Before starting, I feel I need to let everyone know that I own a Playstation 3. My roommate has an Xbox and I spent a good amount of time playing Halo 3 and Gears of War with him, so I have great respect for the console.
An important difference between the two systems is the technical specifications. PS3 fans can boast that the system has superior technology and thus better graphics and more memory in the Blu-ray. Xbox 360 can argue that their collection is most popular games like the Halo series and Gears of War.
From what I’ve seen personally, does not seem a big difference in graphics between the two systems, my friend and I each have copies of Call of Duty 4 and Grand Theft Auto 4 for our respective systems and I can ‘t honestly say that there a difference between my PS3 and xbox 360 games. This is just one of my theories, but when the games are made for both systems, the boundaries in graphics can only go so far as the XBOX 360 can handle at the same time, the PS3 could go a lot further, but again, is only a theory.
After discontinuation of HD DVD, which more or less thought that Xbox 360 was made by me and realized that if people had the option of purchasing a gaming system and DVD player (on PS3) which would although not seem to bother the sales of the XBOX 360 is both.
Most people, like me, was demolished when it was revealed at E3 that Final Fantasy XIII was coming to the Xbox, I have to say I am very impressed with Microsoft’s strategy of buying the rights to the games once exclusively maintenance for the ps3 games and Xbox games for the PS3 library.
Despite Microsoft’s aggressive plan to obtain the rights to the games once exclusively for the PS3, I’ll make a prediction that Sony have the advantage in the console wars of a few main reasons: we have not begun to see the hardware capabilities of the PS3 is capable of. Blu-ray disc can store more memory than the 360 DVD. In addition, the guide is free or cheap PS3 games, and Xbox Live is about $ 50 a year.
So ultimately, my advice to the person looking to buy one of these consoles fine would invest in a PS3, since you probably have a useful life longer than the 360, but if you can find a cheaper 360 extra getting it not be a bad idea either.
