Elder Pharma begins Exports of Superbrand ShelCal to more than 25 Countries, targets Rs 100 crore from Global Sales

• International rights of Shelcal still with Elder after selling off brand in Domestic markets to Torrent group last year. • Elder’s wholly owned UK Subsidiary to spearhead European expansion plans.

Mumbai, India, Jun 26th, 2015 — With International rights for Shelcal still with Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd, the company has aggressively started marketing this superbrand globally. Elder Pharma has already started exports of its leading calcium supplement brand to about 25 countries with many more on the anvil. For the year 2015-16, the company is likely to notch up sales of over Rs 25 crore and the demand is coming from some of the most unusual countries like Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Maldives, Zambia, Uganda, Yemen, Guyana, Burkinafaso, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Papua New Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Burundi, Rwanda etc. Shelcal is currently exported in the form of 250/500 mg tablets and Syrup but new line extensions are also being planned which will include Shelcal CT (Calcitrol), Shelcal OS (alpha Calcitrol) and Shelcal HD (high dosage of Vitamin D3).

Says Alok Saxena, Director, Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd, “About a year back, Elder had sold the rights for the domestic markets of Shelcal and 30 other brands to Torrent group for a consideration of Rs 2000 crore but had retained the rights for the international markets with itself. With overwhelming response and acceptance of its product in all these markets, the company is looking at strong prescription base in over 70 countries by March 2017.”

Elder is also targeting the markets of Europe, CIS and LATAM. Shelcal’s European thrust will be spearheaded by Neutra Health plc, its wholly owned subsidiary in the UK which will market it across the EU. Sold through the ethical route, Shelcal has found support from health conscious persons as the source of calcium used in Shelcal is from ‘oyster shell’, which provides calcium in its purest form. Because of its organic origins, it is highly bio-available and gives significant increase in BMD (Bone Mineral Density). Other calcium supplements have synthetic origins and hence their contribution to BMD does not match up to Shelcal. Shelcal’s success also stems from the fact that it targets different segments like management of calcium deficiency, osteoporosis, pregnancy and lactation and is suitable for all ages.

Adds Saxena, “Earlier our production capacities were barely able to fulfill the domestic demand for Shelcal and hence we were not pursuing the exports markets in a big way. Now that we have sold the domestic rights of Shelcal we can focus on the vast global markets.” Judging by the response received so far, Elder should be able to garner a turnover of about Rs 100 crore from the International operations of Shelcal by 2017-18. The company is also looking to export another nutritional product, Thrive, a natural supplement that helps fight chronic metabolic disorders.

Cirrus Data Launches Data Migration Server for Legacy, Cloud and Data Storage Center Moves

Version 3.0 can natively run virtual appliances allowing the streamlining of P-to-V conversion as part of the migration process.

New York, NY (USA), June 05th, 2015 –– Expanding the reach of live data storage migrations with zero downtown and no interruption of services is the motive behind Cirrus Data Solutions release of its Data Migration Server version 3.0. DMS is built on proprietary and patented technology called “Transparent Datapath Intercept.” Cirrus is a provider of applications that manage and optimize storage area networks (SANs).

SmartTOP Add-On Convertible Top Controller for Audi A5 gets Feature Enhancements

The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for the Audi A5 Convertible allows simple one-touch operation of the top while driving as well as remote operation from the original remote fob. Now manufacturer Mods4cars has added two new features to the module: Opening and closing of the windows separately from the top via touch door handle and a setting that allows owners to invert the console top switch direction.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), May 21st, 2015 — The aftermarket SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for the Audi A5 Convertible makes it possible to open and close the top while driving at slow speeds of up to 60 km/h (~38mph). A convenient quick single touch is enough to set the top in motion. The top can also be controlled from the original factory key fob remote.

All SmartTOP modules come with a host of bonus features. The Audi A5 kit can be programmed to activate the hazard flashers during remote top operation and a short confirmation beep when locking or unlocking the car can be activated. The windows can be controlled separately from the top by remote. Also the keyless operation via the touch door handles was fully integrated for cars that come with that option. Tapping the door handle three times activates the top. A new update to the product firmware now allows the windows to be lowered or raised by holding the door handle for 2 seconds.

“We position our SmartTOP Convertible Top product in the market as a general convenience add-on.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “Our clever functions and bonus features are meant to simplify operation and make owning the convertible more fun. Now users can select which way they want the console switch to work. “In some countries the console switch is wired with ‘backwards’ logic.” Sven Tornow explains. “Thanks to the SmartTOP module our customers can now choose if they want to pull the switch to lower the top or push it instead.”

Delightful Children’s Picture about a Tiny Tree Frog Wins Multiple Book Awards

In this endearing tale filled with vivid and colorful illustrations by Kim Sponaugle, a little boy named Haden, who loves to catch bugs, shares exciting adventures with Nana T in her garden. “Hops” is based on the escapades of a very real tree frog in author Anita Turnage’s backyard. “I’m an avid gardener and I fell head over heels in love with this little tree frog,” said Turnage. “After several weeks of him following me around the yard and house, and my grandson becoming really excited about our little visitor, I decided to write down the different adventures my grandson and I were having together with our tree frog friend.”

Recently “Hops” won the Conversations Award for the Best Regional Book of the Year (2015), the Loewenherz-Creative Award for Best Children’s Picture Book and the Reader Views Kids Award for Best Children’s Picture Book of the Year (2015).

“I’m very excited and still in shock Hops won so many awards,” said Turnage. “My head has been spinning since receiving the news.”

The criteria for each award is chosen from the first place winners in both fiction and nonfiction, and “Hops” placed first in each award category, honoring the this cute children’s picture book with many gold seals.

“I’m really humbled that so many readers found value in my story,” said Turnage. “However, I really feel I need to share these awards with all those who helped make this book possible, those who supported me through this process, and of course, with my fans as it was a team effort.”

Author Anita Turnage feels writing and reading is something that brings everyone together. She loves sharing ideas and the different events she experiences with her grandchildren while out in nature. She does give a lot of credit to her grandson who was such an enjoyable creative mind to work with as she penned the different events with their little tree frog, Hops.

Children in for a Treat this Summer with Jacadi Kids Art Connect at The Collection, UB City

Theme-based creative craft workshops to be held during weekends through May 2015.

Bangalore, India, May 15th, 2015 — School children are on their summer break currently and have about a month of holidays left. This is the ideal time for them to pursue their hobbies. Jacadi Kids Art Connect, organized by team ChotuPainter is bringing theme-based creative craft workshops to The Collection, UB City for children aged between 2 to 12 years. These workshops will be held during weekends through the month of May.

The theme for the workshops is Paris Fashion & Clothing. Craft articles will be developed around this theme to teach kids about Paris, its culture, kids fashion and style. The children can take away their creativity in terms of finished articles developed by them with the assistance of the expert faculty. Some of the craft activities provided as part of these workshops are Fashion Doll Dressing, Cool Key Chain, Party Mask, Fashion Bags, Stylish Bookmark, Paris Greetings, Quelling Jewelry Costumes Designs and Eiffel on Canvas, among others.

The idea behind organizing an event like this in The Collection, UB City is to allow parents to leave their kids at the Jacadi Kids Art Connect Counter and enjoy their shopping experience for the duration of 45 minutes – 1 hour.
