Men NOT Allowed to Say “NO” on Sadie Hawkins Day

Sadie Hawkins Day allows single women to ask for what they want… and get it!

San Rafael, CA, October 18, 2013 — Contact: Tom Andrews, 415/507-9962

Once a year single women can ask for whatever they want…and get it. At this year’s annual Sadie Hawkins Day Dance in the San Francisco Bay Area, Friday, November 15, 2013, 8pm-Midnight, men are not allowed to say no if a woman asks them to dance. The party is at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 101 McInnis Pkwy, San Rafael CA. Contrary to popular belief, Sadie Hawkins Day does NOT occur on Leap Day. It happens every November 15.

“Single women have lots of complaints about single men,” says Rich Gosse, Chairman of The Society of Single Professionals, the world’s largest non-profit singles organization. “One of the biggest is men who turn them down when asked to dance. How rude! At our Sadie Hawkins Day Dance, men will NOT have that option. Sadie Hawkins Day is a wonderful opportunity for single women to be assertive and get what they want in life, rather than follow the disastrous strategy of playing hard to get.”

Rich Gosse, author of eight books on dating, is available to the news media to discuss Sadie Hawkins Day in the context of bachelorettes fulfilling their romantic needs, by calling 415/479-3800.

Sadie Hawkins Day, an American folk event, made its debut in Al Capp’s Li’l Abner strip on November 15, 1937. Sadie Hawkins was “the homeliest gal in the hills” who grew tired of waiting for the fellows to come a courtin’. Her father, Hekzebiah Hawkins, a prominent resident of Dogpatch, was even more worried about Sadie living at home for the rest of his life, so he decreed the first annual Sadie Hawkins Day, a foot race in which the unmarried gals pursued the town’s bachelors, with matrimony the consequence. By the late 1930s the event had swept the nation and had a life of its own. Life magazine reported over 200 colleges holding Sadie Hawkins Day events in 1939, only two years after its inception. It became a woman-empowering rite at high schools and college campuses, long before the modern feminist movement gained prominence.

Adults of all ages are welcome. $10 at the door includes dancing to current hits and oldies. Dressy nightclub attire is recommended. Anyone who wishes more information about this and many more singles parties may visit http://www.ThePartyHotline.com or call 415/507-9962.

Choosing Lovers Keynotes Singles Convention

World-famous forensic psychiatrist reveals the secrets to choosing the right lover.

San Rafael, CA, May 23, 2013 — Contact: Rich Gosse, 415/479-3800

Dr. Martin Blinder, MD keynotes this year’s North Bay Singles Convention, Friday, June 21, 2013, 7:30pm, at the Flamingo Resort Hotel, 2777 Fourth St, Santa Rosa CA 95405. His topic is Choosing Lovers, which is the title of one of his books.

“When romantic love strikes the heart, even the most profound and self-assured of thinkers are left dumbfounded and uneasy,” says Dr. Blinder. “It is startling just how little we really know about a process that captures so many, so often, so easily, and to such irrevocable effect. Rarely have we enough data to fathom why in heaven’s name our friends pick the mates they do. And usually, we’re too close to our own no less perplexing romantic experiences to see them with any greater clarity.

Choosing Lovers is an all-encompassing picture of romantic relationships in all their richness and complexity, providing answers to questions everyone considers including:

– Can I really find a soulmate?
– Why of all the people in the world have I fallen in love with him/her?
– Do I send out some signal that attracts one kind of lover and puts off others?
– What are the warning signs of love in danger?
– What are the different stages of love?
– How do I rekindle love and intimacy in my relationship?

Dr. Blinder, a world-famous forensic psychiatrist, is also the author of Playing with Fire: Confessions of a S*x Therapist. He is available to the news media for interviews by calling 415-454-0928 or emailing drmartinblinder@yahoo.com.

#1 New Years Resolution for Singles is to find a romantic partner. The 2013 Singles Convention enables to do so.

San Rafael, CA, December 8, 2012 — Dr. Wendy Lyon will keynote the 2013 Singles Convention, Friday, January 4, 2013, 7:30pm, at the Holiday Inn Tri-Valley, 6080 Regional Street, Dublin CA 94568. Her topic is “Finding Love in 2013.”

