XebiaLabs and Diabol to Stage Events on Continuous Delivery

Sweden shows pent up demand for systems development and Continuous Delivery.

Boston, MA (USA), November 13th, 2014 — XebiaLabs today announced it has partnered with Diabol of Sweden, a systems development consulting firm that has shown remarkable expertise working with clients on their software development and release strategies in their native markets. The plan is for the two companies to team up and sponsor local tech events that will showcase how Continuous Delivery can provide higher production values with respect to Agile software development and the release process.

“Continuous Delivery is a development strategy that optimizes your delivery process for high-quality software with the shortest possible delivery time,” said Peter Ferm, CEO of Diabol. “We’re looking forward to working with XebiaLabs to present our findings and to show how the CD approach enables organizations to validate their business ideas and then iterate new ideas and changes to users quickly. Continuous Delivery has consequences for the entire product delivery process, including front-end design and analysis functions.”

Mother Entertains Children with Stories, Decides to Publish as Books

Released by Halo Publishing International, “Shadow Tears” is the first of a 20-part series.

Grand Blanc, MI (USA), November 08th, 2014 — In the midst of adversity, AJ Tupps told her children stories. It started in 2003 when her husband, Chris, was diagnosed with cancer. She says she had to keep her children entertained during the long car rides, doctor appointments and hospital stays. Today these young-adult, science fiction stories have turned into books. Released by Halo Publishing International, “Shadow Tears” is the first of a 20-part series.

“One day after I had told a story, my son said, ‘Where is this book at I want to read it?’ It hit me so hard that I decided to write it down for my children,” says Tupps.

Tupps says she called the book “Shadow Tears” because when, Selena, the main character who is a Shadow and a Shadow Protector, gets emotional the environment rains. It’s a parallel to the times when Tupps would observe her children looking out a rainy hospital window, she felt the environment was crying for them. She hopes her readers will have fun with the story, but will also take something away from it as well.

“I want them to learn that they can endure anything with a smile on their face,” says Tupps. “You can handle struggles even when you don’t think you can. You are not alone.”

Tupps says her children did and so did she. In 2007, her husband went into remission. Unfortunately, this year he was diagnosed again with pre-cancer. Tupps remains encouraged that her husband will overcome this disease while looking forward to the future. She hopes to release a new book in this series each year.

“These fantasy books are a great outlet for teens to expand their imagination,” says Halo Publisher Lisa M. Umina. “This first book, ‘Shadow Tears,’ combines lessons in unity, overcoming adversity and learning you’re not alone. I really think readers will find this series engaging.”

You can purchase “Shadow Tears” through Halo Publishing for 16.95

Former Broadway Singer Writes Two Children’s Books

From protecting wildlife to overcoming disabilities and bullying, retired professional singer Lisa Batch (aka Lisa Manning Batchelder) wants to teach children valuable lessons through her books, but mostly she wishes to entertain them.

Bonita Springs, FL (USA), November 04th, 2014 — From protecting wildlife to overcoming disabilities and bullying, retired professional singer Lisa Batch (aka Lisa Manning Batchelder) wants to teach children valuable lessons through her books, but mostly she wishes to entertain them. She’s partnered with Halo Publishing International to release “Rosie Babysits, A Roseate Spoonbill Story” and “Star’s Journey.”

“I’ve travelled around the world singing for nearly 50 years, and when I retired I missed entertaining people and I needed a creative outlet,” says Batch. “I hope my books and music bring lots of smiles and giggles.”

“Rosie Babysits, A Roseate Spoonbill Story” tells a whimsical tale about a real species of bird. The comical story ends with a glossary of photographs of Floridian wildlife, like the roseate spoonbill, manatee and shark, so children can associate the characters in the book with their true-life counterparts. They also learn how to protect the wildlife around them. A book about a roseate spoonbill is rare, and Rosie and her brother Billy are one-of-a-kind characters. “I heard that Disney is making a movie about a vulture. What about a Disney movie starring Rosie?” says Batch.

In “Star’s Journey,” the book is interactive for either a classroom setting with hand gestures and movements or a soothing bedtime story that includes hugs. It’s a story about a visually impaired pony that masters his fears and gains friends in the process. Young children will learn valuable lessons about being a friend, overcoming personal obstacles/disabilities, the value of work, and the importance of not giving up.

