Future Electronics Now Stocking Reduced Thru Wire and Junctions Box Connectors from AVX

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) July 1, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components founded in 1968 by Robert Miller, recently announced that the company is now stocking reduced thru wire and junction box connectors from AVX.

Wire-to-Wire (WTW) connectors have been used in the industrial market for years with traditional 2-Piece (plug & socket) connector systems. These require crimp and poke wire terminations to connect discrete wires together. While these provide repeated pluggability and latching, they are often size and cost prohibited in applications where the wires may only need to be replaced once or twice during their life.

The reduced 9286-250 series of junction connectors from AVX expands on the already proven 9286 poke-home discrete WTW family of connectors, but in a smaller package size. Junction box connectors electrically connect each of the inserted wires together, similar to a branch or splitter application but with multiple outputs. The development of an active stainless steel spring contact eliminates the need for push button activation to insert and remove wires which offers a significant cost savings. The mechanical properties of this contact provide maximum wire retention across a broad range of solid and stranded wire gauges, making this connector very versatile in field installations.

Typical applications for these reduced thru wire and junction box connectors from AVX include industrial machine controls (motors, drives, solenoids, sensors, fans, pumps, etc.), commercial buildings (controls, security, fire and sensors), smart grid (meters, breakers and panels), and SSL/LED (fixtures, signage and streetlights).

Package Central 1.9.7 for Adobe InDesign Improves Email Reliability

Zevrix Solutions announces Package Central 1.9.7, a maintenance update to its document packaging automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Package Central processes InDesign files from watched hot folders and offers customizable workflows, variable folder names, email notifications, automatic error handling, preflighting and other time saving features for workgroup environment. The new version addresses an issue which could prevent email and metadata settings from being saved in workflow presets.

Toronto (ON), Canada — Zevrix Solutions today announces Package Central 1.9.7, a maintenance update to its file packaging automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Originally developed for a major publisher in the United States, the software automates InDesign packaging by processing files from watched hot folders. Package Central offloads document collection to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the packaging process.

The new version addresses an issue that could prevent some email and XML metadata settings from being saved in workflow presets after quitting the app. Package Central lets users create multiple email templates to issue customized mail alerts in case of processing errors and preflight warnings, while XML variables allow to take advantage of InDesign file metadata in variable package folder names.

Under Package Central workflow, production artists, prepress operators and designers simply submit InDesign files to watched hot folders that reside on a network. The software automatically collects the documents along with their fonts and links, freeing user’s time for important tasks such as design and layout. Operator workstations will never again be tied up by the packaging process.

Package Central performs all its tasks automatically on a dedicated workstation and can run absolutely unattended. The app offers the following key features and benefits:

Collect InDesign files from watched hot folders
-Create hot folders for various packaging settings
Create PDF and IDML files on the fly
-Automatic email notifications on process stages and errors
-Variable package folder names
Update modified links automatically
-Detailed processing logs
-Maintain a single set of settings for entire workgroup

Pricing and Availability:
Package Central can be purchased for $149.95 from Zevrix website, as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. Package Central requires Mac OS X 10.6-10.11 and Adobe InDesign CS5-CC 2015.

CleverTap Introduces Live User Segments – an Industry First Approach for Analyzing User Behavior in Mobile Apps

CleverTap is pleased to announce an industry first: the ability to segment mobile app users based on behavior in real-time, offering instant, personalized engagement – with proven results.

San Francisco, CA, USA — CleverTap, a leader in mobile analytics and engagement, announced Live User Segments, a new capability for evaluating a user’s behavior as it happens in an app. Live User Segments run continuously and act like a real-time filter on a user’s behavior. Users are dynamically added to segments the moment their behavior matches pre-defined criteria.

App developers and marketers use Live User Segments to do real-time monitoring and analysis of critical user flows such as onboarding and conversions. Marketing campaigns using push notifications, email, SMS and browser notifications, can be automated to message users exactly when they complete a specified activity or sequence of activities, or even upon inaction, when they do not perform a desired activity within a specified amount of time, which could be in minutes, hours or days.

“Live User Segments are the cornerstone of our app engagement strategy,” said Revant Bhate Head of Marketing at Faasos. “We deliver thousands of meal orders during the lunch hour but if a customer doesn’t complete an order by 12:15, we’ve lost that purchase. Our Live User Segments campaigns run continuously and identify customers we’re about to lose, and send them personalized push notifications with incentives to buy. We’ve seen a 30% lift in our conversions.”

Live User Segments is the latest addition to what is the most advanced behavioral segmentation tool available for businesses today. Whereas other tools allow you to segment audience based on simple rules such as a single user activity or user property, CleverTap is the only platform that allows segmentation based on any comprehensive set of actions or inactions a user performs in an app. Segments can look backward at past user behavior or, with Live User Segments, can evaluate user behavior as it happens, adding them to a segment in real-time.

“The key to any app’s success is knowing who your users are and how they experience your app,” said Paul Brody, Chief Product Officer for CleverTap. Segments can be monitored against KPIs (show me 30 day retention for 2nd time purchasers), compared to each other, used to automate engagement campaigns or sent to a webhook endpoint for use by other systems such as a CRM. And with Live User Segments, said Brody, you can now drive immediate user engagement or power the dashboard on the CEOs desk to show real-time, dynamic metrics on everything from who’s in the app right now to the total number of conversions in the past hour or day.”

Live User Segments will be available to all customers in July and is included as part of all CleverTap plans. Pricing is designed to place the tool within reach of startups with affordable plans that allows up to one million events per month, free.

Future Electronics Promotes Power Metal Strip Resistors from Vishay

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) June 21, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components founded in 1968 by Robert Miller, recently announced immediate shipping availability of Power Metal Strip resistors from Vishay.

Vishay’s new surface mount Power Metal Strip current sense resistor is in a compact 1206 case size that combines an extended power rating to 0.5W with a Kelvin 4-terminal connection that reduces TCR down to 35ppm and enables tight tolerances down to 0.1% for increased measurement accuracy.

Offering twice the power of standard resistors in a 1206 footprint, the new device allows designers to save board space and reduce costs by utilizing fewer and smaller components. With its 4-terminal construction, the resistor reduces system errors while eliminating the need for system calibration during manufacturing as well as in the field to further reduce costs and improve end product performance.

It is ideal for all types of current sensing, voltage division, and pulse applications in power management for cell phones; DC/DC converters for servers, VRMs for laptops, and Li-Ion battery safety and management; industrial instrumentation; and automotive electronic control such as engine, transmission, anti-lock brakes, audio, and climate controls.

Like all Power Metal Strip resistors, the device features an all-welded construction that contributes to its superior electrical performance. A proprietary processing technique produces extremely low resistance values ranging from 0.01Ω to 0.05Ω, with tight tolerances of 0.1%, 0.5%, and 1.0%. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.
