Bambi Day Care Center Press Release

Bambi Day Care Center is the initial subdivision of the greater institution — Bambi Academy, which comprises the daycare centers, the Big Apple Academy K-12, the Alpha Summer Camp and the Dolphin Swimming School in New York. The daycare centers have several convenient locations in quiet residential areas of Brooklyn and are proud to be among the best daycare centers New York City can offer.
At Bambi Day Care, as childcare professionals we keep up to date with the latest trends in the field of child development. We firmly believe that each child is a unique person, and development is dependent on many factors. Therefore our child care programs support the idea that children should have their natural curiosity nurtured through an authentic, integrated, play-based approach. We realize that a curriculum framework that is designed to be universal to all children only leads to optimal development when teachers respect and respond to the learning opportunities of each individual child. Each child is born with individual traits and this is the reason for our strong belief that caregivers cannot have one single strategy for all the children in their care. We try to personalize and tailor our interactions and our programs to fit each child’s needs, keeping in mind their likes and dislikes.
Education and upbringing in our daycare center is centered around a child’s personality. We focus on children’s self-discovery, self-development and self-realization. We use the latest methods of teaching preschool age children along with the childcare programs that have been tested for years and proven to be most effective. At our day care centers each child can enjoy wonderful books, attractive toys, spacious and well-equipped playgrounds. Your child will be under the supervision of nurturing, highly educated caregivers at all times in our infant daycare.
Our children very enthusiastically take part in various contests and concerts which are prepared for all major holidays. Children love singing and dancing, and these activities help them develop their creativity thus developing their intellect. Children successfully develop their language skills through communicating with their teachers who are always interested in what the little ones have to say.
We are proud of the fact that we can form beginning knowledge and skills which will serve as a foundation for your children’s future. Children develop their motor skills, learn numbers and letters, start working with basic mathematical operations, such as addition and subtraction, learn new words to expand their vocabulary and gain the ability to eloquently express themselves. They also learn many facts about the world around them.
Our daycare graduates are perfectly ready for Kindergarten at the age of 5 because we organize our classes based on the fundamental principles of early childhood education. Children are taught through play, and they learn new skills naturally.
Our daycare centers are open for children ages 2 through 5, Monday through Friday, from 7.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. We also provide transportation from Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.

Big Apple Academy Press Release

For the third consecutive year, Big Apple Academy has been selected for the 2010 Best of Brooklyn Award in the Junior Colleges & Technical Institutes category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).

The USLBA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Nationwide, only 1 in 120 (less than 1%) 2010 Award recipients qualified as three-time Award Winners. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2010 USLBA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.

For reference:

The Big Apple Academy is a coeducational independent school for students enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school was founded in 1992, and throughout its comparatively short history has become the leading private educational institution for K-12, utilizing the latest technologies and methods for education delivery.

The Big Apple Academy strives to create an informal learning environment where students develop their character, mind and body. The greatest asset of our private school is the close-knit relationships between faculty and students. It is our firm belief that from this relationship students sharpen their most essential skill sets: thinking critically and analyzing, exploring and practicing through a broad array of human thoughts and accomplishments extending to the humanities, mathematics, the sciences, the arts and athletics.

For the purpose of catering better to the needs of students and parents in our age of technology, we’ve created an integrated online social media platform (integrated websites and integrations with social media networks), while building a cohesive community of teachers and students, exchanging content, knowledge and expertise.

The web architecture is based on WordPress platform, integrated with major social networking platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others. A number of collaborative applications assisting teachers, students and parents share content, comments, homework assignments, exercise, and other related content.

This helped to achieve a greatly increased (close to 100%) participation by students and teachers, directly through platform, and via social networks. Increased comments on website and social networks, better conversion from information gathering to registration in school programs. Big Apple Academy is planning better engagement of students in classrooms with the use of Social Networks, such as Twitter and Facebook. From Project related tweet-ups and Facebook sections, Big Apple Academy is hoping to increase the overall awareness and branding of the schools programs.

Besides this, our students have access to the latest educational technology by having their lessons scheduled in state-of-the-art computer classes. Scientific experiments are regularly conducted through the use of microscopes and other tools geared toward scientific discovery and research. All classes are equipped with TV’s and DVD players as well as other materials produced by the school for didactic purposes.

The Academy occupies two modern facilities located in the Gravesend area of Brooklyn, NY. So, if you reside nearby or in the neighbouring boroughs of Queens and Staten Island — come visit us to get a taste of the Big Apple Academy where each child is given the inspiration to learn and succeed!