“I was inspired to write “Star’s Journey” because I volunteer with a lady who has vision issues and who runs benefits for the Foundation Fighting Blindness,” says Batch. “Children need to know that it’s okay to be different, and it’s good to be friends with someone who has a disability. Let’s remember that a person may have difficulty in one area but shine in another. In the book, while playing hide & seek, the pony has difficulty seeing, but his other senses, hearing and smell, are keener to compensate.”

“These stories are creative and the illustrations are stunning,” says Halo Publisher Lisa M. Umina. The illustrators, Mallette Pagano and Brian Peters, bring the books to life with an illustration on every page.”

Batch also released a CD with a narration followed by seven songs for children called, “Star’s Journey, Narration and Songs.” She is singing the songs she wrote and the narration is by professional voice-over artist, Robert Gillies.

You can purchase “Star’s Journey”, “Rosie Babysits, A Roseate Spoonbill Story” and the CD through http://www.LisaBatch.com. The hardcover books each cost $15.95 and the CD is $9.95. As a promotion, if you buy two books, the CD is free. You may also buy the books alone through Halo Publishing and Amazon. Ebook will soon carry them for $5.95.

SmartTOP Convertible Top Kit for Mercedes-Benz E-Class Now with Ultra Plug and Play Wiring Adapter

Aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars has refined and upgraded the wiring adapter which is part of the SmartTOP kit for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Effective immediately, a custom made adapter using OEM connectors guarantees a perfect and secure fit as well as easier connection between the SmartTOP and the vehicle electronics.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), October 31st, 2014 — The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller made by Mods4cars for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class convertible is a retrofit module which makes use of the top simpler, more fun and comes with a few bonus features as well. To benefit from these features, all that is necessary is to connect the module with the car electronics using the supplied custom designed plug-and-play adapter harness.

This harness simply plugs in between some connectors at the top control box and the SmartTOP module. In order to make installation even easier and to avoid any problems, the adapter was completely redesigned using OEM plugs that ensure secure, tight fit and reverse polarity protection. Simply connect plug and socket until they latch. Safety levers lock the connections in place.

“We always want to make the installation of our products as easy as possible for our customers“, says PR Manager Sven Tornow. “This means for us that we deliver wiring adapters that use OEM connectors with all the necessary safety latching mechanisms and reverse polarity protection that fit perfectly and cannot come apart accidentally.” Additionally Mods4cars recently custom designed a product enclosure that makes the module itself very slim, up to 30% smaller and thereby easier to install in tight locations. Configuring and updating the module is straight forward as well: A USB port on the module allows owners to connect it to a PC or Mac to program the individual settings or update the module firmware online.

The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller allows use of the top while driving at slow speeds of up to 50 km/h (~30mph). Thanks to the one-touch feature all it takes is one quick tap on the top switch. It is no longer necessary to hold down the switch for the duration of the operation. It is also possible to open and close the top from the original factory key fob remote up to the full RF range. No modification is necessary to the key remote or receiver system.

The SmartTOP module for E-Class convertibles also offers some neat bonus features: Separate control of the windows from the remote, comfort one-touch close off all windows at once with the dedicated “all-windows“ switch. Hazard blinkers can be activated during remote top operation and the top can be controlled via the door handle if the car has the Keyless Go factory option installed. An extended mode can be activated which allows starting or stopping the engine during an ongoing top operation and the entire module can be temporarily disabled while retaining all user configurable settings.

Effective immediately the SmartTOP kit for E-Class convertibles ships with the new plug-and-play wiring adapter at an unchanged retail price of 299 Euros + tax. SmartTOP kits are available for many other Mercedes-Benz models as well as for all of these popular brands: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Mazda, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volvo and VW.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.

Pharma Biggies Vie for a Bigger Share of the Fast Growing Domestic Mouthwash Category in Oral Care Segment Worth Rs 600 Crore and Growing at 25% Annually

* Elder Pharma relaunches AMPM Mouthwash – also introduces a Specific Mouthwash for smokers/tobacco users. * Becomes 3rd major entity after J&J and Colgate in this field; targets 5% market share.

Mumbai, India, October 24th, 2014 — With the completion of its deal with Torrent Pharma for Rs 2,000 crore involving sale of select brands, Elder Pharmaceuticals Limited (BSE: 532322 | NSE:ELDERPHARMEQ) has laid out aggressive expansion plans for achieving a turnover of Rs 1000 crore by FY 2017. In addition to its thrust on the Anti-infectives, Multi Vitamins and Skin care segments, Elder has identified the fast growing mouthwash category in the Oral c are industry as its focus area and to this effect has relaunched its famous AMPM range of mouthwash with an addition of a range for Smokers / tobacco users.

