A New Day for It’s God’s Choice: Back in Business

Officially Announcing that It’s God’s Choice Christian Bookstore Is Back in Business Locally and Online.

Landover, MD, USA — After about a year, It’s God’s Choice has finally officially re-opened with a new store location in Landover, Maryland. The new location is 7838 Central Avenue, Landover, MD 20785, inside of D’s Hairstylists. The store still carries hard to find black gospel sheet music, songbooks and accompaniment tracks as well as church supplies, books, bibles, etc. The store takes orders for choir and pastoral robes too. “What we do not have on hand, you can probably order at our website, http://www.igccb.com,” says Carolyn Walker, Store Music Buyer.

The storefront was closed some years ago and operated only using the website and by phone on April 1, 2013. Economy troubles have hit Christian bookstores very hard. Lots of Christian Bookstores have gone out of business even though some had been in business for over 25 years. It’s God’s Choice Christian Bookstore has been in business since 2002. “Unfortunately, overhead expenses increased far faster than sales. We just could not keep up,” says Carolyn Walker, Store Music Buyer. “Most of our sales are website-related even though we had an antiquated website which did not take credit cards at first,” says Thelma Lee, Store Manager.

As of April 2017, most of the store sales were generated from the new improved website and from loyal customers who phoned in their orders. For some of the churches in the local area, It’s God’s Choice staff personally delivered orders depending on the size and went out to churches to measure choirs for robes. Most of It’s God’s Choice customers receive their merchandise via the mail. The store accepts payment through the website, over the phone as well as with PayPal.

Now customers can once again come to It’s God’s Choice and enjoy the shopping experience. For those who cannot come to the store to get sheet music, they can use the website. In fact, customers can download some sheet music directly from our website. This could not be done before with the old website. “Basically everything that we sell in the store, we will have on the website. We have over 4,000 products online and are adding to the site almost daily,” states Thelma Lee.

The phone number is the same, which is 301-499-5799. The website address is still http://www.igccb.com and the email address is still christianmusicandbooks@yahoo.com.

In 2002, It’s God’s Choice Christian Bookstore was founded by Thelma Lee, a former employee of Rejoice Christian Bookstore and she has over 20 years of experience in this field. It’s God’s Choice specializes in special orders and carries black gospel CDs, sheet music, songbooks, piano instructional books, bibles, books, greeting cards, gifts, church supplies, and children items. In addition, the store special orders pastoral and choir robes. For further information regarding this move, please call 301-499-5799 and ask for Thelma, the store manager. Please note phone problems: We can’t retrieve voice mail messages left on the phone, so please call back. Thanks.

Lazy Tree Ranch Consulting With Disc Golf Professionals on Course Design

Brewpub, food, bark park, playground all compliment the setting and add to the family friendly atmosphere.

Liberty Hill, TX, USA — Lazy Tree Ranch (http://www.lazytreeranch.com), a new events venue currently under construction in west Liberty Hill near Bertram, is consulting with disc golf industry professionals on the construction of a disc golf course at the events facility. The course, yet to be named, will have challenging holes with a fair amount of obstacles (trees).

Managing partner and co-founder Carl Braun is excited about the prospects. “We were approached by the disc golf community about creating something special at Lazy Tree Ranch. The greater Austin area is the epicenter for disc golf enthusiasts worldwide. Adding disc golf to our venue along with the Hops and Grapes brewpub, bark park, soccer field and play area will definitely put us on the map.”

Professional Disc Golf Association @PDGA players Thomas Stricklin and Kristen Womac are ecstatic about the opportunity.

“Thomas and I visited Lazy Tree Ranch a couple weeks ago and were amazed with the possibilities for a professional disc golf course on the property. As PDGA amateurs, with numerous career wins we have always wanted to participate in a project of our own where we had control over the creation of a world class disc golf course. Now, having invested as co-owners we’ll have a chance to put our stamp of approval on the project along with other disc golf enthusiasts,” noted Kristen “Kiki” Womac.

@LazyTreeRanch was founded in 2016 to become the area’s largest concert and events center. The 10.6 acre track is covered in one-hundred year old oak trees and has a huge grass field (150,000 sq ft) for soccer, events, concerts and of course disc golf. The Hops and Grapes Brewpub with beer, food and wine is expected to open later this year.

PDGA disc golfers can see a video and invest in the Lazy Tree Project starting at $100 on http://www.wefunder.com/lazytreeranch in a Regulation C crowdfunding effort. Special perks for disc golf enthusiasts will be offered. Terms on the website.

Lewis Builders of Carmel Specializes in Designing and Building Custom Homes, Remodels and “Aging-in-Place” Renovations

John Lewis found his calling as a college student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, though it wasn’t how you might expect a career path to unfold.

Carmel, CA, May 18, 2017 — John Lewis found his calling as a college student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, though it wasn’t how you might expect a career path to unfold.

