Terra Motors decided the world’s first mass production of Electric 3-wheelers which can be charged by AC power. Terra Motors’ prototype is completed this April, and they plan to produce 10,000 sets of electric 3-wheelers in 2013.

In Asian countries, 3-wheeler market has expanded rapidly, because it is cheap and freight is large, compare to cars. For example, in India, the number of three-wheelers is increasing twice by these five-years. And the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh also shows the same transition.

It is thought that electric-ization of the three-wheel taxi in Asia progresses rapidly, because of aggravation of air pollution, the high price and constant shortage of gasoline. For example, in India, gasoline cost has increased also 2.5 times by these ten-years, so the demand to the cut in fuel consumption by electric-izing is serious. By replacing a three-wheel taxi to electric one, the annual income of taxi driver can be raised by about 3 times.

They plan to establish branch office in India in this summer, and aim at world top share acquisition in 2014.

So, an experienced engineer and inventor with several patents under his belt began to try to create that very thing right out of his basement. With the input of many other really smart people, MemClick was born and suddenly remembering things became a whole lot easier.

iSocket in every home in Europe!

The iSocket® family of intelligent devices was launched by Intellectronics, Finland in 2011 and has gone from strength to strength. These are designed to control electrical equipment remotely and/or provide a remote security system for the premises. The essential benefits of these products are reflected in the slogan: “Control your home, Save energy, Save money”. Intellectronics believe that every householder wants, and in fact needs, this type of device in their home. Hence the company motto: “iSocket in every home”.

Intellectronics believe householders want to control their homes remotely, primarily to save money but also due to the heightened awareness of the need to save energy. iSocket GSM Power Sockets achieve this in a new way. The GSM power socket is a generation of a new type of device for just this purpose. GSM power socket technology is not yet commonplace and Intellectronics offer this technology in the belief that it will make the GSM socket as popular as today’s GSM mobile telephones.

In line with this concept, Intellectronics has opened iSocket e-Store Europe to supply the countries where distribution has not yet been established. This is Intellectronic’s first e-Store. Their US and rest of the world launch – iSocket e-Store World – is scheduled for January 2013.

Line Generators for Machine Vision Offer Improved Performance

Coherent Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) has introduced a new range of diode-laser based line generators which deliver enhanced flexibility, unique output optimization capabilities, and extended lifetimes. This series of new line generators, called the StingRay, will enable the construction of faster and more accurate machine vision systems that utilize 3D triangulation. The   StingRay series mates a diode laser with high performance electronics and precision, refractive optics for collimation and line generation covering the widest available range of fan angles. They also incorporate optional diffractive elements for creating complex output patterns.  StingRay models are available with output powers as high as 200 mW and at key wavelengths throughout the 450 nm to 1550 nm spectral range, including the popular 450 nm, 520 nm, 635 nm, and 660 nm lines.

StingRay lasers are the first to feature an industry leading, line intensity non-uniformity down to ±5% in a standard product. This high uniformity reduces the need for image post-processing, and translates directly into increased measurement speed and dimensional accuracy. StingRay lasers are also unique in offering external user focusable optics, which allow the laser line to be precisely optimized for the exact distance over which it is projected.  Additionally, the StingRay’s optomechanical design permits “dynamic line balancing,” enabling simple correction of any intensity bias in configurations where the laser must be used at off axis illumination angles. To further enhance usability, Stingray lasers also include an internal “health monitor” that indicates when a diode module is approaching end of life, thus allowing for planned replacement, and avoiding production downtime due to an unexpected failure.
