Rosendin Electric’s Sam Lamonica Chosen as Finalist for 2012 Best CIO by Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and San Francisco Business Times

Lamonica Singled Out for Harnessing Mobile Technology for Construction Sites and Improving Procurement Processes.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (June 29, 2012) — Sam Lamonica, CIO of Rosendin Electric, one of the nation’s largest private electrical contractors and a 100% employee-owned company, was named a finalist for the 2012 CIO Awards by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and the San Francisco Business Times. Sam was one of three finalists in the Private Company category.

The Bay Area Business Journals selected Sam because of his innovative work adapting mobile computing technology for construction and implementing new paperless supply tracking and procurement processes. Under his leadership, Rosendin Electric has been equipping field personnel with mobile technology such as smart phones and iPads and adding mobile construction solutions from vendors like Vela to provide workers remote wireless access to materials lists, blueprints, QA/QC and safety checklists, vendor data, and more. Sam also introduced a new paperless procurement system for handling orders, billing, and invoices that saved the company $80,000 in the first year. With the help of Sam’s technology initiatives, Rosendin Electric has seen a faster turnaround on construction projects, and financial savings for both the company and its clients.

In commenting on his nomination, Sam noted that the best advice he ever received was “about the importance of ‘MBWA’ (Management by Walking Away). You get out of your office, get out of your chair, get in front of your end users often and understand their needs. Be in front of them a lot. I practice that all the time, I teach it to my direct reports, and get great customer service.”

“Sam’s technological innovations have made a tremendous contribution to the ongoing success and growth of Rosendin Electric,” said Tom Sorley, the company’s CEO. “His expertise and collaborative management style make him a welcome member of our management team, and his contributions have had a real impact on our operational efficiency, our responsiveness to our partners and our clients. Sam’s positive approach continues to win the praises of his staff and peers, and we are pleased that he has received this recognition from the Business Journals as well.”

Luxury Travel Ltd to Continue Growth with New Golf Tours and a New Office in Central Vietnam

Golf tours are getting popular in Central Vietnam thanks to new airline access, luxury properties, and golf courses.

Danang, Vietnam, June 28, 2012 – Golf tours are getting popular in Central Vietnam thanks to new airline access, luxury properties, and golf courses.

Luxury Travel Ltd. (www.luxurytravelvietnam.com) is a long established Asian golf specialist and experts in luxury privately guided and fully bespoke holidays in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand. The company has just opened a new Danang office and launched new golf tour package “Central Golf Coast Tour of Vietnam” for travelers seeking challenging links.

The central coast is growing in stature as one of the hottest tourist spots in Southeast Asia, with a variety of attractions, including golf. Tour operators are now tapping into this growth with new products and offices.

While Vietnam hasn’t been historically synonymous with great golf, travelers can fly from Hanoi, HCM city or Singapore, BKK, and Kula Lumpur through Danang’s new international airport which has made the region a ‘must play’ golf experience in Asia.

“On our new 6 day tour, golf lovers will play a few of Vietnam’s world-class golf courses, including Montgomerie Links and Danang Golf Club. You will stay in the best beach front resorts in Danang or Hoi An. Additional historic cultural experiences will be available at Hue and Hoi An, and the stunning coastline of Vietnam will ensure that visitors will take away a truly memorable experience and a great story of newly-discovered adventures. This tour is also suitable for non-golfers companions.” said Pham Ha, founder and CEO of Luxury Travel Ltd (www.luxurytravelvietnam.com ).

For many travel experts, Danang is more appealing than Bali or Phuket and its beach has been voted one of the world’s best by Forbes Magazine.

“There are also two new golf courses, the Laguna Lang Co Golf Club and Ba Na Hills Golf Club, which are set to open in Central Vietnam in late 2012. The past two years have seen the completion of many luxurious resorts along the coastline with names such as Hyatt, the Nam Hai, Accord, Vinpearl, Intercontinental, and Fusion Maia entering the market and offering more choices for golfers. We will launch new exciting golf packages and our efforts are to promote Central Vietnam as a high-end golf destination in Southeast Asia. We are seeing the interest from golfers from the Middle East, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand” added Mr. Ha.

There are 29 golf courses in Vietnam and many others set to open, making Vietnam Asia’s most exciting new golf tourism destination.

Vietnam’s first luxury tour operator/DMC (www.luxurytravelvietnam.com), based in Hanoi, and with offices throughout Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, Luxury Travel is exceptional in designing tailor-made tours and providing unique travel experiences. The Bank of Marion Selects Continuity Control for Compliance Platform

High-Performing Community Bank Looks To Improve Regulatory Efforts And Reduce Costs

New Haven, CT, June 28, 2012 – Continuity Control, the only complete compliance platform built for community financial institutions, today announced that The Bank of Marion (Illinois) has signed on to use the firm’s award-winning solution.

By centralizing all regulatory management activities, the Continuity Control platform enables financial institutions like The Bank of Marion to reduce the resources they spend on compliance while ensuring that they pass regulatory muster and effectively keep up with the steady stream of regulatory changes.

“We’re a high performing bank and we try to do everything right,” says Ray Altmix, The Bank of Marion’s president and CEO, “but compliance still keeps me up at night, even more than a potential problem in the loan portfolio. Though we have done very well on our exams, I can’t say we’ve ever been able to keep up.”

According to Mr. Altmix, by shifting certain responsibilities to the Continuity Control platform, the bank will be in position to do a more thorough job with fewer employees. “I see us getting by on one-half full-time employee less. And I’m not talking about a teller, I’m talking about mid-management.”

The Bank of Marion, with over $330 million in total assets, is the largest locally owned and operated bank in Williamson County. By all key performance measures available through FDIC data, including efficiency ratio, return on assets, and return on equity, The Bank of Marion is an extraordinarily high-performing institution. The bank’s ability to achieve similar returns going forward is complicated, however, by the relentless rise in operating expenses due to increased regulations.

“Even a well-managed community bank like The Bank of Marion can’t keep up with the 58 rule changes that have come down in the last six months, much less the 157 that have been issued in the past year. The costs associated with this kind of regulatory compliance represent an insurmountable challenge to their current business model,” says Andy Greenawalt, Continuity Control’s co-Founder and CEO. “Our platform is the only way for community banks to operate in this complex regulatory environment to maintain reasonable and sustainable overhead.”

Continuity Control’s mission is to help community financial institutions survive and thrive by offering personalized, expert service coupled with innovative technology to relieve the compliance burden. The firm was recognized as one of the five most interesting companies in financial services at FinovateSpring 2010 and recently named among the “10 Tech Companies to Watch” by Bank Technology News.

About Continuity Control
Continuity Control is an award-winning compliance platform that combines advanced software with personalized service to help community financial institutions effectively manage their regulatory burden. Founded in 2008 by distinguished technology, banking, and compliance specialists, Continuity Control’s platform effectively reduces the resources a bank or credit union must spend on compliance while ensuring that it passes regulatory muster. Built just for smaller banks and credit unions, Continuity Control is the most comprehensive compliance management platform on the market today for community financial institutions.