Flash forward to 2017, as Lewis is now the founder of Lewis Builders, which specializes in designing and building custom homes, doing design/build remodels and “aging-in-place” renovations for retirees, older people and those with health concerns. His firm employs 15 people and moved into new offices in The Barnyard Shopping Center in Carmel.

“We have a passion for helping those who are aging and just want to keep their dignity and independence in their own homes,” says Lewis, who recently added two partners to the firm, Kenny Boyd as Chief Financial Officer and Scott Julian as Chief Operations Officer. “We’re trying to educate the public on design/build and aging-in-place.”

Design/build, simply put, is the same company doing the design and construction, from conception to completion, of a custom home or remodel. Design/builders have a better conception of the real costs of a project and how to fit that into a client’s budget; it saves significant time in the overall project; and the construction team works collaboratively with the design team.

Aging-in-place is customizing homes with innovative, aesthetically pleasing solutions that alleviate the physical challenges of aging or injury.

It’s not just a specialty, Lewis Builders is a credentialed expert in CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist). A program of the National Association of Home Builders, the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry: home modifications for the aging-in-place.

“When people discover that cost of living in an assisted-living facility can be $10,000 or $20,000 a month, making modifications to their own homes becomes a no-brainer,” he says. “The ultimate result is that people are able to live comfortably and safely in their homes into their later years, rather than moving into costly assisted-living facilities.”

Born and raised in Monterey County, the youngest of five children, Lewis’s passion for the creative process of designing and building custom homes and remodels that started with small repair jobs in college, has now become his life’s work.

He realized that his passion and talents were for the entire creative process, seeing what others couldn’t, taking on challenging design and construction issues, and developing his expertise at flipping homes successfully.

Lewis’ first construction job was in 1995 in Salinas, but his first significant project, one that launched him on the “entrepreneurial side of the business,” was in 2002 when he built a small, two-bedroom bed and breakfast unit for the owner of the winery where he worked in Templeton, California.

That project resulted in a referral for another job. It also got him rethinking his career path.

“For the first time I was making more money in construction, than making wine,” he says. But he kept at his viticulture studies and in time he moved to Napa to work at a winery. But he also became a licensed contractor and incorporated as owner of his own firm, JL Home Solutions.

In Napa, he worked by day at the winery and vineyards and on construction on nights and weekends. Once again, he found he was making more money doing construction on nights and weekends than his winery job.

He moved back to Monterey County in 2008, but the recession was hitting the country hard and construction jobs were few and far between, so Lewis started a business as a property inspector.

And in order to establish himself in the community and build a foundation for his construction business that was temporarily dormant, Lewis dove into the business community, taking leadership courses and joining the boards of such agencies as the Central Coast Builders Exchange, Charitable Trust Committee for Monterey County Association of Realtors, Planning Commissioner, Rotarian, and Salinas Chamber of Commerce.

It was as a property inspector that he met one of his partners, Kenny Boyd. Lewis met Boyd when he was tasked to inspect a duplex Boyd had purchased. The two, who both attended Cal Poly and were both majoring in ag business, not only hit it off, they partnered in a real estate project, which lead to more projects, and to eventually becoming partners in Lewis Builders.

Lewis met Julian, who at the time owned his own medical equipment company, through his involvement in aging-in-place design and construction. Julian also recently became a partner in Lewis Builders.

Lewis closest and most intimate partnership was the result of an almost chance meeting at a three-day financial seminar in San Diego. That’s where Lewis and his future wife Tammy met when they were involved in a group exercise together.

“We both discovered we had found the one,” says Lewis about the encounter. “We went there to find out about financials and instead we found love.”

John and Tammy were married six months later and they now have two sons, 2 1/2 years old and six months old. And, Tammy, in addition to her primary duties as a mother, is now also Lewis Builders’ Creative Director.

The New Version of The KISS ORM for Android has Arrived

Software Tree announces version 2.0 of JDXA ORM product for Android.

Campbell, CA, USA — Software Tree, an innovator in data integration technologies, today announced JDXA 2.0, a versatile and lightweight Object Relational Mapping (ORM) software framework for Google’s Android platform. JDXA significantly simplifies and accelerates the development of mobile apps by eliminating the need for low-level coding that involves tedious SQL programming. On top of an already available comprehensive set of ORM features, JDXA 2.0 adds performance improvements and new APIs to further provide flexible mapping capabilities like bulk updates, lazy fetching, and auto-initialization of primary key attributes.

JDXA offers a non-intrusive POJO (Plain Old Java Objects) friendly programming model to Android developers. Based on some well thought-out KISS principles, JDXA easily supports complex object modeling including inheritance, one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many relationships. JDXA also offers convenient persistence for JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) objects.

“JDXA is one of the easiest Android ORM frameworks I have worked with so far,” says Lakitha Samarasinghe, Mobile Tech Lead at Fidenz. “I was up and running with JDXA in literally a few minutes. I am really impressed by its non-intrusiveness and comprehensive feature set, especially its support for JSON object persistence.”

