Brian Fox Joins Prepay Nation to Lead Activities in Canada

Financial Services Industry veteran to lead business development as Country Head.

Berwyn, PA (USA), August 15, 2014 — Prepay Nation, a leading provider of cross-border micro-value and prepaid mobile airtime transfers, has welcomed Western Union veteran and innovator Brian Fox to their team. Fox will be responsible for business development in the Canadian market, helping to expand Prepay Nation’s international value transfer and productized remittance services country-wide.

With a background in technology and software engineering, Fox has built his career driving the innovative application of technology to business goals. He started with Western Union Canada in 2001 and was responsible for building up partnerships with banking organizations all over the country, moving the company in a different direction and ultimately establishing one of Western Union’s most important channels.

His vision and passion for innovation have yielded outstanding results and accomplishments. He handled hundreds of millions of dollars per year for Western Union, and while expanding the company’s traditional retail distribution, Fox saw web- and mobile-based distribution as critical to future of the remittance industry in North America. In line with this, he drove a groundbreaking 2006 deal allowing Canadians, for the first time, to send money worldwide from their Scotiabank online banking portal or mobile banking app. In 2011, Fox established the organization’s first Web and smartphone bi-directional remittance service via relationships with the largest telcos in Canada, and the next year solidified a deal allowing all Canadian banks to offer international remittances via Western Union and the Interac E-transfer network. The first bank on the network went live in 2013, changing the remittance business in Canada forever.

“There is an enormous opportunity for Prepay Nation in Canada,” said Fox, “and it is directly related to the percentage of the population coming from other countries. On average twenty percent of the Canadian population is foreign born, but that escalates to as many as fifty percent in large metropolitan centers like Toronto.” The World Bank estimates the immigrant populations in Canada remit in excess of $20 billion dollars per year to their home countries “Immigrant populations that send financial support to their loved ones back home are always seeking convenient, cost-effective channels for doing so, and this is exactly what Prepay Nation does so well. The ability to deliver small values across international boundaries, instantaneously and without fees, is essentially impossible for conventional financial institutions. Prepay Nation’s value proposition using mobile airtime transfer is real innovation and has tremendous value for Canadian immigrants” added Fox.

“Brian is a true innovator, and one we are excited to bring onboard,” commented Anurag Jain, CEO of Prepay Nation. “He has insight not only into the current financial services industry and the Canadian market, but also into the growth trends that emerging technology is creating within the space. We are excited to have him on the team to nurture our existing valuable partnerships in Canada, and to continue developing our vision for the future.”

Cellcom Liberia and Prepay Nation Launch International Mobile Top-Up Worldwide

Partnership offers instant prepaid mobile airtime refills at over 175,000 retail locations.

Berwyn, PA (USA), August 15, 2014 — Cellcom Liberia, one of the largest telecommunications providers in Liberia and the first provider of 4G service in the region, has partnered with Prepay Nation, a leading provider of cross-border microvalue and prepaid mobile airtime transfers, to make mobile airtime refills for its subscribers available for purchase overseas. The move will open up a no-fee form of remittance to the hundreds of thousands of Liberian expatriates who support their loved ones back home.

Liberian emigrants are estimated to number over 500,000, largely concentrated in the U.S.A., Germany, Italy, Holland and UK. According to the World Bank, 20% of Liberia’s GDP comes from remittances as they send millions of dollars home every year to help loved ones with bills and expenses. Pew Research estimates $342 million worth of remittance was received by Liberia in 2012, out of which $166 million was sent from the U.S., and $80 million was sent from Guinea. Cellcom in Guinea and Prepay Nation have enjoyed a successful partnership for the last 2 years, a high-volume collaboration that has inspired corporate confidence in this Cellcom Liberia initiative.

Most of the funds received by Liberia is sent through traditional money transfer organizations, but the price of those channels is steep: it costs as much as $15 in fees to send only $200 from the United States to Liberia, where it must be physically collected, incurring both inconvenience and often risk.

