Some of the risks people need to concern themselves with when traveling in regards to women’s travel self defense Nepean includes what an attacker looks for in a potential victim, what an attacker wants and doesn’t want in confrontation, hotel safety, plus taxis and buses. One of the biggest topics that SAFE International explores is how most people are too polite, even when their intuition is telling them the complete opposite. The nightlife in many of these countries provides many opportunities for attacks, date rape or kidnappings. SAFE International covers the most common distraction techniques an attacker will use to gain an advantage. Instruction would then move on to verbal strategies in the event that avoidance is no longer possible.  Rather than just teaching to yell at a potential attacker, SAFE International instructors cover a few verbal strategies based on the aggressor and the scenario. The third step is addressing the physical aspect of Nepean women’s self defense for travellers. Physical self defense instruction begins with the advantages of adopting a passive stance rather than an aggressive stance.  SAFE International only teaches gross motor strikes due to the adrenal rush one gets when they are in a highly stressful state such as an attack scenario. They teach a philosophy of “Attack the Attacker” which reverses one from being the Prey, to that of being the Predator. Another philosophy is to attack the head if all avoidance and verbal strategies have failed. Companies ignore Smartphone users online: 7 in 10 have no mobile website – 8 in 10 send no mobile emails

Mobile ‘Will Improve’ Online Conversion Rates

Shenley Wood, Milton Keynes, January 06, 2012 – Despite the rapid growth in popularity of mobile internet use – most smartphone users access websites and 33% make purchases on it (according to EPiServer*) – over two-thirds of companies (70%) have not yet optimised their websites for mobile. And more than 8 in 10 (84%) are not designing marketing emails for mobile.

These are findings from the latest RedEye and Econsultancy Conversion Rate Optimization Report 2011, based on a survey of more than 700 client-side and agency digital marketers.

The report highlights that mobile should play a key role in retaining customers online. Given that just 25% of marketers say they are satisfied with online conversion rates, tablets and phones should not be ignored in mobile conversion strategies – and will even help to boost conversion overall.

It is so easy for brands to damage their online reputation and ignoring customers viewing on mobiles and tablets can be off-putting and potentially impact engagement, particularly in highly competitive marketplaces.

Optimising for mobile is a missed opportunity, especially for retailers, as many are now seeing serious return on their mobile investment.

Mark Patron, CEO at RedEye, explains: “Accepting that consumers often use multiple devices to access email and Internet, if the content is not optimised for the media it directly impacts conversion. For customers trying to view a full scale website on their phone, it’s not just frustrating, it’s all too-easy to head elsewhere to a properly optimised site.”

According to stats from the ONS, there has been significant growth in mobile internet adoption over the last 12 months, with an extra 6m using their phone to access the web over 2010.

Usability testing with mobiles
One way to see if a brand needs a dedicated mobile site is to look at the user experience for mobile visitors. This will identify whether some parts of the site simply do not work, Flash elements for example. Also, while the site may work reasonably well via mobile, there may be hidden barriers to purchase which will only be picked up during testing.

However, only just under a third (28% of companies and 30% of agency clients) say they have used mobile phones and under a fifth have used tablets while testing (16% of company respondents and 17% of agency clients).

Optimising emails for mobile
Another area where companies can improve ROI is adapting emails for mobile devices. A growing proportion of emails (15% upwards) are being opened and read on mobile phones, but still only a minority of companies are optimising emails for mobile.

Despite the potential for improving open rates by optimising emails for mobile, just 14% of companies and 24% of agencies are currently doing this.

Based on the findings of this report RedEye has released a new white paper explaining how to implement a structured process to improve online conversion. This white paper can be downloaded from www.redeye.com .

The research is based on a survey of more than 700 client-side and agency digital marketers carried out in July and August 2011.

Pay Your Family First and Choices Educational Empowerment team up to launch ThriveTime Scholarship Challenge across Arizona High Schools

Best selling author Sharon Lechter’s financial literacy organization, Pay Your Family First, has joined forces with the non-profit group, Choices Educational Empowerment to launch the first ThriveTime Scholarship Challenge at Estrella High School in Avondale on January 18, 2012.

Paradise Valley/Phoenix, AZ, January 03, 2012 – Best selling author Sharon Lechter’s financial literacy organization, Pay Your Family First, has joined forces with the non-profit group, Choices Educational Empowerment to launch the first ThriveTime Scholarship Challenge at Estrella High School in Avondale on January 18, 2012. Schools across Arizona will participate in the initiative through April 2012 and students will be eligible for regional and state level competitions. The student organization, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is holding competitions at their regional and state conferences between January and April for advancement as well.

The challenge invites high school students to compete in game play of Lechter’s award winning board game, ThriveTime for Teens. Developed by Lechter as a tool for teaching money management to youth and families, the game requires participants to navigate real-life scenarios related to earning, saving, investing, spending, and giving. Top winners from all competitions will earn scholarships or cash prizes and move on to the state competition in April of 2012, coinciding with Financial Literacy Month.

A struggling economy and budget cuts at the national and local level have left schools struggling to maintain high quality education, with many families questioning how to finance college expenses. Compounding the issue, studies show that many youth demonstrate a very poor understanding of money and finances. The challenge promotes Lechter’s mission to empower schools, families and youth to embrace financial literacy.

“Managing money is a life skill – and as parents, grandparents and interested adults – it’s up to us to equip our children for the financial world they are going to face. Our ThriveTime Challenge will teach critical, practical skills while awarding scholarships and prizes for well deserving students and their schools,” said Lechter.

Arizona State Treasurer, Doug Ducey applauds this initiative and is expected to appear at the state competition, where students will compete for cash awards ranging from $2500 to $5000, plus chances to earn spots at the regional and state competitions. There is no cost to participating schools, and each one receives a $250 donation from Pay Your Family First in addition to classroom resources that will be used to ensure the sustainability of the program. Every student participating in the competition will receive a take home copy of the ThriveTime for Teens game to share will family and peers.

Members of the Arizona State Society of CPA’s will provide volunteers to facilitate the competitions. Arizona schools interested in hosting a ThriveTime Scholarship Challenge, or organizations interested in supporting the events should contact Angela Totman at Pay Your Family First: angela@pyff.net or visit www.thrivetimechallenge.com
