Christina Moss Naturals Tells How to Have Great Skin in 7 Easy Steps

Great Skin Begins With These 7 Steps – Christina Moss Naturals

Los Angeles, CA, February 21, 2014 – Christina Moss Naturals. Your face is the most conspicuous part of your skin. You may not think about it but on a daily basis your face tells the world if your skin is being cared for or neglected. Correct skin care that results in a healthier complexion is far easier and less costly than one might expect.

Detergents, artificial fragrances and other chemical based products should never be used on your face. If there is any chemical sensitivity these product will sabotage your skin care routine. And even normal skin can be left stripped of its natural oils and left unnecessarily dry which can lead to a wrinkled and prematurely aging complexion. It’s never too early to choose the right product. So the first thing to ensure is that you are using an organic facial wash or facial cleanser. We make one (our Organic Facial Wash) that is concentrated so it’s long-lasting and ounce for ounce is not only a fabulous product, it is safe and an economical choice.

The second thing is to wash your face properly. Follow these steps:

1. Wash your hands with hot soapy water and scrub your nails with a nail brush.

2. Remove eye make-up. Remove mascara with a dab of olive oil on a cotton pad. This also works for water-proof mascara. Do not pull at your lashes. The idea is to gently slide the mascara off. Then remove any eye make-up with a drop of olive oil on a fresh cotton pad. Avoid tugging and pulling at this delicate area. Be gentle with your skin.

3. Splash your face with warm water. Do not use hot water as it is stressful for your skin and could result in burst capillaries.

4. Squeeze a penny-sized amount of cleanser from the bottle directly onto a wet facial brush, a face cloth or your fingers, and begin massaging the cleanser into your skin in small circular motions. Continue this way across your forehead, face and neck. Remember to be gentle.

5. When done, rinse your face and neck thoroughly with warm water being careful to remove all residue, and finish by splashing your face with cool water to help close the pores.

6. Gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

7. Moisturize your face and neck.

IAPAM Announces Next Aesthetic Medicine Symposium Dates: April 5-6

The IAPAM has announced the next dates for its respected Aesthetic Medicine Symposium: April 5-6, 2014 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (February 20, 2014) — Obamacare promises to make changes that will hopefully help the masses, but clearly there are a number of challenges that physicians will face as a result. However, medical practices can thrive by adding ‘non-insurance based services’ to their portfolio, such as dermal fillers, botox injections, anti-aging treatments, non-invasive body sculpting, and medically supervised weight management. To assist physicians in profitably adding these procedures and programs to their practices, the IAPAM has announced the next dates for its respected Aesthetic Medicine Symposium: April 5-6, 2014 in Scottsdale, AZ.

There has been much talk in the media and physician community regarding the Affordable Care Act, well known as ‘Obamacare’ or the ‘Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’ (PPACA). Many physicians members are concerned about how this new program will impact the health of their patients and the health of their medical practices.

However, there is evidence that by adding non-invasive treatments to a practice, such as botox, dermal fillers, microdermabrasion/microchanneling, chemical peels, body contouring technologies (e.g. skin tightening, fat reduction), lasers for skin rejuvenation/tattoo removal/hair removal, and medically supervised weight management programs (e.g. hCG Diet), would increase the income a practice is able to make as payments will have to be made directly and immediately to undergo these procedures.

To support physicians seeking both clinical and business training in adding these aesthetic modalities, the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPAM) designed its Aesthetic Medicine Symposium to give physicians all the information, forms, DVDs, hands-on training, etc. they need to begin offering aesthetics when they finish the conference.

The IAPAM is the only complete program that offers:

– An Accelerated program; physicians and their staff can be certified over a weekend;
– Clinical training DVDs to take back to one’s practice;
– Board Certified Dermatologists as instructors;
– Internationally Recognized Certification;
– CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits;
– 1 Year of Practice Support (which continues as long as one is a member);
– And much, much, more!

