SmartTOP Additional Top Control for the Chevrolet Corvette C7 is Now Available

As of now the SmartTOP control from Mods4cars is also available for the Chevrolet Corvette C7. The retrofit convertible module enables the operation of the convertible top while driving with one touch function. In addition, the roof can be opened and closed from afar via the cars key.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), October 17th, 2016 — The manufacturer Mods4cars announces that the retrofit SmartTOP control for the Chevrolet Corvette C7 is in stock. “We have listened to the multiple customer inquiries and are happy to now offer a comfort smart solution for the Corvette C7,” says PR spokesman Sven Tornow.

The roof module made by Mods4cars is retrofitted into the vehicle and lightens the convertibles day to day with clever additional features. The SmartTOP enables one-touch operation of the convertible top. The interior button must therefore not be held down throughout the entire top motion movement. Furthermore, the operation of the roof from a distance is made possible via the original vehicle keys. Top motion can then be initiated with a combination of keys on the remote control. No changes to the original vehicle key is required.

Like every SmartTOP, the comfort module also offers useful additional functions for the Chevrolet Corvette C7. “A very special feature is the automatic raising of the window after closing the top,” explains PR spokesman, Sven Tornow. “It is no longer necessary to manually put up the window after the top motion movement. This saves time.”

The aftermarket SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller made by Mods4cars for Peugeot 207CC now ships with an improved Plug and Play wiring adapter harness. The new harness makes installation even easier and locks connections between module and vehicle electronics into place more securely.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), September 26th, 2016 — Automotive aftermarket electronics specialist Mods4cars has overhauled the design of the custom designed Plug-and-Play wiring harness for the SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller kit. The new connectors make it impossible to mate plug and socket the wrong way around. Now instead of simply connecting two plugs, there is a custom designed socket which mates perfectly and securely with the matching plug and includes a locking latch.

Using the Plug-and-Play wiring adapter harness which comes as part of the kit, installation of the SmartTOP module is extremely easy and gives 207CC owners a quick and simple way to obtain the benefits of having a SmartTOP controller installed: The top can be opened and closed while driving up to a speed of 50km/h (~32mph). A quick tap on the top switch is enough to start a full automatic operation. Additionally the top can be controlled from the original factory key remote. No changes are necessary to the original remote.

“We continually work on making installation of our products as simple as possible for our customers.” explains PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “We are very happy that we were able to further simplify the installation process for the Peugeot 207CC kit. Las Vegas, NV (USA), September 1st, 2016 — The SmartTOP additional roof control from the company Mods4cars for the Mercedes-Benz SLC Roadster is now available. The retrofit roof module makes for greater drive comfort with its smart function. With it, you are able to open the convertible top via the original remote control from a distance. The existing vehicle key does not need to be changed for this.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), August 15th, 2016 — The manufacturer Mods4cars has announced the SmartTOP top control for the new Corvette C7. From the end of August, this year, the smart Cabriolet opener will be available. The SmartTOP module enables operation of the roof by one touch. Tapping the interior button, the tops movement is automatically set in motion. Thereby omitting the need for the laborious continuous pressing.

In addition to simpler roof operation from inside the vehicle, the roof can be operated remotely via the existing remote control. For this, pressing a combination of keys on the ignition key is sufficient. With this, SmartTOP customers can already open the top, as they approach the convertible. No changes to the vehicle key is required for this feature.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), May 12th, 2016 — The SmartTOP Add-On Convertible Top Controller for Ferrari California is now available and in stock. The newest product made by aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars makes using the convertible top easier and more fun every day. “We are happy to be able to offer a convenient solution for the Ferrari California in addition to the ones we have for the Ferrari 360 and 430 Spider.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow.

The SmartTOP is a module that comes as part of an add-on Convertible Top Controller kit and can be installed by anyone. It allows owners to control their top from a distance by just using the original key fob remote. A quick sequence of key presses triggers a full automatic top operation. “The top can be opened while still approaching the car. In the opposite case it can be closed quickly at the first sign of impending rainfall, with no need to get inside and turn the ignition on.” Sven Tornow continues. Neither the original key remotes nor any of the car’s safety systems need to be modified.

Additionally, when inside, the top can be opened or closed conveniently with a quick tap on the console switch. It is no longer necessary to hold down the switch for the entire duration of the operation. “This saves time, as the SmartTOP customer can touch the switch, turn the ignition off, get out and lock the car, while the top continues to close by itself.” Sven Tornow explains.

It is possible to program the desired position of the windows after opening the top. Selections include all windows down, front windows up and all windows up. The windows can also be controlled from the remote fob, separately from the top.

By factory default the two small rear windows are permanently in the down position as long as the convertible top is open. One of the SmartTOP features now allows them to be raised. The car owner can decide if he wants all four windows to come up after opening the top for a better wind protection while driving at higher speeds. It also improves on the overall look of the California with top down: Raising all windows gives the Ferrari a more refined and complete look.

An extended mode can be activated, which allows the engine to be started or stopped while a top operation continues. All features can be individually programmed. The aftermarket SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for the Audi A5 Convertible and the R8 Spyder now comes with a new, custom designed Ultra Plug-and-Play wiring adapter harness. With this brand new wiring harness Mods4cars has made the installation easier than ever before. The SmartTOP module allows operation of the top while driving at slow speeds with one-touch convenience as well as from afar with the original key fob remote.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), February 5th, 2016 — Aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars has improved the design of the wiring adapter which ships with the SmartTOP kit for the Audi A5 Convertible and R8 Spyder. The SmartTOP Convertible Top module now comes with a custom designed dual plug-in-between wiring adapter which uses OEM connectors and thereby makes the whole installation process a mere act of connecting plugs.

“We are pleased to be able to offer our SmartTOP for the Audi A5 Convertible and the R8 Spyder now with a further improved wiring adapter.“ says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “As a result all that needs to be done to install our kit is to connect OEM plugs which lock and latch perfectly. Wire taps are not being used any longer.” Sven Tornow continues. “This allows for a quick and straightforward installation of our kit by pretty much anyone in order to enjoy the benefits of the SmartTOP product.”

Once the SmartTOP module is installed it is possible to open and close the top at slow speeds of up to 60 km/h (~38mph) and with one-touch convenience. It is no longer necessary to hold down the top switch for the duration of the operation. Hands can return to the steering wheel immediately.

Additionally it is possible to control the top from the original key fob remote. “On hot days our customers can already open their top while still approaching their car.” explains Sven Tornow. In the opposite case the top can be quickly closed from afar at the first sign of impending rainfall. No changes are necessary to the existing key remotes or receiver system.

The following bonus features are included as well: The windows can be lowered and raised separately by remote. The console top switch direction can be reversed, if desired. On the A5 the side blinkers can be activated during remote top operation. When locking the car, a short horn signal (chirp) can be activated (A5) and an extended mode can be activated which allows starting or stopping the engine while a top operation continues. The entire module can be deactivated temporarily while retaining all user settings for when it is reactivated later on.

All functions can be programmed to individual needs. Configuration of the module is possible in the car or with a Mac or PC. SmartTOP modules are equipped with a standard USB port which allows connecting it to a computer for quick and easy configuration and firmware updates.
