ABOUT THE DEEP LEARNING WORKSHOP FOR TODAY’S STRATEGIC LEADERS
Top executives of organizations around the world have heard a lot about artificial intelligence (AI). Within AI, there is machine learning, a technology that enables computers to get better at tasks with more practice. Furthermore, within machine learning, there is deep learning, which involves algorithms by which computers train themselves using multi-layered neural networks (inspired by the human brain) and vast quantities of data.

This program focuses on practical applications of artificial intelligence for business using TensorFlow, the most widely-used deep learning framework from Google. Deep learning is already impacting every part of business today; in fact, PwC has warned that automation could replace 38% of all American jobs by 2030. Deep learning will continue to be a rich source of insights from ever-growing data sets being evaluated by powerful algorithms, enabling companies to make better decisions.

Deep learning allows computational models that are composed of multiple processing layers to learn representations of data with multiple levels of abstraction. These methods have dramatically improved speech recognition, visual object recognition, object detection and many other domains such as financial trading, transportation, drug discovery and genomics. Deep learning effective and efficiently discovers intricate structure in large data sets by using algorithms to indicate how a machine should change its internal weights and biases that are used to compute the representation in each layer from the representation in the contiguous layer, which have brought about breakthroughs in processing images, video, speech, audio and financial data.

GLDNAcademy.com’s The Deep Learning Workshop for Today’s Strategic Leaders will show attendees how to harness the opportunities deep learning offers, how to identify challenges and how to prepare their organization for what the future holds. From financial trading to autonomous vehicles and from robotics to automated cancer diagnoses, practical applications for deep learning are already here and will impact businesses for years to come.

ABOUT THE CYBERSECURITY WORKSHOP FOR TODAY’S STRATEGIC LEADERS
Despite the ongoing cyber threat that is witnessed through news reports almost on a daily basis, firms are still neglecting proper cybersecurity planning. As information technology becomes ever more complex and Internet of Things applications progressively widespread, cybersecurity is becoming an increasingly important and business-critical field. Unfortunately, a recent study from security solutions provider Resilient Systems and market research firm Ponemon broke down key areas of continued failure for organizations.

The study found that 66% of IT and security professionals surveyed said their firms were unprepared to recover from a cyber attack, and 75% lacked a formal incident response plan. A key example of this unpreparedness is that fact that many of the companies impacted by the WannaCry ransomware attack had not installed patches in their Windows infrastructure that were released by Microsoft months before. Vulnerabilities in commercial software are common; the only solution is to stay abreast of manufacturer’s releases.

In order to help businesses in their cybersecurity planning, the Cybersecurity Framework released in February 2014 following a collaborative process involving industry, academia and government has been widely adopted by many types of organizations around the world, quickly becoming the de facto standard by which cyber security is going to be measured.

GLDNAcademy.com’s The Cybersecurity Workshop for Today’s Strategic Leaders will bring leaders up to speed on the most recent and battle-tested approaches to protect their companies’ valuable information and intellectual property from prying eyes of hackers and competitors. Attendees to the program will learn how to apply the Cybersecurity Framework in their organizations and erect strong defenses for their valuable customer and employee data and intellectual property.

Output Factory for InDesign Improves PDF and Print Workflow Settings

Zevrix Solutions announces Output Factory 2.2.3, a maintenance update to company’s output automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Output Factory automates printing, exporting and preflighting from InDesign and offers batch processing, export as single pages, layer versioning, custom scripts integration and more. The new version addresses an issue in which some incompatible PDF and print output settings could be enabled at the same time, which could result in crashes and incorrect file processing.

Toronto (ON), Canada — Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of Output Factory 2.2.3, a maintenance update to company’s output automation plug-in for Adobe InDesign. Awarded 5 of 5 stars by InDesign Magazine, Output Factory automates and simplifies workflows of printers, ad agencies, and publishing houses worldwide by helping eliminate repetitive tasks through batch processing with time-saving output options.

The new version addresses an issue in which users could enable certain incompatible print and PDF settings at the same time, which could result in crashes and incorrect file processing. The option to output InDesign files invisibly is now disabled when users choose to define output settings in the first document of the current batch as opposite to using an existing PDF or print preset. The combination of the above options could cause InDesign to crash, which is now fixed.

