Future Electronics Promotes ISL8018, ISL80510/05, and ISL8117 from Intersil

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) February 2, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently announced immediate shipping availability of Intersil’s ISL8003x family of high efficiency DC/DC converters.

The new highly integrated synchronous buck regulators that step down 5V rails to POL inputs are as low as 0.6V for FPGAs, DSPs and microprocessors. The feature-rich ISL8018 delivers up to 8A of continuous output current from a 2.7V to 5.5V input supply, while offering up to 97% efficiency and higher integration than competitive devices. The 2 x 2mm ISL8003x family of devices delivers up to 3A of continuous output current from a 2.7V to 5.5V input supply and offers up to 95% peak efficiency for delivering general POL conversions in telecom, cloud computing, industrial, instrumentation and medical equipment.

The ISL80030, ISL80030A, ISL80031, and ISL80031A are pin-compatible and integrate very low RDS(ON) high side PMOS and low side NMOS MOSFETs, which reduces external component count and power losses. With lower die temperatures, these buck regulators allow the system to operate without cooling fans or heat sinks and still deliver a continuous 3A to the load, significantly increasing reliability. They also offer internal compensation, which eliminates additional external components to reduce design complexity. The complete converter occupies less than 64mm2 of board space. And the ISL80031 and ISL80031A offer a light load mode to improve efficiency over all load currents when the system switches to a low power state.

Future Electronics Promotes High Efficiency SOT26 Synchronous DC/DC Buck Converters from Diodes Inc.

Pointe Claire, Quebec (realtimepressrelease) February 1, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently announced immediate availability of high efficiency SOT26 1.5A/2A synchronous DC/DC buck converters from Diodes Incorporated.

Efficient operation combined with the standard pin-out, space saving SOT26 package are key features of the new 1.5A AP65101 and 2A AP65201 synchronous DC/DC buck converters recently introduced by Diodes Inc.

These synchronous DC/DC buck converters from Diodes Inc. are ideal for consumer electronics, including TVs, set-top boxes, computer monitors and home audio. The devices achieve maximum continuous current efficiencies up to 97% with improved efficiency at lower loads ensured by an automatic light load algorithm.

The AP65101/201 buck converters are designed for low voltage regulation, especially in distributed power architectures, and operate from 4.5V to 16V inputs while delivering adjustable output voltage from 0.8V up to 80% of VIN. A low quiescent supply current and integrated high and low side switches with low RDS(ON) both help to reduce power loss. Protection features such as under-voltage lockout, overcurrent, over-voltage and over-temperature, help prevent damage to downstream components and stress-induced premature component failure. The device enable pin also has a high voltage tolerance of up to 6V.

The high level of integration and minimal need for external components combined with the small-footprint TSOT26 package provide considerable savings in both cost and circuit board space.

The Reference is coming – First Presentation of a new class of Weather Sensor

Fellbach, Baden-Wurttemberg (realtimepressrelease) January 12, 2016 – Just assuming there’s a new weather sensor, which is so precise that a normal calibration laboratory isn’t able to measure the accuracy. Imagine there’s an environmental sensor, which could serve as the reference for all other environmental sensors.

With the innovative Lufft WS3000 this comes true: The new, high-quality aluminum housing design, the size and especially the performance show the excellence of this new Lufft product. This makes the innovative weather sensor not only WMO compliant but also attractive for the requirements of airports and meteorological services.

Lufft USA will present the new product sensation at booth 710 of the 96th Annual Meeting of the AMS (American Meteorological Society) in New Orleans, LA, US between January 10 and 14, 2016 for the first time.

Before the official product rollout of the WS3000 and WS3100 in the middle of 2016, they will be tested by the several public European weather services for half a year.

The WS3000 measures air temperature, relative humidity and air pressure. It’s the first product version of a new WS1000 series, which will be followed by WS3100 in 2016 and WS4000 in 2017. They will be supplemented with the high precise Kipp & Zonen CMP10 radiation sensor respectively a high-precision radar precipitation sensor.

The Lufft promises for new weather sensor product line

“The temperature measuring unit consisting of a coiled platinum sensor and a “low-drift electronic” promises a long-term stability of 10MK/a. Also the evaluation of the air pressure measurement is very stable in the long term with 0,05hPa/20a. The heated humidity sensor responses extraordinary fast and without any saturation effect. It supports a 1-point, 2-point and multipoint calibration for each sensor. If desired, a second, redundant pressure sensor can be added.

For the built-in fan, we calculate with a life cycle of 180.000h, which equals 20 years. Moreover, the anodized aluminum housing with the stainless steel mounting holders, the sensor is very robust and contrasts with the other WS family members by design and accuracy. All single parts are fixed with standard Allen screws and can be deployed easily for installation, maintenance and calibration purposes”, explains head of Lufft development Axel Schmitz-Hubsch.

The whole new WS1000-series communicates via RS485 and WIFI interface, which can be de-activated on request. The main advantage of a WIFI interface is the opportunity to view the sensor’s data and to configure it via laptop, mobile phone or tablet comfortably. Alternatively users can receive the data via the UMB-Binary, UMB-ASCII, SDI-12, MODBUS and NMEA protocol.

All interested parties should visit the Lufft Booth Number 710 at the AMS annual meeting in New
