January 4, 2011 – Gert Strand AB has, under the brand Aromhuset, developed 20 essences for flavouring carbonated water. These 20 are aimed at private consumers wanting either to flavour home-carbonated water, or to save money by adding flavour to shop-bought soda water. The flavours have become very popular thanks to their healthy properties, and now six of the most popular flavours are being launched in larger pump bottles for use with water dispensers in workplaces across the country.

Pomegranate is a rising star among the classic flavours, having a sophisticated, mature quality that is appreciated by many for its originality and somewhat distinctive taste. The other flavours in the range are blueberry, raspberry, peach, melon and apple – flavours you know and love.

The pump bottle contains 270 ml of essence, which is enough for 58 litres of water according to the standard dose. One pump is enough for the small plastic mugs usually found by water dispensers. They usually contain around 150 ml and are perfect for a quick drink on the go to top up your body’s water levels. Of course you can also fill a larger cup or bottle to take with you, in which case 3-4 pumps is about right for half a litre of water.

Most workplaces today should have a water dispenser available for their employees, as it is extremely important to drink plenty of water if you want to stay sharp and focused. As soon as the body starts to dehydrate you become slow, weak and tired, you will often develop a headache and have difficulty concentrating, all of which of course have a negative impact on your performance.

A lot of people forget to drink enough water, and then when they start to feel a little slow they head directly for the coffee machine for a caffeine hit. Caffeine is a diuretic, which means that it increases the rate of dehydration in the body, creating an evil circle. Instead of coffee, or at least as well as coffee, you should drink a glass of water. Usually this will have the same effect, if not a better one. It is certainly obvious that it is the healthier choice.
