allows the product to be installed in tighter spots. It is more eco-friendly by no longer requiring screws and by using less plastic. Additionally two LEDs were fully integrated that aid during installation. They show current status, trouble codes and signal a correct installation of the module.

In order to make installation as simple as possible, a custom designed Plug-and-Play wiring harness is part of the kit. It uses genuine OEM connectors for a perfect and secure fit. No wires need to be spliced or cut. It simply connects in between two connectors and the SmartTOP module. It is possible to remove the kit without leaving any traces.

The SmartTOP module can be programmed according to individual needs. It is possible to configure the maximum speed allowed for top operation as well as other settings. The entire module can be temporarily disabled as well while retaining all user settings. The module comes equipped with a standard USB port for easy configuration and firmware updates via PC or Mac. All firmware updates are provided by Mods4cars online and free of charge.
