Fusion Art’s 2nd Annual “Figures & Faces” International Online Juried Art Exhibition Opened December 1, 2016

Fusion Art is pleased to announce the opening of the 2nd Annual “Figures & Faces” International Online Juried Art Exhibition for the month of December 2016.

Palm Springs, CA, USA — Fusion Art is pleased to announce the opening of the 2nd Annual “Figures & Faces” International Online Juried Art Exhibition for the month of December 2016. The exhibition is now available for viewing on the Fusion Art website (http://www.fusionartps.com).

The “Figures & Faces” exhibition opened on December 1st and featured awards in two categories: Traditional Art and Digital Art & Photography.

For this competition artists and photographers worldwide were encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of the human form – both figures and faces. Artists and photographers, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit.

The Best in Show winners are Joe Horton for his oil on canvas, “Midnight” and Peter Shepherd for his digital photograph, “Sculpture and Artist.”

Both Joe and Peter are Fusion Art’s Featured Artists for the month of December 2016 and, as the Best in Show winners, both artists are also invited to participate in Fusion Art’s 2nd Annual Group Show in Palm Springs, CA, in November 2017.

Other award winners include Second Place winners, Travis Verlaeckt for his graphite pencil on paper, “Cleo” and Artur Golacki for his digital manipulation, “Buona, after Piero del Pollaiolo.” Third Place awards were given to Faramus for his oil painting, “Dreaming with Peter D.” and Kerry Rawlinson for her digital photo artwork, “Am’ker#16.”

The remaining finalists in the exhibition, including four Honorable Mention winners – Cliff Kearns, Peter Broitman, Nicholas Teetelli and Chriss Knight, all exemplify uniquely creative talents and we’re once again honored to showcase their artwork on the Fusion Art website.

The international competition received a diverse collection of quality artwork from artists all around the world, including the US, Canada, England, Mexico, Russia, Australia, Spain, Hungary, India, Barbados, Taiwan, The Republic of Korea, the Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirates. The exhibition will be featured on the Fusion Art website until December 31, 2016.

Founded by Award winning artist, Chris Hoffman, Fusion Art, a fine art gallery located in Palm Springs, California, was envisioned and formed out of a passion for art and the artists who create it. This competition included film, digital, digital manipulation and alternative processes. It was an open theme competition for photographers only.

The gallery received and judged 255 entries from 12 different countries and from 24 different states. The gallery also selected artists for Special Merit and Special Recognition awards as well.

Congratulations to the photographers who have been designated as this month’s winning artists for the 5th Annual “All Photography” Online Art Exhibition. The gallery commends all of the winning artists for their artistic skill and their creativity, as this online art exhibition is indicative of their creativity.

Fusion Art to Host “Art for Animals” Juried Art Exhibition for Charity

Fusion Art will host an “Art for Animals” Juried Art Exhibition Fundraiser for Charity to support local Coachella Valley animal welfare organizations.

Palm Springs, CA, USA — Fusion Art, a Palm Springs contemporary fine art gallery, will host an “Art for Animals” Juried Art Exhibition Fundraiser for Charity to support local Coachella Valley animal welfare organizations.

The gallery has partnered with the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, SNIP, The Living Desert, Animal Samaritans, and the Humane Society of the Desert to host a charity art exhibition during the month of December 2016. All five organizations are 501(3)(c) nonprofits that are committed to the humane treatment of all animals and the preservation of life through no-kill philosophies.

A juried art competition was held July 21st through September 20th. For the competition artists and photographers, worldwide, were encouraged to share their artistic vision of animals, both domestic and wild.

Twenty four winners were selected and will be featured in the exhibition, which will be held in the gallery from December 7th through the 31st. An additional twenty two finalists were also chosen to participate in the exhibition. An artist and fundraising reception will be held the evening of December 10th between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

A daytime event between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. will feature the SNIP bus for visitors to tour and learn about the mobile clinic that provides low cost spay and neuter services to Coachella Valley residents; holiday pet photos by local Palm Springs’ photographer Daniel James Ryan; ambassador animals from the local shelters; and pet portrait artist, Pamela LeGrand, will be on hand taking commissions, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the charities.

Net proceeds from the competition’s entry fees, the gallery’s proceeds from the sale of any artwork in the exhibition and from the sale of a charity calendar will be donated equally to the charities.

Located at 2658 S. Cherokee Way, in Palm Springs’ historic Backstreet Art District, Fusion Art is one of an assortment of artist-owned galleries and working studios that feature diverse collections of original, contemporary art by locally, nationally & internationally recognized artists. Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery (LST) announces their fifth Solo Art Series Competition – “An Opportunity to Shine”.

Jupiter, FL, USA — Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery (LST) announces their fifth Solo Art Series Competition – “An Opportunity to Shine”. This competition will result in an award of 4 monthly solo art exhibitions and the next 8 juried entries will be featured in the gallery’s Artist Showcase Section.

The gallery invites online submission of all 2D and 3D art (including photography) from artists around the world for possible selection for one the Gallery’s monthly solo art exhibitions. This competition will result in a series of 4 monthly solo art exhibitions beginning on January 15, 2017 and continuing through April 14, 2017. The gallery encourages artists regardless of where they reside to submit their best representational and non-representational art to this competition. There is No Theme for this “Solo Art Series” Art Competition.