“Mobile airtime is a different way to provide financial assistance to family back home,” said Hervé Perrin, VP of Business Development at Prepay Nation. “With this partnership, Liberian immigrants in the U.S.A., Canada, Europe and the Middle East can now purchase airtime refills for their loved ones’ phones. The full value of the purchase, with no fees subtracted, is received instantly on the subscriber’s mobile.”

“Their hard-earned dollars go further, and immediately relieve of one of their loved ones’ primary expenses,” added Perrin. “It’s a godsend for immigrant populations all over the world, and we’re thrilled to make it a reality for Cellcom subscribers.”

“Our primary focus is always on providing greater and greater value for our subscribers,” said John Vasikaran, CEO of Cellcom Liberia. “We have led the charge in growing and enhancing Liberia’s mobile technology infrastructure, and have twice been recognized as the Best GSM Company in Liberia. Opening up the ability to receive instant, Free of Cost airtime transfers from family and friends abroad is a perfect addition to our offerings. Prepay Nation’s retail network spans 175,000 locations, touching our whole diaspora, and we are confident that our customers will love this new opportunity.”

MAX Agency Press Release – August 13, 2014

Max Agency Toronto has been turning out amazing talent for a decade now and this week’s feature is Jamie McCormick.

Toronto, ON, August 14, 2014 – Max Agency Toronto has been turning out amazing talent for a decade now and this week’s feature is Jamie McCormick. Jamie spoke to us about his three latest experiences on set for a commercial with Blue Cross, a commercial and print advertisement with Goodlife Fitness and a spot in a promotional video for Cityline, all of these bookings were obtained through MAX Model and Talent Agency Toronto.

Jamie had this to say about Blue Cross;

“It was very interesting to watch them film the commercial for Blue Cross because it was a combination of family in the background and lead actors in front, we shot the commercial in French and English and they did the voiceovers while we were there. I’ve ended up with people from all over Ontario and Quebec saying ‘I swear there was someone who looked exactly like you on TV.’ I was wearing a fake cast all day. It was a very interesting experience.”

Jamie, a MAX Agency Toronto Model and Actor, has been creatively and financially rewarded for his efforts as exemplified in his work for Goodlife. Jamie was hired for the commercial component but managed to get print work with the campaign as a result;

“It was awesome! The crew ran an extremely fun and inspiring kind of shoot. It was a lot of work. It was a couple days of shooting. The thing about that shoot is we were trying to beat the rain, trying to shoot in three separate spots, some of it was in door and some of it was out door and we were always on the run. We were shooting everywhere from an arena to a park in downtown Toronto and then back to Goodlife. It’s one of my favorite experiences so far.”

Jamie’s latest spot was for Cityline; A high profile opportunity featuring Cityline celebrities. Jamie appreciated the opportunity immensely and considered it a valuable learning experience.

“Cityline was the most technical shoot I’ve ever done. They were using a special technology with a robotic arm taking the exact same path at the exact same rate as the talent. It was the same technology they use in Hollywood when it looks like the talent is on the screen at the same time as a graphic or animated character but they layer it. It used to be done with a split screen. The camera would follow the exact same path the exact same pace and it looks like the host was walking at normal speed. So it’s really cool. It was the highest end shoot technically that I’ve ever been on.”

Jamie McCormick’s opportunities are frequent and he is offered auditions all the time even with the old black and white snap shot he’s been using as a professional photo, “I can’t get to as many auditions as Max Agency sets up for me because I work full-time and I live out of the city but Max Agency Toronto has done a great job with the time I can dedicate to this opportunity. It’s a lot of fun!”

MAX Agency’s Bookers are currently looking for new Talent! If you are interested we highly recommend visiting our Application page and filling out an application. Wishing MAX continued success in the industry we’re looking forward to the Fall season and future articles featuring Toronto models and Toronto Actors and projects and finding out more about MAX Modeling Agency Toronto!

The Paradigm Shift in Physician Recruitment

The writers at The Ambulatory M&A Advisor tackle this question and explore the ins and outs of the physician recruitment process as well as how it has evolved in recent years.