“We take delight in increasing developers’ productivity with practical products,” says Damodar Periwal, Founder, President & CEO of Software Tree. “Thanks to great feedback from many JDXA users, we have carefully enhanced our product and the associated documentation. These enhancements and many new sample projects will make it easier for mobile developers to write intuitive object-oriented code to efficiently access SQLite databases on Android devices.”

THE LARGEST RANSOMWARE CYBER ATTACK EVER

According to The New York Times, malicious software, transmitted via email and stolen from the National Security Agency, exposed vulnerabilities in computer systems in almost 150 countries in one of the largest “ransomware” attacks on record.

Cyberattackers took over the computers, encrypted the information on them and then demanded payment of $300 or more from users to unlock the devices. Some of the world’s largest institutions and government agencies have been affected, including the Russian Interior Ministry, FedEx in the United States and Britain’s National Health Service.

As people were fretting over whether to pay the digital ransom or lose data, attackers might be pocketing more than $1 billion worldwide before the deadline runs out to unlock the computers.

While most cyberattacks are inherently global, this one seems more virulent than most. It had spread to all corners of the globe, with Russia hit the worst, followed by Ukraine, India and Taiwan, said Kaspersky Lab, a Russian cybersecurity firm.

Infinity SAV USA Nominated for the Katerva Award

Infinity SAV USA has been nominated by Katerva Award for sustainable innovations in Clean Energy.

Seattle, WA, USA — Infinity SAV USA (http://www.infinitysav.us) has been nominated for the Katerva Award for sustainable innovations in Clean Energy. Katerva Award (http://www.katerva.net) is often referred to as the Nobel Prize of Sustainability. Gary Tripp, President of Infinity SAV USA says their, “generator will stop Climate Change by eliminating CO2 from electricity and transportation and will cut the cost of power by 90%.” Katerva selects the companies with innovations that will change the market and the environment for the better and Infinity certainly does.

Infinity SAV USA technology claims it technology will replace fossil fuels for electricity and transportation. The company’s working generator prototype is powered by permanent magnets and produces 3 kW of excess energy. The generator has been demonstrated to hundreds of people including engineers and academics.

The Infinity generator technology will benefit everyone – the poor villager with no electricity, who has to walk miles for water and the clogged cites breathing polluted air. Infinity’s generator powered solely by permanent magnets will replace fossil fuels for electricity and transportation.

Infinity SAV USA Incorporated is developing an electric generator to power homes and small businesses for as little as $0.02 per kWh. The goal is to stop climate change, save the environment, and save money.

The company has uploaded several video demonstrations to YouTube and those videos have received 500,000 views, and many many requests to purchase generators. The company plans to use this technology as the starting point to develop a 20 kW generator that will completely power a house or small business.

The company’s founder and inventor, Andrii Slobodian, explains that the generator has permanent magnets in the stator and coils of copper wire in the rotor. When a magnet approaches a coil of copper wire, it induces a like polarity in the coil. North induces North and North repels North and that causes the rotor to spin and creates power.

Skeptics say it is impossible because it violates the Law of Conservation of Energy. Infinity responds by pointing to their working prototype. Magnets are caused by quantum mechanical spin of unpaired electrons. The company believes their generator conforms with Law of Conservation of Energy on the quantum level. Electron spin may be the source of the quantum effect causing this new source of energy. (Electrons don’t spin, it is just shorthand for “maintaining their magnetic dipole moment.”)

The company is using the crowdfunding site Fundable.com to raise money to complete the engineering in the US for a bigger version of the generator.

The many benefits of this new energy source include cheap, clean, renewable, 24/7 electricity with no CO2. These generators could be used to power a house, charge the battery of electric cars, or provide power in remote locations. Decreasing the cost of electricity and stopping pollution will benefit everyone, especially the poorest among us.

Edgar Perez, author of Knightmare on Wall Street and The Speed Traders, provides essential cyber security awareness training to reduce the risk that employees and partners can fall victim to sophisticated phishing or social engineering methods and unknowingly serve as entry points into the firm’s information and data systems.

New York City, NY, USA — An unusually sophisticated identity phishing campaign that targeted Gmail users and sought to gain control of their entire email histories was revealed by Google last week.

The worm, which arrived in users’ inboxes posing as an email from trusted contacts, asked users to check out an attached “Google Docs,” or GDocs, file. Clicking on the link took them to a real Google security page, where users were asked to give permission for the fake app, posing as GDocs, to manage users’ email account. To make matters worse, the worm also sent itself out to all of the affected users’ contacts reproducing itself hundreds of times any time a single user fell for it.

While the worm caused havoc for millions of users because of its unusually sophisticated construction, firms that trusted cybersecurity expert and trainer Edgar Perez would have been spared the expensive and embarrassing experience of having their information compromised. Mr. Perez’s programs target boards, CEOs and employees and turns them into the company’s first line of defense.
