Art Gallery Names Lara Bardsley for Artist Showcase

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that Australian artist Lara Bardsley is now the gallery’s featured artist and she will now be showcased and promoted for the next 30 days.

Jupiter, FL, USA (November 16, 2013) — Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that Australian artist Lara Bardsley is now the gallery’s featured artist and she will now be showcased and promoted for the next 30 days.

Lara lives and creates her art in Melbourne, Australia and she has spent 20 years refining her art practice through studies at Victorian College of the Arts, the La Trobe School and also through mentorships with professional artists. Lara’s practice spans different mediums including film, photography and painting. Each of her works is designed to inspire and reaffirm the beauty and transcendent that exists in the everyday.

Lara states this about her art, “I believe that some things cannot be spoken, only felt and perhaps alluded to through the arts. I completed Masters in Psychology 18 years ago. The experience was formative in that it catapulted me to further my interest to explore the unseen and the unconscious. I have explored these themes further in undertaking training in Jungian and Transpersonal psychology and practicing and exploring Buddhism, meditation and mindfulness practices.”

She continues her thoughts, “It is both an honor and a challenge to be in the unique position to bear witness to the way we seek to find meaning in our lives and my artwork attempts to source and explore my understanding of these themes in visual form.”

Lara also completes her thoughts on her art, “I am drawn to work of Abstract Expressionists such as Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter and the alignment of the human and the Divine in the works of Gustav Klimt, the free gestural language of Twombly, Monet, Kline, among many others. In my own work, I often create images in black and white, distilling movement, light and urgency from the feeling of stillness and unity which I may represent as a gold leaf panel. My images may appear immediate or primitive as they emerge from my inner world. I strive to work a balance between informing the work and allowing it to guide me where it wants to go.”

Lara’s wonderful and vibrant website can be seen here: http://www.larabardsley.com.

Harlequins Enigma Urges Fans to Visit their New Beta Page

Harlequins Enigma Urges Fans to Visit their New Beta Page

harlequins enigma owner åge riisnes has been experiencing troubles with their bandvista page from time to time with slow widgets & widgets that wont work & similar. wix.com might prove a great alternative with up to date features.

Bergen, Norway, November 11, 2013 — harlequins enigma have a beta page up now at url: http://harlequinsenigma.wix.com/home – harlequins enigma urges fans to visit & hopefully adapt to an easier site. the site will be built further upon announces åge riisnes.

the harlequins enigma name is based upon the words expectation as in dolls, their origin, & the origin vs real people. åge once had a lighter with a girl on, showing a little of her face with a yellow rose & two identical females as guardians at each side of her. in the picture also a walking creature that looks like a walking mouse, pregnant. this is part of what harlequins enigma is about: expectation. they value hope for something better, as an eternal flame. There is also a different side of harlequins enigma which åge found as an alternative in the oxford dictionary, where harlqeuins enigma could be a demon rider. thinking of that he wonders if that might be an ancient being that might
be the boss of our universe.

fl studio has dominated åge`s musical world. he sort of treated it like protracker & it has for him a nice feel. i.e. pc keyboard instead of synth via midi, which makes him able to push the buttons without looking at the keys almost. at the same time his ear is sharp & piano roll in fl studio is like a nice game of tetris. his scales & experience got even sharper in 2009 as he went back to the amiga & composed tracks there. when he came back to fl studio again, he felt as he had become a better musician, though he`d prefer to be called a composer. he forgets easily & have become clumsy at times when he try to recall a line, so he don`t perform much. it is easier for him to do an impulse line of tetris instead composing.

åge riisnes sort of speak the language of tangerine dream & jarre & vangelis in the form of arpegiator based tracking & electronical music via the amiga. it is funny that he have made coops with all of them. he cannot explain in details, but after a psychiatry treatment in 1998, he got the impression that psychiatric hospitals are experts on the brain & that they talk much in telepathy on some sort of frequency. this became common as the years passed & when he did his comeback in 2008, he got visitors mentally/spiritually from many of the corners of our globe that led to coops with tangerine dream, jean michel jarre, klaus schulze, vangelis, kitaro, kate bush, dave weckl, chick corea, jan garbarek, atjazz & many others. thanx to them he is much better now then he would have been on his own. åge loves that the music is emotional, that sets you in a mood that can be happy, mellow, sad.. he also like the other parts of the emotions like adrenalin, though he haven`t felt adrenalin in years, he says he is like an empty bottle of fine wine that needs to be refilled. he also like the complex sides of various music genres like uptempo jazz that can
entertain you on pure professionalism.