“The IAPAM has noticed a sharp increase in the registrations for its cosmetic procedures hands-on CME training programs like botox/fillers, lasers, medical microdermabrasion, and non-invasive body shaping; along with its medically supervised weight loss program, all of which are not insurance covered and affect a majority of their existing patients,” says Jeff Russell, Executive Director of the IAPAM (http://www.iapam.com). “Patients may not get the long term benefits of a face lift, but with a combination treatment of botox, dermal fillers, weight loss, etc. they can get a great result at a fraction of the price.”

For more information on the IAPAM’s April 5-6, 2014 Symposium with Botox Training, watch this comprehensive video at http://youtu.be/bBQlS0CpOvw or to register for the April 5-6 Aesthetic Medicine Symposium, please contact the IAPAM, at 1-800-219-5108 ext. 704, or visit http://www.iapam.com/aesthetic-medicine-symposium-botox-training.

Colorado HealthOP Encourages Colorado’s Moms to Get Covered

New Healthcare Law Makes Health Insurance More Affordable and Accessible for Mothers and Moms-to-Be

Denver, CO, February 19, 2014 — Colorado HealthOP, Colorado’s first statewide nonprofit health insurance cooperative, reports that 1 in 5 women enrolling in its plans are moms – women with at least one dependent. Because the new healthcare law affords women with children more comprehensive healthcare options that are tailored to their needs, Colorado HealthOP is committed to helping more moms get covered.

“You’ve likely seen the many insurance campaigns featuring moms prompting their adult children to get health insurance, which is important,” said Julia Hutchins, chief executive officer of Colorado HealthOP. “Equally as important is moms – and dads – seeking coverage for themselves. Many benefits of the new healthcare law make it easier and less expensive for moms to get the care they need.”

In 2011, 15 percent of Colorado parents were uninsured, according to data from Kids Count. Uninsured women are more likely to have inadequate access to care, get a lower standard of care when they are in the health system, and have poorer health outcomes, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Colorado HealthOP is dedicated to educating moms about the benefits that the new healthcare law provides, including the following eight facts that Colorado women should know.

1. You may be able to get help paying for your health insurance. Moms who qualify can apply for income-based tax credits to help cover the costs of insurance premiums.

2. You can keep your children on your policy until they turn 26. They can be kept on your plan even if they are married, not living with you or eligible to participate in their own employer’s plan.

3. You are entitled to free preventive care, including birth control. Preventive services, including well-woman visits, screenings for disease, contraceptives and family planning counseling are covered at no charge. Most FDA-approved birth control methods are all covered without co-pays.

4. If you have a baby, your maternity care will be covered. Maternity care is considered one of the 10 essential health benefits that must be covered by all health plans beginning in 2014.

5. If you are a breastfeeding mom, you are covered. The new healthcare law requires health plans to cover the costs of breastfeeding equipment and breastfeeding counseling without a co-pay.

6. You cannot be charged more because you are a woman. In the past, insurers were allowed to charge women a higher insurance premium than men purchasing the same coverage. The new healthcare law prohibits this “gender rating.”

7. You can buy health insurance just for your kids. If you do not want to cover yourself, you can still cover your kids. However, any adults without coverage may be required to pay a tax penalty.

8. Keeping your kids’ teeth healthy will be easier. Pediatric dental care is covered as one of the essential health benefits.

“The new healthcare law makes health insurance more affordable and accessible for many Colorado families,” said Hutchins. “If Colorado parents think their families can’t afford health insurance, I urge them to contact us to learn how they can join a cooperative health plan that is committed to making health insurance more affordable.”

Colorado moms can shop for Colorado HealthOP health insurance plans on the state’s health insurance marketplace, Connect for Health Colorado. For more information about Colorado HealthOP’s plans or to get a quote, please visit COHealthOP.org.

One in 10 Coloradans Choose Colorado HealthOP on State’s Health Insurance Marketplace

Member-Driven Health Insurance Reports Significant Gain Among State’s Newly Insured

Denver, CO, January 25, 2013 — Colorado’s first statewide cooperative health insurance carrier, Colorado HealthOP, has made significant progress in the Colorado health insurance marketplace. The CO-OP announced today that it holds 10 percent market share among Coloradans who enrolled in health insurance on Connect for Health Colorado.