The top 4 entries will be featured online at the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery during the month of January, February, March and April 2017 and the next 8 juried entries will be featured in the gallery’s Artist Showcase Section. The deadline to apply to this “Solo Art Series” is January 5, 2017.

The LST Gallery website averages 70,000+ visitors a month with more than 225,000+ page views. Out of those visitors, 80% are new visitors to the website. Being juried into the Solo Art Exhibition Series should result in an increase in visitor traffic to the artist’s website.

In addition to the above, winning artists being accepted into the “Solo” Art Series will receive extensive worldwide publicity in the form of email marketing, 70+ press release announcements and wide-spread social media marketing and promotion in order to make the art world aware of the artist’s solo art exhibition. Graehound lives and creates her art in Illinois. Graehound works predominantly in mixed media with an illustrator’s affinity for detail, creating atmospheric pieces that promote nuanced discussion between such broad concepts as disability, self-identification, and the roles we are both ascribed and seek in various comprehensive life systems.

Graehound has been included in national and international exhibitions and publications regarding her work in several different media, particularly drawing and beadwork.

She holds a BFA in Studio Art from Northern Illinois University with an emphasis in Drawing and is currently enrolled in the Interdisciplinary Studio Art Master’s program at Goddard College. Her website is http://www.graehound.com.

Fusion Art is pleased to announce the opening of its first annual Best in Show Winners’ Exhibition.

Palm Springs, CA, USA — Fusion Art is pleased to announce the opening of its first annual Best in Show Winners’ Exhibition. The group show will run from November 2nd through the 26th with an opening reception on Saturday, November 12th from 6-9 p.m.

Sixteen artists from the US, Canada and the UK will be featured in the show: Stephen Baumbach, Aurora Berger, Violeta Brown, Jean Burnett, Graham Coulthard, Bin Feng, Michael Goldzweig, Richard Greene, Margaret King, Joshua Langley, Jessica Manelis, Catherine Palmer, Markelle Palombo, Raquel Stokes, Annie Tsai and Cecily Willis.

The group exhibition features many of the Best in Show winning artists and artwork from the previous 12 months of Fusion Art’s monthly online juried art exhibitions and includes a diverse collection of both traditional art and digital art & photography.

2017 Big Sur Foragers Festival Tickets on Sale and Fungus Face off Participants Announced

Big Sur Health Center announces January 13–15, 2017, as the dates for its annual Big Sur Foragers Festival.

Salinas, CA, November 02, 2016 – Big Sur Health Center announces January 13–15, 2017, as the dates for its annual Big Sur Foragers Festival. This year’s partners include Carmel Valley Ranch, the sister property of longtime host Ventana Big Sur that was just named the No. 1 resort in Northern California in the Conde Nast Traveler 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards. With a resort enhancement project underway at Ventana Big Sur, the Fungus Face-Off and Grand Chef dinner will take place this year at Carmel Valley Ranch, a summer-camp-inspired resort that sprawls across 500 acres and celebrates a deep connection to the land of Carmel Valley.

The event has traditionally served as a fundraiser for the Big Sur Health Center. The community’s non-profit health center will receive the proceeds from the foraging events to help support the continued presence of local healthcare services in the Big Sur area.

New events for 2017 include:

● A Friday night winemaker dinner series will be held at select restaurants throughout Monterey County. La Balena in Carmel will participate, donating 20 percent of the proceeds to the Health Center. Will’s Fargo Restaurant + Bar in Carmel Valley and Alvarado Street Brewery and Grill in Monterey will each donate 10 percent. The Big Sur River Inn will hold a forager-themed brunch, also donating a percentage of profits to the event.

● A vendor’s market will take place following the Fungus Face Off Saturday, January 14th from 1-4 p.m. Meet the local artisans during the Face Off, then shop at the market from 4-5:30 p.m. Each vendor-partner will donate a portion of their sales to the Big Sur Health Center.

● Carmel Honey Company: Jake Reisdorf’s fifth-grade report on bees developed into a successful business model with a non-profit component. Meet young Jake and his mom Becky as they detail the wonders of honeybees.

● The Quail and Olive: Board-certified cardiologist Dr. Stephen Brabeck long recognized the health benefits of olive oil so he started a successful local business centered around a California olive oil experience.

● Salt Roots Soap Company: Meet Stephanie Wise, who started this unique artisan company with her friend Shani Fridrich. Their soaps are handmade in small batches, which creates unique beauty in the variations of design, texture and color.

● Big Sur Sea Salt: Anna Linden runs this new startup, taking advantage of the natural bounty that comes from pristine seawater along the Big Sur Coast.

● Join us for a special evening at Hyatt Carmel Highlands. Executive chef Chad Minton and the culinary team will create a three-course meal paired with wines from Bonny Doon Vineyard. The evening will begin with a reception of passed appetizers, wines from Bonny Doon and live music from Dino Vera from 6:30–7 p.m. At 7 p.m. enjoy a three-course dinner in the legendary wine room. Jupiter, FL, USA — Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its November 2016 art exhibition, the 6th Annual “SeaScapes” Art Exhibition is now posted on their website and can be viewed online. For this theme, seascape subjects included scenes of coastal living, any ocean activities, seaside vistas and any related seashore subjects.

The gallery received and judged 491 entries from 19 different countries and from 31 different states. The gallery also selected artists for Special Merit and Special Recognition awards as well.