Dallas, Texas, August 14, 2014 – When considering the future growth of ASCs, where is the concept of physician recruitment going? The writers at The Ambulatory M&A Advisor tackle this question and explore the ins and outs of the physician recruitment process as well as how it has evolved in recent years.

“Physician recruitment is the process by which we recruit physicians who will do procedures in our surgery centers,” explains Blayne Rush, President of Ambulatory Alliances, LLC. “When we refer to physician recruitment, we are not recruiting physicians to invest in the surgery center — at least not until we have established a substantial relationship with them. We want them to use the surgery center for their cases.”

New strategies of physician recruitment are discussed in the article, which can be read in full here. Suffice it to say that when it comes to physician recruitment changes have occurred and will continue to do so. It’s important to place consistent emphasis on this area of growing your practice.

URALCHEM Expands Its Own Fleet of Ammonia Transportation Tanks

In August, URALCHEM’s fleet of rolling stock increased by 100 new ammonia tanks.

Moscow, Russia (August 14, 2014) — In August, URALCHEM‘s fleet of rolling stock increased by 100 new ammonia tanks. A financial leasing contract was signed by URALCHEM-TRANS (part of URALCHEM) and Alpha Leasing. The deal amounted to about 500 million roubles.

The leasing company was chosen on a competitive basis, which allowed URALCHEM to negotiate the best terms for the deal. The new tanks are to be manufactured by the Ruzaevsky Chemical Engineering factory (Ruzhimmash, part of the RM Rail group). URALCHEM-TRANS has long been using Ruzhimmash products. Currently, the company’s fleet includes 533 leased tanks by this manufacturer and another 76 rented.

Expansion of its fleet of ammonia tanks is in line with URALCHEM’s strategy to ensure the independence of its logistics chain. In particular, it is driven by the requirement to reduce its current dependence on leased fleets of other ammonia manufacturers. This allows the company to guarantee uninterrupted supply of raw materials and finished products. By following this strategy in 2012 to 2014, URALCHEM increased the proportion of its own ammonia tanks from 40% to 71% of the total number of tanks in its fleet. In total, URALCHEM’s rolling stock of ammonia tanks consists of 1700 ammonia tanks, of which more than 1200 are owned by the company.

Buying vs. Leasing for Your ASC

The startup of an ASC or other outpatient surgery center is a long and difficult process for prospective owner operators.

Dallas, Texas, August 13, 2014 – The startup of an ASC or other outpatient surgery center is a long and difficult process for prospective owner operators. One of the more difficult decisions that arise early on is the choice that an owner must make between buying a property and leasing space for their center.

The Ambulatory M&A Advisor published an article covering this topic going through the pros and cons of both sides. Dr. John Gomez, Medical Director at Rapid-Med Urgent Care Center, and Adam Maciak, President and CEO at Boston Urgent Care, offer comments that help explain the different scenarios and considerations that an owner should consider.

“If you’re somebody who doesn’t have a background in real estate, I think it’s a better idea to lease, but you still have to know what you’re getting into when you sign that lease,” Maciak said. “I would advise having an experienced attorney review and help you negotiate your lease. A favorable lease can save you significant money and headaches over time. You need to clearly understand the terms of your lease. But, if you are a real estate savvy person, have the ability to purchase, and understand the market you are going into, my advice is to always buy.”

Vendange Carmel Inn and Suites Carmel-by-the-Sea’s Only Wine Themed Hotel Launches New Wine Themed Room By Holman Ranch Vineyards

Vendange Carmel Inn and Suites has partnered with 14 local Monterey County wineries to create a unique guest experience celebrating the bounty of Monterey County’s vineyards.

Carmel, CA, August 13, 2014 – Vendange Carmel Inn and Suites has partnered with 14 local Monterey County wineries to create a unique guest experience celebrating the bounty of Monterey County’s vineyards. Each winery sponsors one room or suite, providing its own creative touches. From the McIntyre Vineyards room with its impressive 100-year-old section of grapevine to J. Lohr’s plush bathrobes, every winery’s room offers a signature luxury experience.

This August, Vendange Carmel Inn and Suites launched its newest wine themed room by Holman Ranch Vineyards.