New Colorado HealthOP members point to the insurer’s member-driven philosophy and its focus on preventive care as reasons they chose the CO-OP when shopping on the exchange.

Brian Novak of Denver, a newly enrolled Colorado HealthOP member, hasn’t always had a positive outlook on health insurance. Novak is a type 1 diabetic and cancer survivor. He is also very active and health-conscious, but his pre-existing conditions have made it difficult for him to get quality health insurance coverage in the past. Colorado HealthOP’s non-exclusive policies mean that his medical history is no longer a roadblock to improved preventive coverage.

“When I started researching (on the exchange) I couldn’t find anything that worked for me,” said Novak, the 41-year-old self-employed outdoor adventure enthusiast. “I found Colorado HealthOP. I was intrigued by the idea of a non-profit health insurance company. It resonated with me because they are proactive about keeping members costs down and member health a priority. This was a very different approach to healthcare than I had experienced with other insurance companies. It made sense.”

Colorado HealthOP credits its market momentum to its cooperative business model and value-based benefits. These philosophies and practices allow the organization to provide sustainable healthcare options to Colorado consumers.

These philosophies have clearly resonated with Coloradans. In some areas of the state, the CO-OP’s market share exceeds 25 percent. This is no small feat for a company that began operating just over a year ago.

“We are very encouraged by our enrollment numbers,” said Julia Hutchins, chief executive officer of Colorado HealthOP. “They really affirm that our member-driven, cooperative business model is not only attractive but necessary to Colorado consumers.”

Colorado HealthOP’s current enrollment numbers meet the CO-OP’s membership projections and put the insurer on track to meet its first-year enrollment goals.

The CO-OP has seen the following enrollment trends:

* Colorado HealthOP holds especially strong market share among marketplace shoppers in the following areas of the state:

* Boulder County 27.0%

* Summit County 22.0%

* Park County 21.7%

* Denver County 11.8%

* On average, more than 60 people per day have signed up for Colorado HealthOP policies.

* The average age of Colorado HealthOP enrollees is two years younger than all Coloradans who have enrolled on the state marketplace.

Coloradans can enroll in Colorado HealthOP plans on the state’s online health insurance marketplace, Connect for Health Colorado, through March 31, 2014.

Christina Moss Naturals Tells How to Have Younger Looking Skin Now Part 3 of a 3 Part Series

Important facts to keep in mind are that there are two ways your skin is being subjected to toxins.

Los Angeles, CA, January 19, 2014 – Christina Moss Naturals. In school you may remember learning that your skin is your body’s largest organ.

Quick Skin Detox Secrets:
Important facts to keep in mind are that there are two ways your skin is being subjected to toxins. The first is because of what goes into your body by way of the air you breathe and the food you eat, and the second is by topical exposure to toxic substances.

Breathing polluted air, smoking tobacco and eating unhealthy foods can dramatically affect your skin. The toxins from processed foods and unhealthy air enter your blood stream and can be pushed to the fatty layers of your skin where it sits and can cause stress on the organ, odd rashes and outbreaks of acne. Also, when you use chemical shampoos, conditioners, creams and soaps on your body, their toxic ingredients can be absorbed into your skin. The affect is magnified in the bath or a hot shower when your pores are relaxed and open. Skin can suck toxins right in and they become trapped in fat cells and/or take a ride through your bloodstream.

Not a pretty picture.

However, I have two skin detox tips for you. One will help your body push toxins out from the inside and the other will draw toxins out from the outside. I do not recommend using both on the same day. I do not recommend using either of them just before a date, an event, or if you are planning on having your picture taken as each will leave your skin pink. Fortunately the pinkness will go away after about an hour and it’s only due to increased blood to flood to the skins surface. It is this increased blood flow that makes it possible to push out, or draw out the toxins.