Indian oral care industry, over the last few years, has been one of the fast growing FMCG sectors. The oral care industry is segmented into five categories which include toothpaste, toothbrush, toothpowder, mouthwashes, other oral care products such as dental flosses and chewing gum.

According to Alok Saxena, Managing Director, Elder Pharma, “Among Oral Care products, the mouthwash category has seen high penetration levels with substantial market expansion even in rural and semi-urban areas. There is a major change in the consumer tastes and preferences towards easy to use oral care products in the market. Companies like Elder, focusing on advance solutions for oral health problems for the consumer, are receiving good response from the market.”

Developed by the R&D scientists at Elder Pharma in joint co-operation with practicing dentists, the new AMPM Mouthwash has as its key ingredient ‘Triclosan’, an antibacterial and antifungal agent. Triclosan has been shown to be effective in reducing and controlling bacterial contamination and fighting germs. In addition to its anti plaque and anti cavity properties, AMPM has been designed to fight gum recession, dry mouth, tobacco odour, tartar build up and tooth staining from smoking, yellowing or browning of front teeth due to exhaling tobacco smoke.

AMPM is available in 3 variants AMPM PLUS, AMPM SPECIAL and the newly launched AMPM NICOFRESH specially formulated for smokers/tobacco users. Smoking not only causes bad breath but leaves stains on teeth and leads to gum diseases. In addition to TRICLOSAN, AMPM NICOFRESH contains Sodium Perborate which helps remove smoke and tobacco tar. The oxygenating effect of NICOFRESH hits one of the most stubborn sources of sulfur-producing bacteria and stops it at its source.

Going ahead Elder is also planning to launch mouthwashes based on natural ingredients like aloe vera, green tea and probiotics under the AMPM range.

The Domestic mouthwash industry is presently valued at Rs 600 crore and growing at 25 – 30% pa. Online ecommerce players and organized retail chains are also playing a major role in the market expansion of mouthwashes as oral health & hygiene awareness increases by the day. The leader in the mouthwash category is Listerine which accounts for 70% of market share while Colgate Plax has 17% share. Elder hopes to garner a 5-7% share in the next few years.

Adds Saxena, “The industry has expanded with the introduction of innovative and condition-specific products like mouthwashes for sensitive teeth, for gum care , for discoloration of teeth, for smokers etc. Increased competition from International players has also meant reaching out to the last mile population to promote products.”

Elder’s growth strategy is to lay emphasis on expanding the brands remaining with itself post Torrent deal and strengthening them rather than launch new products. New products are also in the pipeline but will be introduced in a phased manner once the existing brands reach a critical level. Elder group’s target of Rs 1000 cr turnover by 2017 will see equal contribution from its domestic and international operations.

Photographer Writes Book To Benefit Animal Shelter

“How Dogs Make Cloud Pictures”.

Worcester, MA (USA), October 22, 2014 — Sheri Bready recently combined her passion for photography and dogs for a good cause. She wrote a book to benefit the Worcester Animal Rescue League (WARL) called “How Dogs Make Cloud Pictures.” Released by Halo Publishing International, the book contains photographs of imaginative dog scenes with pets that are waiting for adoption.

“I wanted to use my photography for more than just making money,” says the Worcester photographer and author. “I wanted people to know in a creative way that these animals need homes.”

Inspired by her own two dogs, Bready says she always wonders what they are thinking. The front cover of the book displays a dog staring at the sky. The clouds look like a bone and a ball, giving the idea that if a dog made a cloud picture it would probably look like this.

“Sheri is a talented photographer and this book showcases her innovative ideas,” says Halo Publisher Lisa M. Umina. “But this book is more than just about Sheri’s creativity, it’s also an avenue to build awareness about pet adoption and raise funds for the no-kill shelter where she serves as a volunteer.”

Founded 1912, WARL has been dedicated to the care of animals as a private, non-profit organization. Staff and volunteers work tirelessly with foster homes, rescues groups and shelters nationwide to provide the best possible home. The costs for care, medicine, food, shelter, spray and neuter, training and prep for adoption far outweigh the costs the organization takes in for fees. Generous donors supply the rest of the funds.

You can purchase “How Dogs Make Cloud Pictures” through Amazon.com It sells for $19.95 A portion of the proceeds will benefit WARL. You can also contact WARL at (508) 853-0030 to see which dogs from the book still need a good home.
