“Singles are the Rodney Dangerfields of our society,” says Rich Gosse, Chairman of The Society of Single Professionals. “They can’t get no respect. Singles are the victims of systematic discrimination, particularly in the areas of Taxes, Insurance, Retirement Benefits, Employee Benefits, Housing, and Unemployment Benefits. That’s why we are proud to be the official sponsor of National Singles Week, September 15-21, 2013, the only week dedicated to the recognition of the special contributions of all singles. The first National Singles Week was in 1982. The week has been declared by official proclamation of Governors throughout America, and is listed in Chase’s Calendar of Events, a directory of such events for the country.”

“Latest statistics reveal that there are 90 million single adults in America,” says Mr. Gosse. He is America’s foremost authority on the single lifestyle. He is the author of eight books on this subject, including Singles Guide to America, You CAN Hurry Love, and A Good Man Is EASY to Find (“This is a great book!” – Oprah Winfrey). His expert advice has been featured by ABC, BBC, CBS, CNBC, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Cosmopolitan, Playboy, Playgirl, Business Week, The London Times, The Australian, The New Zealand Herald, and hundreds of other media outlets worldwide. Rich Gosse is the first candidate in history to campaign on a “Fairness for Singles Platform,” when he ran for Governor in California’s historic Recall Election in 2003.

Advanced Degrees Party Highlights National Singles Week, Sept 16-22

Well-educated singles have a tough time finding a compatible romantic partner.

San Rafael, CA, August 25, 2012 — (For Immediate Release) Contact: Tom Andrews, 415/507-9962

Single professionals of all ages with a Doctorate or Master’s Degree are invited to meet new single friends, Thursday, September 20, 2011, 7-9pm. This annual event is being held this year at Yoshi’s, 1330 Fillmore Street, San Francisco CA 94115. $10 at the door includes a fun Mixer Game, accompanied by complimentary appetizers for those who arrive on time. There is free parking.

“Only 7% of the adult population in the U.S. has an advanced degree,” says Rich Gosse, Chairman of The Society of Single Professionals, the world’s largest non-profit singles organization, “so it’s tough to meet friends on your own educational level. Single women with advanced degrees find it particularly difficult to find a romantic partner, because most men are intimidated by highly intelligent, well-educated women. That’s why we schedule this party. Single Professionals with advanced degrees deserve the opportunity to meet their peers. Studies have revealed that marriages are most likely to survive if both spouses share the same educational level.

“This year’s Advanced Degrees Party takes place during National Singles Week, September 16 – 22, 2012, the only week dedicated to the recognition of the special contributions of all singles,” says Mr. Gosse. “The first National Singles Week was in 1982. The week has been declared by official proclamation of Governors throughout America, and is listed in Chase’s Calendar of Events, a directory of such events for the country.”

Using Science to Choose the Right Loving Partner Keynotes Silicon Valley Singles Convention

Rachel Heller, author of Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find–and Keep–Love keynotes this event on April 14, 2012.

San Rafael, CA, March 27, 2012 — Contact: Tom Andrews, 415/507-9962

Author Rachel Heller will keynote the annual Silicon Valley Singles Convention, Saturday, April 14, 2012, 7:30pm, at the Clarion Hotel, 1355 N Fourth St., Downtown San Jose CA 95112. Her topic is “Using Science to Choose the Right Loving Partner.”

“Unfortunately, most singles leave their love lives to chance,” says Ms. Heller. “They repeat the same mistakes, over and over, choosing incompatible partners. The alternative is to discover which of three attachment styles you have: secure, anxious, or avoidant. Then you can choose someone with a compatible style, rather than be doomed to repetitive, negative interaction. This is all based on real science, not slickly packaged personal opinion.”

Rachel Heller is the co-author of the acclaimed and recently released Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find-and Keep-Love. The book has been featured by Newsweek, London Sunday Times, Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, Cosmopolitan, Scientific American Mind (cover story), Time, Elle, Glamour, Women’s Health, Marie Claire, and many other publications. She and her co-author, Dr. Amir Levine, are available to the news media for interviews and may be contacted at attachedthebook@gmail.com.

The Silicon Valley Singles Convention begins at 7:30pm with the Keynote Address by Ms. Heller, followed by a Dance Party, 9pm-Midnight. The cost is $20 at the door. Adults of all ages are welcome.

The Convention is co-sponsored by The Society of Single Professionals, the world’s largest non-profit singles organization; and by Singles Supper Club, the Silicon Valley’s premiere dining club for unattached professionals.