Clay Mask
Use 1 part bentonite clay mixed with 1 part apple cider vinegar. Apply to face and neck (avoiding the eyes and lips). Let dry, then re-hydrate your skin gently with lukewarm water and remove all clay. Wash your face (my facial wash is a good choice here), then apply moisturizer (again, you should try mine because it’s 100% natural).

WARNING: if you have never tried this mask you will be very impressed by the drawing and tightening action it has on your skin. It can also significantly perk up sagging skin!

NIACIN (Vitamin B3)
Niacin is not only an excellent skin detoxifier, it’s good for your heart, and it can help with headaches, anemia and tiredness. Do not take Niacin on an empty stomach. Instead, start out with 50mg near the beginning of your meal, and drink some water. Anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes your skin should flush pink and may feel itchy. Drink more water.If you are very uncomfortable, take a shower. The flush will soon pass.

If you don’t get the desired flush, try 100mg the next day using the instructions above. Do not use niacinamide as you will not get the desired pink flush. It has to be niacin.

Of course, it’s a good idea to take all essential vitamins each day if you don’t already.

So, my last detox secret is no secret at all. Besides eating fresh foods that are non-GMO and do not have chemicals added try to avoid toxic air. Also only use pure products on your hair and skin that do not contain petro-chemicals, like my brand of products, for instance. Not only do I make chemical free hair and skin care products, my moisturizer is currently ranked #1 on Amazon in the beauty section under 100% Natural Moisturizer! Here is the link:

Cochlear Highlights Five Ways Treatment for Hearing Loss Can Change a Person’s Life

From health, to work, to home-life and more, people who seek solutions and treatment for hearing loss have everything to gain

Centennial, CO, January 07, 2013 – Hearing loss is the third most common health condition in the United States, affecting more than 38 million Americans. It can happen to anyone and can occur at any stage of life, negatively affecting everything from work-life to home-life, relationships with friends and family and even mental and emotional health.ii It is for these reasons and many more that Cochlear, the world’s leading implantable hearing solutions company, has released five ways that advanced treatment for hearing loss may be able to transform a person’s life.

With the latest in hearing technology, including cochlear implants and bone conduction systems, those with hearing loss now have the opportunity to enhance their world. Below are five ways that the introduction of sound may be able to transform an individual’s life:

1. Health. Fatigue, tension, stress, depression and even dementiaiv are all physical symptoms cited by experts as ailments linked to hearing loss. From an emotional perspective, people with hearing loss may experience irritability, anger, negativism and diminished psychological health.v However, the good news is when the ability to hear is regained, overall physical and psychological health can be improved.

2. Career. Reduced job performance and earning potential – and the resulting loss of identity and self-esteem – are also effects of hearing loss. The ability for an individual with hearing loss to carry out assigned tasks in a workplace environment can be severely hampered by factors such as background noise, acoustics and unfamiliarity with surroundings. Treatment for hearing loss often helps individuals feel more confident and prepared when they are on the job.

3. Daily Conveniences. Difficulty hearing the TV, alarm clock, radio, conversations over the phone or the words of another person are not just inconveniences but also potentially life-changing challenges that can lead to embarrassment, anxiety and even social withdrawal. People who struggle with these challenges due to difficulties with hearing loss may be able to overcome these everyday obstacles by seeking treatment for their hearing loss.

4. Special Moments. Be it the crack of a bat at a little league game, the soft serenade of wedding music, or collective laughter of friends at a dinner party, many of life’s most wonderful moments can be missed due to hearing loss. This can lead to feelings of isolation and depression. Improved hearing can allow individuals to participate more in life and better enjoy the special moments.

5. Relationships. The inability to share intimate conversations or treasured moments because communication through conversation has been lost may be one of the most devastating effects of hearing impairment. Improved hearing through treatment options, like a cochlear implant or bone conduction system, can afford individuals the opportunity to be more fully engaged with those special people in their life.