Background on Holman Ranch Vineyards:
• Holman Ranch is located at the north eastern tip of the Carmel Valley, California. Holman Ranch estate-grown wine varietals are planted on approximately 19 acres of undulating terrain. The wines produced are unfined and crafted to deliver the true varietal of the grape from harvest to bottle. The climate and terroir of the appellation has played a critical part in the success of their wines. The warmth of the inland valley coupled with the cooling marine layer has proven to be an ideal microclimate for the production of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. The vineyards’ Burgundy Clones have thrived from the perfect blend of ideal climate, southern exposure and thin rocky soils.

• The estate wines of Holman Ranch include: Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rosé of Pinot Noir. Carefully hand-harvested, cold pressed and bottled, the Extra Virgin Olive Oil produced from the fruits of our trees has a delightfully distinctive flavor.

The Holman Ranch Vineyards room brings the rustic flavor of Holman Ranch to quaint Carmel-by-the-Sea. The room incorporates design elements similar to what you find on the ranch and provides a comfortable, homey and unpretentious charm! Don’t miss the artwork adorning the wall of the Holman Ranch Vineyard room. You are transported to the vineyard overlooking the beauty of Carmel Valley!

Vendange Rooms Overview:
• The cozy rooms have sleek, modern bathrooms finished with imported Spanish marble.
• Views of both the Inn’s beautiful gardens and the Carmel skyline are plentiful.
• Sleeping areas are appointed with memory foam-top beds, deluxe linens, and high-definition flat screen televisions – not that you’ll want to stay indoors.

Cottage Suite:
• The separate Cottage Suite offers a generous 650 square feet of living space. With a California King bed, 50” high definition flat screen television, gas fireplace and kitchenette, it’s the perfect place for a honeymoon or romantic weekend getaway.

Wine Themed Rooms:
• Blaire Estate
• Holman Ranch Vineyards
• Dawn’s Dream
• Galante
• J. Lohr
• Joullian
• Manzoni
• McIntyre
• Otter Cove
• Pierce Winery
• Tudor
• Twisted Roots
• Ventana
• Cima Collina

Wine Room Highlights:
Twisted Roots King Suite
Twisted Roots believes in letting the grapes speak for themselves. They feel that the work in the vineyard is where the wines get their flavor and overall complexity. As “Green Growers” they follow sustainable farming practices throughout the entire wine making process. In creating the Twisted Roots room, winemaker Josh Ruiz took the same philosophy to design as he does to making wines. Canvas pictures from the Twisted Roots vineyard adorn the walls, custom artwork made from barrels, rod iron and wine bottles show case the bar and more!

Ventana Vineyards:
Ventana Vineyards believes great wines are made in the vineyard, and the Ventana Vineyard has the perfect combination of water, soil, climate, art and science to create superb, world-class wines. Our success is evidenced by the number of awards that we have won over the years on wine made from this remarkable property. In fact, wines from our Ventana Vineyard have earned more medals and awards than any other single vineyard in America. When creating their Ventana Vineyards wine themed room they brought the story of the vineyard to the room.

• Custom canvas prints grace the walls telling the story of the vineyards.
• The winemaker’s story can be found on the room for all to enjoy.
• A Ventana Vineyards wine barrel has been converted into a custom snack bar full of delicious Ventana Vineyard logoed snacks and wine!
• The bed has a logoed throw and the walls have actually small vines from the vineyard affixed to them.

J. Lohr:
Flavorful wines, quite literally “wines full of flavor” are the mission at J. Lohr. J. Lohr’s unwavering focus on flavors sounds so simple, yet it’s surprisingly complex. Achieving the best flavor demands total control, every step of the way, and is the result of planting each site to its ideal grape variety and applying artisanal winemaking techniques, including extended maceration, barrel and malolactic fermentation, among others. When you stay in the J. Lohr room you soak up the flavor of the vineyard. From grapevine wreaths and a barrel on the balcony that offers the perfect table top to enjoy some wine and cheese to art from the vineyard and a custom J. Lohr wine display, you will as if you have been transported to the vineyard.

