Or worse, the moisture can short circuit the camera causing it to shut down.

Condensation should then form on the bag instead of the equipment, and the silica gel should dry up the condensation.

Another way to keep a camera from overheating is to limit the use of camera settings. Specialized features, especially in newer digital cameras, require more battery usage and therefore can generate more heat.