As the industry pioneer, Cochlear is a trusted partner in helping individuals better understand the science behind treatments for hearing loss, specifically relating to hearing implants. For those who have questions or are interested in learning more, Cochlear offers a Concierge service, allowing people considering the solutions to be counseled by a licensed audiologist who is also a cochlear implant recipient or a parent of a cochlear implant recipient. Speak directly with the Concierge by phone at 1-800-483-3123, chat online or email Concierge@Cochlear.com.

About Cochlear Implants:
Cochlear implants are a proven medical option for infants as young as 12 months old with profound hearing loss, children aged two and older with severe to profound hearing loss, and adults with moderate-to-profound hearing loss. These devices bypass damaged portions of the inner ear and directly stimulate the hearing nerve, or cochlea.

About Bone Conduction Systems
Bone conduction systems are a proven medical option for adults and children with conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, and single-sided sensorineural deafness and meet the candidacy criteria. Using bone conduction instead of air conduction to interpret sound, the Baha® System does not amplify sound like a hearing aid; it bypasses the outer and middle ear and uses the natural conductive properties of bone to transfer sound.

About Cochlear:
Cochlear is the global leader in implantable hearing solutions. It has a dedicated global team of more than 2,500 people who deliver the gift of sound to those with hearing loss in over 100 countries. Its vision is to connect people, young and old, to a world of sound by offering life enhancing hearing solutions.

The Cochlear promise of “Hear now. And always” embodies the company’s commitment to providing its recipients with the best possible hearing performance today and for the rest of their lives. For over 30 years, Cochlear has helped hundreds of thousands of people either hear for the first time or reconnect them to their families, friends, workplaces and communities.

CU Anschutz Medical Campus Enterprise Launches Revolutionary Drug Test That Takes the Guesswork Out of Drug Use and Misuse

New Urine Drug Testing Technology Will Fundamentally Change the Way Pain Management and Addiction Treatment Industries Manage Patients

Denver, CO, January 7, 2014 — For the first time, treatment providers will be able to see a complete picture of their patients’ drug use and misuse using a revolutionary new drug test developed by CU Toxicology, a newly launched enterprise of the University of Colorado School of Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology. This non-profit laboratory on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo., has developed a groundbreaking and highly sensitive urine drug testing technology that confidently reveals greater than five times more drug use than any urine drug screen on the market.

“Polypharmacy, or the use of multiple drugs at once, is the newest American epidemic; more than one in five U.S. citizens are using three or more prescription drugs, and more than one in 10 are using five or more,” said Jeffrey Galinkin, MD, chief medical officer of CU Toxicology and professor of anesthesiology and pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. “Combine that with the fact that drug overdose death rates in the U.S. have more than tripled since 1990, and it’s clear the industry is in crisis and desperately needs a more comprehensive urine drug test, like CU Toxicology’s, to get a true picture of the issues.”

Industry standard drug screens typically identify between six and 19 drug classes and require treatment professionals to request a second step to confirm results. This cost-prohibitive and time-intensive process also relies on treatment professionals to pick and choose the drugs they want screened, which leads to unsuspected drugs being missed.

CU Toxicology’s complete drug discovery technology identifies and confirms more than 500 prescription, illicit and over-the-counter drugs in one test, giving treatment professionals a more complete picture of their patients’ polypharmacy or multiple drug use. In addition, the highly sensitive test catches drug use that slips under the radar in industry standard drug screens.

For example, the test’s lower sensitivity allows CU Toxicology to identify drug use that is below the standard screen cutoff. In one study, the test reported twice as many positive reports for cocaine, and three times as many positive reports for codeine as a standard screen. In total, CU Toxicology’s complete drug discovery technology reports five times more positive results due to increased sensitivity and a larger catalog of tested drugs.

“Until this point, treatment professionals have treated the trunk without knowing that they’re looking at an elephant,” said Dr. Galinkin. “Industry standard drug screens only catch a fraction of the drugs that are used by pain management and addiction treatment patients, which can lead to ineffective treatment and adverse drug events, such as overdose.”

For several of CU Toxicology’s clients, the test has had a significant impact:

The test has vastly improved Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s pain management and chemical dependency screening process by providing results that are far more detailed and useful to its physicians.