“Finding love is always the #1 New Years Resolution singles have,” says Dr. Wendy, “other than losing weight. Most singles believe they haven’t found the love they want because All the good ones are taken or There’s something wrong with me. Neither is likely to be true. The reason they haven’t found a lasting relationship is because they have said YES at the wrong times to the wrong people in the wrong situations. The solution is to learn when and how to just say NO!”

Wendy Lyon, Ph.D., is a psychologist, master relationship and life coach, author, and speaker who has guided hundreds of people to personal and professional success. All I Want for Christmas…Is a Loving Partner Keynotes Holiday Singles Convention

“No one wants to be single over the holidays,” says Rich Gosse, Keynote Speaker at the Holiday Singles Convention, Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Silo’s at the historic Napa Inn, 530 Main Street, Napa CA 94559. His topic is “All I Want for Christmas…Is a Loving Partner.”

San Rafael, CA, November 09, 2012 — Contact: Tom Andrews, 415/507-9962

“No one wants to be single over the holidays,” says Rich Gosse, Keynote Speaker at the Holiday Singles Convention, Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Silo’s at the historic Napa Inn, 530 Main Street, Napa CA 94559. His topic is “All I Want for Christmas…Is a Loving Partner.”

“The holidays are the BEST time to search for a romantic partner,” says Mr. Gosse. “Singles are much friendlier and open to new friendships during this time of the year. Rather than wait for Santa to bring a loving partner, singles should follow three rules during the holidays:

1. GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. “Most singles stay home seven nights a week and complain they never meet anyone.”

2. GO WHERE THE DUCKS ARE. “Most singles go where the ducks AREN’T. They make the mistake of going where there are lots of people of their own sex to compete against, and very few of the opposite sex from whom to choose.”

3. INITIATE CONTACT. “Some poor fool has to make the first move and risk rejection.”

No Rejection for Singles at San Francisco Event

For the first time men can avoid their greatest fear at a singles event: rejection. The No Rejection Dance, Friday, November 16, 2012, 8pm-Midnight, is at Neptune’s at Pier 39, San Francisco.

For the first time men can avoid their greatest fear at a singles event: rejection. The No Rejection Dance, Friday, November 16, 2012, 8pm-Midnight, is at Neptune’s at Pier 39, San Francisco. Women will compete to see who dances with the most men that evening, with prizes.

“Singles events are often little different than high school dances in the gym, with the boys on one side and the girls on the other,” says Rich Gosse, who has produced over 1,000 singles dances worldwide over the past 35 years. “Everyone is still scared to death decades later. The men complain about rejection. The women are upset that they sit at their tables all night, impatiently waiting for ‘gutless wonders’ to ask them to dance. Both sides are equally unhappy. Tonight’s party is an attempt to solve this perennial problem.”

Rich Gosse is America’s foremost authority on finding a romantic partner. He is the author of eight books on the subject, including You CAN Hurry Love, Singles Guide to America, and A Good Man Is EASY to Find (“This is a great book!” Oprah Winfrey). Advanced Degrees Party Highlights National Singles Week, Sept 16-22

Well-educated singles have a tough time finding a compatible romantic partner.

San Rafael, CA, August 25, 2012 — (For Immediate Release) Contact: Tom Andrews, 415/507-9962

Single professionals of all ages with a Doctorate or Master’s Degree are invited to meet new single friends, Thursday, September 20, 2011, 7-9pm. This annual event is being held this year at Yoshi’s, 1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco CA 94115. $10 at the door includes a fun Mixer Game, accompanied by complimentary appetizers for those who arrive on time. There is free parking.

“Only 7% of the adult population in the U.S. has an advanced degree,” says Rich Gosse, Chairman of The Society of Single Professionals, the world’s largest non-profit singles organization, “so it’s tough to meet friends on your own educational level. Single women with advanced degrees find it particularly difficult to find a romantic partner, because most men are intimidated by highly intelligent, well-educated women. That’s why we schedule this party. Single Professionals with advanced degrees deserve the opportunity to meet their peers. Studies have revealed that marriages are most likely to survive if both spouses share the same educational level.

“This year’s Advanced Degrees Party takes place during National Singles Week, September 16 – 22, 2012, the only week dedicated to the recognition of the special contributions of all singles,” says Mr. Gosse. “The first National Singles Week was in 1982.
