Cybersecurity Insights from Top Expert for CEOs in Malaysia, South Korea, UAE, Sweden, HK and Mexico

Jakarta Film Awards Celebrates Indonesian Cultural Park Anniversary

Jakarta, Indonesia — Jakarta Film Awards (JFA) just announced their lineups for this year. The international film festival held its Awards Ceremony at the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, the Indonesian Cultural Park, celebrating the 43rd anniversary of the National Park. The Awards Ceremony is a blast with red carpets, and crowds flooded packed the place. Kings and queens of Indonesia, many ambassadors, artists, filmmakers, and cultural society attended the big event.

This year, Jakarta Film Awards received 251 films from all around the world. Four films from different countries compete for the Best Film. Here are the nominees:

Give Me the Sun directed by Ban ZhongYi, a documentary about seven aging Chinese women whose bodies and minds were irrevocably scarred by the unspeakable brutality they suffered during World War II, when they were often gang-raped for months until their families could ransom them. Some were lured into sexual slavery by locals working for the Japanese Army, who promised them work in factories or hospitals; others were simply abducted and enslaved in the nearest comfort stations.

The American War, directed by an American veteran of the Iraq War, Dr. Daniel Bernardi, tells the story of the Vietnam War from the perspective of six Vietcong veterans: a soldier, an officer, an informant, a guerilla, a My Lai survivor and the leader of the Long Hair (all women) army. Using rarely seen North Vietnamese archival footage, animated illustrations and interviews set in homes, villages and prisons, The American War gives voice and character to Vietcong veterans.

The Eve directed by Luca Machnich is a short film that tells a story about a young boy who dreams to meet the Santa Claus. This semi-horror film is chosen because the complexity of the mixed color made every frame of this film beautiful yet creepy.

The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) directed by Korean director Inchun Oh tells the story of the most dangerous zone in the world, which was established on July 27, 1953, when the Armistice Agreement was signed during the Korean War. This film stars Joo Min-ha who played as a female officer who tried to catch a jailbreaker in DMZ.

Michael directed by Satrajit Sen is a Bengali film that revolves around a person working man who dreams to be a film director.

Six Excellencies from six countries also attend this event. From Suriname, Ricardo Vanca; Rusia, Alexander Smirnov; Armenia, Lilit Sargsyan; Libya, Massoud Koshly; and from Saychelles. Natasha Dematra Received Hero of Peace Prize

Natasha Dematra, the youngest female director in the world, received Hero of Peace Prize Award from the Royal Palace of Blahbatuh in Bali.

Kuta, Bali, Indonesia — Natasha Dematra, the youngest female director in the world, received Hero of Peace Prize Award from the Royal Palace of Blahbatuh in Bali. The prestigious award was given because of her contribution to peace and humanity. Natasha said that she felt honored to receive it and hopes to keep promoting peace in the future.

The Crown Prince of Blahbatuh, Anak Agung Ngurah Kakarsana, saluted the young director and wished she would carry the honor with her life as she fights for peace and keep her productive.

The Royal Palace of Blahbatuh was founded in 1583. The ancient kingdom consists of a 4.5 hectares area and was built with the concept of Tri Mandala. The Crown Prince is the 25th generation leader of this Kingdom. The Palace is also famous for its original mask of Gajah Mada that is kept sacred and only issued for specific traditional ceremonies or rituals.

Besides receiving the title as The Youngest Female Director in the World for her feature film “Mama, I Have To Go,” Natasha Dematra also received Best First-Time Director from American Movie Awards, a notable Film Festival which also gave an award to Steven Spielberg in 1982. Natasha also won Humanitarian Awards from many prestigious festivals. Her film music “Earth” was chosen as the opening film at the Film Festival in New York and was screened at The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Marrakech, Marocco. In addition to being a director, she is also an actress, singer, producer, film festival jury, and the Ambassador for Women and Ambassador for Peace.

A key example of this unpreparedness is that fact that many of the companies impacted by the WannaCry ransomware attack had not installed patches in their Windows infrastructure that were released by Microsoft months before. Vulnerabilities in commercial software are common; the only solution is to stay abreast of manufacturer’s releases.

In order to help businesses in their cybersecurity planning, the Cybersecurity Framework released in February 2014 following a collaborative process involving industry, academia and government has been widely adopted by many types of organizations around the world, quickly becoming the de facto standard by which cyber security is going to be measured.

“This was a long-awaited event for all Newport Beach residents”, Vovk said shortly after the opening ceremony took place in the Community Room and City Hall open session chambers, where everyone in attendance had a chance to learn more about the amazing new art coming to the Civic Park. “Mayor Muldoon is doing such a great job in bringing arts to the City and meeting the artists in person during and after the ceremony was just very special. Nine new sculptures will decorate the Civic Park and give our City a great makeover”.

Vovk won Ms. America 2017 title with her two-fold platform to fight autism and promote organic living. She is determined to make a difference during her year as Ms. America 2017 by positively influencing her community and getting more women involved in community service and helping others.

“My new favorite sculpture was made by California artist Steven Reiman and is called “Flight”, Vovk continued. “I arrived at the ceremony early and had a chance to walk around the park and look at each sculpture up close, and “Flight” just took my breath away. Such a powerful statement embodied in this piece of art made of stainless steel and bronze. According to Mr. Reiman, the symbolic bird soaring through a ring of the sun represents a future of wonder with the random letters that cover its form questioning the human experience and how we impact our future. I met with Mr. Reiman and his lovely wife Ruth right after the ceremony and I was truly touched by his kindness and great passion with which he spoke about his creation. I Love Arts and now I have a new favorite sculpture in my city created by an amazing artist”, Vovk said.
