FED Publishing Releases New Book, “Rumbles from the Ocean: It’s Time to Wake Up” by Ben Korgen

Rumbles from the Ocean: It’s Time to Wake Up, by Ben Korgen, enlightens and teaches about a complex subject and deals with the “what should we do?” problem concerning our world’s oceans in today’s changing climate.

Providence, RI, USA — Ben Korgen’s Rumbles from the Ocean: It’s Time to Wake Up is an introduction to the world ocean for those with their hearts in the humanities, curiosity in science and concerns about the environment.

This warm-hearted introduction to the world ocean and its solvable problems is accessible for readers without specialized backgrounds in science, mathematics or statistics. The author focuses on how the world ocean functions normally, what has happened to it in recent years and what humans can do to help the oceans recover from its wounds and prosper far into the future.

First Edition Design Publishing Releases New Book, “Love in the Crisis Mode” by Ben Korgen

Love in the Crisis Mode, by Ben Korgen, is the fourth book in the five-part Sorghum series of quirky hero, Rudy Tripp.

Providence, RI, USA — Ben Korgen’s Love in the Crisis Mode is inspired by the people and events at University of Minnesota – Duluth where Korgen played college football. Korgen takes from school football the myths and foibles, facts and fictions, to weave a quirky tale of romance around his unlikely hero – Rudy.

“Great book I highly recommend you read this I thoroughly enjoyed it”

As seniors, Kara and Connie were excellent students who applied for admission to three prestigious universities and were rejected by all three. Their attempts to apply for late admission failed because acceptance depended on spring semester grades that fell badly because of Rudy’s discussion club expansion demands. As the finesse-loving Sorghum High head football coach, Rudy resigned in mid-season and was replaced by a “guts football” head coach using methods that made Don play like a robot, killing talent scout interest in offering him the scholarship he needed to go to college. Sorghum High Principal Horace Dowd, Kara’s very large and influential father, was convinced Rudy prevented his son-in-law from getting a scholarship by resigning in mid-season and venting his wrath in an incredibly violent act.

Ben Korgen has had a highly varied career. He served in the US Navy, earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota Duluth, earned a master’s degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, then coached high school football, earned a PhD in Oceanography at Oregon State University and had a long and rewarding career in Oceanography at the US Naval Oceanographic Office, the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and Tulane University in New Orleans.

Keywords – discussion, clubs, rejection, blame, talent, charge, disfigures, police, cell, blood

The ebook version of Love in the Crisis Mode ISBN 9781506904023, published by First Edition Design Publishing (http://www.firsteditiondesignpublishing.com), is available on-line wherever ebooks are sold.

First Edition Design Publishing Releases New Book, “High Spain Drifter” by Mark Krieger

High Spain Drifter, by Mark Krieger, follows cyclist Mark and his wife Roz, as they travel around Spain and Portugal’s Iberian Peninsula.

Rosebud, Victoria, Australia — Having previously cycled around France, Mark Krieger’s High Spain Drifter continues his and his wife Roz’s journey throughout Europe, this time around Spain and Portugal’s Iberian Peninsula.

Following the footsteps of the Tour de France and Spain’s Vuelta a Espana through the Pyrenees, Mark recalls many of cycling’s memorable moments; some inspirational, and some that the sport would rather forget.

Across the border into Spain, summer is approaching, a time when Catalonians are in festival mode. Travelling west, there is a treacherous ‘goat track’, near Oviedo, that Mark’s determined to conquer after two failed attempts.

Arriving in Portugal, the pair are enthralled by the country’s history; events like the ‘Age of Discoveries’, the 1755 earthquake, the Carnation Revolution and the humble beginnings of Fado. Drenched in history and abundantly alive in the present, Lisbon proves an awesome exception to avoiding large cities when cycling.

Just as evocative in its own way is the small Spanish town of Trigueros. Once the sun goes down, its previously near-deserted streets come alive.

Continuing through the south of Spain, the travellers visit the Sierra Nevada range. It’s here where Mark tries to fulfil another obsession; to cycle up its highest peak, Pico de Veleta. Much higher and harder than any mountain he’s ever dreamed of tackling, its final kilometres of treacherous road make the thought of continuing seem foolish.

An avid cyclist, Mark has travelled widely throughout Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe. Now a retired schoolteacher, these passions, as well as his life-long interest in history, have become the catalyst for his writing. His and his wife’s journey around France in 2009 – portrayed in his book, Lycra, Lattes and the Long Way Round – was the first of many wonderful adventures in the years ahead. Today, Mark and Roz live happily on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Genre – cycling, travel, vuelta a espana, history, cinema, mountains, portugal, spain, fado, reconquista

FED Publishing Releases New Book, “My Crazy Undercover Life: Secret Agents Battling Evil in America” by Mike Clawson

My Crazy Undercover Life: Secret Agents Battling Evil in America, by Mike Clawson, peers into the often bizarre world of an undercover agent fighting the forces of evil in America.

Goodyear, AZ, USA — Mike Clawson’s My Crazy Undercover Life: Secret Agents Battling Evil in America is a very unique memoir about the wild life Mike had as an undercover agent battling the evil goings on in the U.S during the late eighties and early nineties. It is about how he found a huge conspiracy going on with murderous-drug dealers who thought they were CIA agents and may have been hooked up with the Mafia and just may have been planning a civil war. A crazy time and he feels he has to tell the world his story!

An amazing read and a real page turner!

A quote from Mike – I signed a DoD contract so I had to wait 20 years until I could write about it… I also go in to the wild times I had growing up in the seventies, all the crazy party times, crazy people I’ve met, playing in a rock band, some military stuff, seeing some UFO’s and the karma I learned from remodeling houses. It’s very wild with a lot of new information I’m sure people will be really amazed to read about.

I was born March 21, 1968 in Derby, KS a beautiful suburb of Wichita. I grew up in a big family of hippies. I have two years of college, and I was under cover Department of State helping to get rid of bad people here while working on houses, remodeling and painting. I also played lead guitar in a Punk/Heavy-metal band. I’m not crazy though some people around me and my life sure turned out that way…

Genre – memoir, suspense, thrilling, spy-novel, murder-mystery, entertaining, satirical, thought-provoking, educational, suicide-prevention

The ebook version of My Crazy Undercover Life: Secret Agents Battling Evil in America ISBN 9781506904153, published by First Edition Design Publishing (http://www.firsteditiondesignpublishing.com), is available on-line wherever ebooks are sold.
