Dana Point, CA, February 29, 2012 – Fish for Life, a nonprofit organization on a mission to enhance the lives of special needs people through life-changing fishing trips, will be participating in the Dana Point Festival of Whales on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
This is the 41st anniversary of the festival drawing more than 100,000 visitors from around the world each year to celebrate the return of the California Gray Whale, a once endangered species. The day’s events will be held around the Dana Point Harbor form 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on March 3rd and 4th and again on March 10th and 11th. Festival-goers can enjoy a variety of fun and educational booths and activities including whale watching excursions, sand sculpting, an outrigger canoe race, a classic car show, fine arts show, live music, and the parade.
Because of its involvement and positive influence on the local special needs community, Fish for Life was invited to participate in the parade by a Dana Point official. Leading Saturday morning’s parade will be Grand Marshall and former NFL quarterback, Jim Everett. He will be followed by 100 members of the Fish for Life family. As a dedicated fishing team leader for Fish for Life, Jim will be wearing the nonprofit’s t-shirt in the parade.
“It’s so exciting that people see the value in Fish for Life and are interested in promoting the program. To have 100 members of the Fish for Life family marching in this parade will be an awesome site to see!” said the special needs organization’s founder, Jim Holden.
