Tokyo’s Terra Motors decided the world’s first mass production of Electric 3-wheelers in Asia

Terra Motors decided the world’s first mass production of Electric 3-wheelers which can be charged by AC power. Terra Motors’ prototype is completed this April, and they plan to produce 10,000 sets of electric 3-wheelers in 2013.

In Asian countries, 3-wheeler market has expanded rapidly, because it is cheap and freight is large, compare to cars. For example, in India, the number of three-wheelers is increasing twice by these five-years. And the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh also shows the same transition.

It is thought that electric-ization of the three-wheel taxi in Asia progresses rapidly, because of aggravation of air pollution, the high price and constant shortage of gasoline. For example, in India, gasoline cost has increased also 2.5 times by these ten-years, so the demand to the cut in fuel consumption by electric-izing is serious. By replacing a three-wheel taxi to electric one, the annual income of taxi driver can be raised by about 3 times.

They plan to establish branch office in India in this summer, and aim at world top share acquisition in 2014.

Aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars brings in the convertible season 2013 with a feature previously considered impossible. Effective immediately the rear windows can be raised on the Mercedes SLK R172 while the top is in the down position. By factory it is only possible to raise them with the convertible top in the up and closed position.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), April 22nd, 2013 — The SmartTOP convertible top add-on convenience module offered by Mods4cars enriches operation of the top with a host of useful features. The top can be opened or closed while driving at slow speeds and top operation is possible from afar by using just the factory remote fob. Adding one-touch to the mix ensures that no more holding of any switch or button is necessary. The module also comes with a few useful bonus features.

Mods4cars continuously works on improving existing products and starts this year’s convertible season with a feature highlight. It is now possible to control the rear windows on the Mercedes Benz SLK R172. By default the rear windows stay permanently down while the convertible top is open. Now it is possible to raise all four windows, with one-touch convenience, when the top is fully down.

RemoteKEY Convenience Add-On Module Offered by Mods4cars for BMW 1 and 3 Series

Effective immediately, automotive aftermarket specialist Mods4cars offers a convenience module for 1 series and 3 series BMW. The add-on kit provides extra functionality and useful features. Amongst other things it is possible to open and close the windows and the sunroof with the original key fob remote and one-touch commands.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), April 08, 2013 — Mods4cars now offers a RemoteKEY convenience module for BMW 1 series (E81, E82, E87) and 3 series (E90, E91, E92). This module comes as an add-on kit which provides added features and functions to BMW owners.

The product allows opening or closing of all windows via one-touch operation from the original key fob remote. Additionally the RemoteKEY can be used to remotely control the sunroof. The factory keys do not need to be altered or reprogrammed.

The product also offers a couple of extended functions that make everyday life easier: BMW-optional electric side mirrors can be folded and unfolded by remote in addition to the regular pushbutton. Doors can be set to unlock automatically when the ignition is turned off, making the double-pull on the door handle obsolete. A supplied buzzer can be mounted under the hood for a beep signal when locking or unlocking the car.

Added security is provided by the option to connect the red LED under the rearview mirror in cars with no factory alarm system. The RemoteKEY controls this LED in exactly the same fashion as the factory alarm system would, thereby giving the appearance as if the alarm were present.

On cars with the keyless “comfort access” option and active sequential door unlocking it is possible to use a touch sequence to unlock all doors on demand without the need to use the key remote.

The entire module can also be temporarily deactivated while still retaining all user configuration settings. All RemoteKEY modules are equipped with a standard USB port for easy PC or Mac configuration or firmware updates. Support software and updates are available free of charge online.

SmartTOP Convertible Top Add-On Module Now Available for the New Porsche Boxster 981

The aftermarket module allows one-touch opening and closing of the soft top by using the original factory key fob remote. SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for Mercedes-Benz SL R231 Now Available

The aftermarket convertible top module offered by automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars is now available for the new Mercedes-Benz SL R231. It allows drivers to open and close the top while the car is moving at slow speeds with the touch of a button. Additionally the top can be operated from the original key fob remote with one-touch convenience. A custom designed plug-and-play wiring adapter is part of the kit.

Las Vegas, NV (USA) – January 25, 2013 — Effective immediately, the SmartTOP convertible top controller offered by Mods4cars for the new Mercedes-Benz SL R231 Roadster is available for purchase and promises added convenience for the upcoming convertible season. The add-on module makes it possible to open and close the convertible top while driving at slow speeds (up to 60 km/h / ~38mph). Thanks to the built-in full auto one-touch operation it is not necessary to hold down the console switch; a quick tap is enough.

The module also allows one-touch control of the top from the original factory remote key fob. A quick key combination on the fob is enough to raise or lower the top. Additionally the SmartTOP increases the range for remote top operations. It is not necessary any more to stand right next to the car and hold down the button. No changes are necessary to the original fobs and receiver system.

“Apart from these main features we were able to integrate a couple of neat bonus features into the module.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. The factory provided keyless go system was taken into consideration and you can open or close the top just by tapping the door handle without the need to take the key out of the pocket. Independent remote operation of the windows and starting or stopping the engine while the top is being operated is possible as well.

Like all SmartTOP modules before, this product comes with a full set of user programmable features, including a simple way to turn the entire module off while keeping all user preferences. All programming is done via the fully integrated clear text setup menu which displays all options and settings in the dash display. The module is equipped with a standard USB port for quick and easy PC or Mac based configuration and firmware updates. The support software and updates are available online and free of charge. This is a unique service in this product segment.

Installation of the kit is very simple and straightforward thanks to the included, custom designed plug-and-play wiring adapter. This adapter is manufactured using original OEM quality plugs and connectors and connects the module to the car electronics by simply connecting it in between. No wires need to be cut or spliced; the kit can be removed without leaving any traces.

SmartTOP convertible top modules are available for: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volkswagen and Volvo.