Additional Rooms with Unique Features:
• McIntyre Vineyards brought in a 5 foot vine from the vineyard that is the masthead for the bed as well as created custom glass lamps etched with the McIntyre wine label. Truly spectacular to view!

• Cima Collina has their vineyard artist create custom painting for the room made from wine barrels and rod iron as well as creating their own logoed bed side stand.
Amenities:

• The Inn offers breakfast daily and wine tasting on the weekends.
• Wines that are typically available only in partner wineries’ tasting rooms are also available to guests for purchase.
• Guests can relax with a glass of wine around the inviting fire pit in the garden and enjoy live music. (available most weekends)

Monterey County Wine Facts:
• Did you know? Monterey County is the one of the largest wine growing and producing regions in California which is one of the reasons why it was named as one of 2013’s “Top Ten Wine Travel Destinations” in the world by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
• In Carmel-by-the-Sea alone, you can spend a weekend wine-tasting without ever getting in a vehicle!
• Downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea has become a bona fide wine tasting destination, with enough tasting rooms to keep visitors busy for a weekend and even more about to open.
• Carmel Valley’s tasting rooms (11 miles from Carmel-by-the-Sea) are not overly crowded and provide a warm, personal interaction with tasting hosts and winemakers.

Vendange is conveniently located a short drive away from the Monterey Peninsula Airport, just off of scenic Highway 1, with free parking for guests. We’re minutes away from downtown Carmel’s shopping and fine dining, scenic 17-Mile Drive, and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. Transitioning from Postini to Vault: A to Z

About a year ago, Google announced that it was sunsetting Postini and transitioning to Vault.

Sunnyvale, CA, August 13, 2014 – About a year ago, Google announced that it was sunsetting Postini and transitioning to Vault. Now, it appears that this pronouncement may finally be happening. If you are Postini client, now is the time that you should prepare for the transition.

The good news is that you do not have to purchase Vault for this transition. If you are a Google Apps user, then all of your archived email data on Postini will be migrated to a new Vault account that will be added to your current Google Apps structure. If you are not a Google Apps user, then you will get both Google Apps and Vault.

How the Transition Works

Transition procedures for Postini Classic customers and Postini Hybrid customers differ.

If you’re a Postini Classic customer:

* You use only Postini; you’re not using Google Apps.

* You use an on-premise (non-Gmail) mail server.

The transition for Postini Classic customers includes updated mail routing when you begin the transition. For more details, please go to: support.google.com/a/answer/3508933

If you’re a Postini Hybrid customer:

* You’re a Google Apps customer who can route mail to on-premise mail servers.

* In addition to Google Apps, you also use Postini message security or message discovery (archiving).

* You log in to the Google Admin console and the Postini Admin Console with separate login credentials.

The transition for Postini Hybrid customers includes reviewing your Google Apps configuration and modifying it if needed, and routing your mail through Google after beginning the transition process. For more details, please go to: support.google.com/a/answer/2938980

Post Transition Issues
After the transition, your Postini archive data will be transitioned and there should be no duplicate data because the Postini to Google Vault transition tool recognizes duplicates. In the event that some messages are duplicated, however, you should be able to delete them from Vault by creating a custom retention rule which matches only that specific message.

If you decided not to do transitioning to Google Apps from Postini, then there is no transition tool available to migrate the data. If your Postini domain transitions to Google Apps then all of the Google Message Discovery(GMD) data will be transferred to the domain’s Google Vault automatically. The only other option beyond this is to export the Postini GMD data from your Postini Admin Console and then use Google Apps Migration for Microsoft Exchange(GAMME) to transfer it to Google Vault.

What About Cost?
The good news, as mentioned above, is that no matter which Postini service you are using, you won’t have to make extra payment for the transition. That means your price will remain same as what you are currently paying for your Postini service; you can use Google Apps and Vault service while saving up to 87% of the cost. If you are currently using Postini GMD service, you will be transitioned to Google Apps Vault. If you are using Google Message Security(GMS) service for your email spam filtering, you will be transitioned to Google Apps for Business. In addition to that, price for Google Apps Vault will stay the same until 2016.