åge`s main inspiration comes from a lot of bands & artists. when he was 15 he listened to king diamond & metallica. at age 10 ultravox, abba, kiss & joan jett were his favourites. at 27 to the 30`s he enjoyed jean michel jarre, depeche mode, garbage, saint etienne, jan garbarek, anja garbarek, briskeby, yello, enya, bertine zetlitz, royksopp, vangelis, kitaro. he found tangerine dream & klaus schulze a little later.

a video news release can be found on vimeo, youtube, tubewatcher.tv & daily motion. this video is called harlequins enigma & the taboo ghost, & discusses harlequins enigma`s current situation with sales & their partnership with tangerine dream, sade & others, all under a veil of taboo & the hated law of jante.

harlequins enigma`s 20 releases in 2013 will be continued on in 2014 with albums: td sound 2, featuring tangerine dream, klaus schulze, peter baumann & christopher franke – other non tangerine dream involved artists to appear on the album will also be: anja garbarek, katie leung & vangelis. a second album called wanderer will also see the light of day in 2014. this mixed style album will see some unreleased material & features an unreleased vangelis track from 2008 & also a track featuring lenny kravitz. there is also an ep planned with releases from discord. åge says the best track on the album “summer path” has a glitch in the bass department & will need a remaster. this to make åge
sleep at night.

Santa Cruz Artist Mary Karlton Wins Award at California Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts Competition and Exhibition

Santa Cruz artist, Mary Karlton, was awarded second prize in the “Human Factors” category for her painting “Sweet Summertime” by the Madera County Arts Council’s 2013 Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts juried art exhibition.

Santa Cruz, CA, USA (October 10, 2013) — Santa Cruz artist, Mary Karlton, was awarded second prize in the “Human Factors” category for her painting “Sweet Summertime” by the Madera County Arts Council’s 2013 Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts juried art exhibition. The annual art exhibit, held at the Circle Gallery in Madera, was juried by renowned Santa Cruz, California painter and teacher Mike Bailey.

Ms. Karlton’s painting, which depicts a young boy enjoying a juicy red watermelon, celebrates the abundant fruits of the summer season. With its high-contrast chiaroscuro style and shimmery copper and bronze underpainting, the portrait has a vintage feel that simulates the look of old sepia-toned photography of the mid-twentieth century. The painting was inspired by an old photo of her father that Ms. Karlton discovered in a box of family memorabilia.

In 2012, Mary Karlton was awarded first prize for her painting entitled “How Are You M’ Lord?” by the Madera County Arts Council’s Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts exhibition, Pomegranate Festival category.

“Sweet Summertime,” along with the works of many other fine California artists, will be on display at the Circle Gallery until November 16. For more information about Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts and the Madera County Arts Council, visit http://www.maderaarts.org/celebrate-agriculture-with-the-arts-2013.

About Mary Karlton

Mary Karlton studied painting and printmaking in Chicago, San Francisco, and Santa Fe. Her style is eclectic with highly textured works that combine elements of collage, photography, and abstraction. She is captivated by the versatility and expressive potential of acrylic media. Her heroes in the art world are multifaceted and innovative – da Vinci, Lautrec, Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali, Magritte, Klimt, Kandinsky, Schiele, de Koonig, and Richter.

Her work has been displayed in a wide array of exhibitions in Northern and Southern California, including museums, competitions, and galleries, and reproduced in various books and on wine labels.

Mary lives in the scenic coastal town of Santa Cruz, California with her husband, musician, and photographer Peter Sterbach. To learn more about Mary Karlton or to view her online gallery of artwork, please visit http://www.marykarlton.com.

About Madera County Arts Council’s Annual Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts Showing

Originally funded by a grant from the California Arts Council, Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts has been a tradition and source of pride in Madera County and the state of California for 20 years. The contest promotes a broader interest in and understanding of agriculture as an industry while showcasing the work of professional California artists. It is a juried show, with approximately $8,000 in prizes offered across seven categories. In 2013, 180 entries from 79 artists around the state (up 27% from 2012) were received. Jurors selected 93 pieces, including watercolor, acrylic, and oil paintings; pencil and pastel drawings; metal and clay sculptures; photography; and mixed media. 2013 marks the first year that photographic entries were fully integrated into all of the show categories, and the first year that paintings and sculpture were included in the “Human Factors” category.
