Such a powerful statement embodied in this piece of art made of stainless steel and bronze. According to Mr. Reiman, the symbolic bird soaring through a ring of the sun represents a future of wonder with the random letters that cover its form questioning the human experience and how we impact our future. I met with Mr. Reiman and his lovely wife Ruth right after the ceremony and I was truly touched by his kindness and great passion with which he spoke about his creation. “The Pacific Garbage Patch, A Seagull’s Perspective” will educate millions on the impact of plastic pollution.

Carlsbad, CA, USA — 5 Gyres is partnering with Forward Reality, as an advisor on a Virtual Reality (VR) project to educate people about the serious issue of plastic pollution in our oceans.

The “Pacific Garbage Patch – A Seagull’s Perspective” is a VR experience, that focuses on the Pacific Garbage Patch and the effects of plastics on marine and bird life. It is a compelling interactive experience that brings this critical issue to people’s attention.

Uganda Based Nsuk Professional Laundry Limited Provides Great Perks to All Supporters of Their Humanitarian Mission

A businessman with a humanitarian mission has launched the ‘Help Us Build a Laundry For Our African Village’ crowdfunding campaign. The team is raising the funds needed for a start-up business that wants to improve the lives of poor villagers in Uganda.

Kampala, Uganda — Peter Ntaate, the president and founder of Africa based start-up “Nsuk Professional Laundry Limited”, has launched a crowdfunding campaign with a funding goal of $50,000. Ntaate launched this campaign to raise the funds needed to bring sustenance level laundry services to the people of Uganda. There is a lot involved with a project of this magnitude, but the team is very focused on making it a reality. Ntaate states, “We want to help the people in Uganda by offering laundry and dry cleaning services in the hopes of improving their lives! This may be a simple service to most people who take clean clothes for granted, but for our community, it is a real luxury.” The funds raised with this campaign will be used to purchase land, hi-tech laundry equipment, and service vehicles.

The humanitarian benefits that Nsuk plans to bring to the poor villagers in Uganda do not end with clean clothes. The team has a long term goal with their focus on improving living conditions, and making a real difference in the villages that they grew up in. Once the company is off the ground, Nsuk plans on using the profits to build low cost housing for the families in need. They have a goal of building 10 low-cost houses in the first year at an approximate cost of $13,500 per home. In years 2-5 they plan on building at least 20 homes per year, and completing their mission in year 6 with the final 10 homes. So, by the time the team has completed their mission, they will have built 100 self-contained houses for the local people in the Namayumba – Wakiso District of Uganda.

The team has been working very diligently on all of the essential groundwork for Nsuk Professional Laundry Limited and they are now ready to begin the process of making this humanitarian dream a reality which is why they have launched their campaign, and hired a team of crowdfunding specialists to help them spread the word. As an added bonus with this campaign, the team is offering several amazing perks. These perks, which serve as funding incentives, offers supporters the opportunity to back a great cause and get a handmade African souvenir as a reward. Jeff Martin (The Tea Party) Produces Exquisite Debut EP for New Australian Indie Duo, Secret Solis, with Terepai Richmond (The Whitlams) on the Drums

Adelaide, Australia, 2017-May-18 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — Between sold out tours of Australia and Canada in 2016, Jeff Martin (The Tea Party) invited new Australian indie folk / rock duo Secret Solis to record their debut EP, “Deep Down” at River House Studios near Byron Bay. The sessions produced a five track album of indie folk / rock anthems, the tracks resonating with both Led Zeppelin’s driving acoustic rock and the ethereal ballads of Pink Floyd. Jeff’s eastern palette adds an eclectic flavour to the EP that is reminiscent of his early albums with The Tea Party, as in Splendor Solis and Edges of Twilight. Terepai Richmond (The Whitlams) joins the line up on drums providing a John Bonham / Ginger Baker style foundation for the albums songs.

When asked to describe the project Martin says “I have been waiting for years to produce a sound like this at River House Studios. Of all the production work I have done over the last 25 years, including my work with The Tea Party, Secret Solis’ EP “Deep Down” is in the top five of work that I am most proud of.”

Secret Solis was formed in 2012 when established Cairns-based singer/songwriter, Kian Eder met Cally Pysden, a pianist and singer/songwriter from Adelaide. Before meeting Cally, Kian’s music was heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, The Tea Party, A Perfect Circle, and acoustic rock cross-over artists like Ben Harper. Collaborating with Cally added a new dimension to Kian’s vision, elevating the music to new heights with her soaring ethereal vocals the likes of Enya, Dido, Sia and Amy-Lee. Enter Jeff Martin as producer and musician using production techniques straight out of Jimmy Page’s playbook, and Terepai Richmond (The Whitlams) on drums and you have a special magic happening in the mix.

Martin agreed to produce the band after hearing only a small section of their demo, “Speechless Soul” and the rest is history. Jeff plays all the heavy guitars and solos, hurdy gurdy and synths including his boutique theremin. He also lends his voice to the band’s debut single, “Sunshine”. The second single, “Are You Listening?” features Jeff playing an old school rock solo unlike many have ever heard.

When asked what the songs are about Kian says “The songs are based on our personal experiences but ultimately we are aiming to create relatable themes that resonate with everyone. We want this music to heal, uplift and empower people to face and overcome the many challenges of life as our favourite music has done for us.”

The Debut EP “Deep Down” will be released via bandcamp on the 16th of June, 2017.

Model at the age of 90 – Genia Galberstadt, a holocaust survivor and one of the first jewish ghetto uprising fighters, dreams of being a model at her 90th birthday

Tel Aviv, Israel, 2016-Dec-28 — /EPR Network/ — Genia Galberstadt (Born Gittel Drebsky) celebrated her 90th birthday on December 25th. Her biggest dream for this birthday was being a model, looking “pretty and young” for her birthday.

Ms. Galberstadt is a fighter in her body and soul. She has been part of the first jewish ghetto uprising in Lakhva in 1942 and was shot in her shoulder trying to escape the Nazis. Later on she found her sister and emigrated to Israel to start her own family. In the last years she faught cancer and won the fight while raising a family of 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

To make her birthday wish come true, the entire family came together with a team of stylist, make up artist and professional photographer and produced a fashion photoshooting day at Ms. Galberstadt home in Tel Aviv. The photoshoot featured items from H&M winter collection.