According to Charles Park, MD, a psychiatrist at several Denver-based methadone clinics and owner of his own addiction treatment center, CU Toxicology has helped him discover significant drug use he did not expect to see and would not have known to ask for in confirmation tests.

By employing CU Toxicology’s urine drug test, the practitioners at the Chronic Opiates Clinic at the University of Colorado Hospital were able to precisely identify positive amounts of cocaine at lower concentration levels that were missed using standard drug screens.

Urine drug testing is a standard practice in a variety of treatment settings, including addiction treatment, pain management and employment assessment to verify patient compliance with prescribed medication and to detect misuse of prescription or illicit substances.

“Treatment professionals simply cannot afford to miss multiple drug use in their patients—the stakes are too high,” said Dr. Galinkin. “CU Toxicology’s drug test is the first in the industry that allows treatment professionals to treat with an accurate, complete picture of drug use. It takes the guesswork out of the process.”

CU Toxicology has developed a white paper, “Flying Blind. Traditional UDT: Irrelevant In a Polypharmacy World,” which highlights the reasons traditional urine drug screen technology has become increasingly irrelevant and unreliable as rates of polypharmacy have risen. The white paper is available for download at www.cutoxicology.org/white_paper.

CU Toxicology is a non-profit public/private enterprise of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Using proprietary technology developed in the School of Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology, CU Toxicology offers urine drug testing services to addiction treatment facilities, pain management centers, emergency departments and other medical and clinical settings that require accurate, complete results.

About CU Toxicology:
CU Toxicology’s urine drug test identifies significantly more polypharmacy than standard screens, taking the guesswork out of drug use and misuse. Using revolutionary complete drug discovery technology that was developed at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, CU Toxicology measures and confirms the presence of more than 500 prescription, illegal and over-the-counter drugs. CU Toxicology is a non-profit national reference laboratory that is CAP/CLIA accredited and HIPAA compliant. Visit www.cutoxicology.org for more information.

IAPAM Announces First of its 2014 Symposium Dates: February 8-9, 2014

The IAPAM announces the first of its 2014 dates for its respected Aesthetic Medicine Symposium with botox training, in Scottsdale, Arizona: February 8-9.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (December 17, 2013) — The IAPAM’s guiding principle is enRICHing Physicians Lives, and its goal is to support physicians who are seeking business education, may be over their heads with student debt and now, with reduced insurance reimbursements, are looking for cash-based modalities to add to their practices and to add to their bottom lines. To address this need, the IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium was specifically designed as a “one-stop” program to add non-insurance based medical procedures to a practice, or to start a new medspa. The IAPAM announces the first of its 2014 dates for its respected Aesthetic Medicine Symposium with botox training, in Scottsdale, Arizona: February 8-9.

Lower insurance reimbursements are causing pain points for the physicians, and they are looking for other sources of revenue, just to break even. To support physicians seeking training in aesthetic modalities, the IAPAM’s Aesthetic Medicine Symposium was designed to give physicians all the information, forms, DVDs, hands-on training, etc. that they need to begin offering aesthetics when they finish the conference. As well, it is important to understand that botox is not a profit centre, just a gateway to make money with other aesthetic procedures. Only the IAPAM’s Symposium teaches physicians about this principle ….. no one else is offering this competitive intelligence.

The IAPAM is the only complete program that offers:

• An Accelerated program; physicians and their staff can be certified over a weekend;
• Clinical training DVD’s to take back to one’s practice;
• Board certified Dermatologists as instructors;
• Internationally recognized Certification;
• CME (Continuing Medical Education) credits;
• 1 Year practice support (continues as long as a member); and much, much, more!

“More patients are turning to the more inexpensive non-invasive procedures rather than surgical cosmetic procedures,” says Jeff Russell, Executive Director of the International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine (http://www.iapam.com). “They may not get the long term benefits of a face lift, but with a combination treatment of botox and dermal fillers, then can get a great result at a fraction of the price.”
