The Last Night of the Proms Comes to an Olympic-Slanted Close in 2012

The closing event of the world’s greatest classical musical festival will this year feature an Olympic Fanfare from American composer, conductor and pianist John Towner Williams. The Last Night of the Proms will coincide with the final weekend of the Paralympic Games and the end to this great summer of British regalia and sport.

The Last Night of the Proms, on 8 September at the Royal Albert Hall, is the most popular and widely accessible concert of the BBC Proms. The world-famous Last Night of the Proms will be shown at special outdoor events all over the UK, as Proms in the Park returns this September 8th.