“Using Output Factory is straightforward. You determine your settings and sit back while Output Factory does all the heavy lifting. The time savings are huge,” writes Jamie McKee in a 5-star review in InDesign Magazine. “If you find yourself repeatedly exporting InDesign files in various formats, you owe it to yourself to install the free trial and see just how much time you’ll save using Output Factory.”

Output Factory supports printing as well as exporting to PDF, PostScript, EPS, Flash, IDML, EPUB and several image formats. It offers the following key features:

Batch processing of InDesign files
Output each page as a single document
-Output files to multiple formats with one click
-Variable output file names
-Layer versioning: output layer combinations as single files
-Preflight InDesign documents on the fly
Split InDesign files into single pages
-Preflight final PDF files

Pricing and Availability:
Output Factory can be purchased from Zevrix website for US$169.95 (Lite version $119.95), as well as from authorized resellers and Adobe Exchange. Trial is also available for download. The update is free for the users of Output Factory 2.x, and $84.97 to upgrade from Output Factory 1.x and BatchOutput. Output Factory requires macOS 10.7-10.13 and Adobe InDesign CS3-CC 2018.

Fulham Introduces Universal Voltage Version of Integrated DirectAC LED Engine and Retrofit Kit

New Universal Voltage DirectAC LED Features Integrated Driver and is Suitable for Open and Closed Luminaires With or Without Lenses.

Hawthorne, CA, USA — Fulham Co., Inc., a leading supplier of lighting sub-systems and electronics for commercial and specialty applications, today announced the release of universal voltage versions of its DirectAC direct-drive LED units. The DirectAC LED Engines were released earlier this year in a 120V and with this product release, the same low-profile, self-contained LED engine with integrated driver is now available in a new unit that can support power ratings from 120 to 277 volts.

The DirectAC LED Engine was designed with the driver integrated on the circuit board, resulting in a cost-efficient, highly reliable lighting solution suitable for use in wall sconces or ceiling luminaires, either as new lighting installations or retrofits. The integrated LED driver makes for an extremely low profile, and now with universal voltage support, the same unit can be installed in virtually any setting. The Universal DirectAC LED Engine is suitable for open and enclosed luminaires, and luminaires with plastic and glass lenses.

“More of our customers are working on large construction and retrofit projects with multiple luminaire types, so we are seeing more demand for one-size-fits-all LED light kits,” said Edwin Reyes, Product Director, LED Light Sources, for Fulham. “The Universal DirectAC LED Engine is designed to provide a single, self-contained, low-profile lighting solution that can be installed anywhere in five to 10 minutes.”

Deep Learning Consultant in Mission to Bring Artificial Intelligence Expertise to Millions of Firms

Edgar Perez, author of The AI Breakthrough, How Artificial Intelligence is Advancing Deep Learning and Revolutionizing Your World, and former strategy consultant with McKinsey, partnering with Terrapinn Training in 3-Day Masterclass in Deep Learning in London, Dubai, New York and Singapore.

New York City, NY, USA — According to Jeff Dean, Senior Fellow at Google, no more than a few thousand companies today have the right talent for building Artificial Intelligence, but many more have the necessary data. For Edgar Perez, author of The AI Breakthrough, Knightmare on Wall Street and The Speed Traders, the urgent goal today is to take A.I. from thousands of organizations solving deep learning problems to millions, as soon as possible.

The impact of Artificial Intelligence cannot be underestimated. Millions of jobs will be radically transformed across hundreds of thousands companies around the world. Tasks that still require a heavy human component will be automated, leaving former employees with few options: upgrade your skills or go unemployed. For those who decide to acquire new skills, the sudden increase in productivity will bring a new wave of opportunities that will create jobs we can’t even imagine as of today.

Today firms can deploy Deep Learning frameworks like Caffe, Theano or TensorFlow and not require an army of PhD-educated employees to undertake these efforts. These different frameworks are doing essentially the same thing: allowing firms to write less code to accomplish meaningful tasks. Some of these frameworks are more general than others, but as long as employees can specify the architecture in a framework of their choice, they will be able to get a working model.

“In addition to the required expertise in Artificial Intelligence, companies will need to consolidate data currently available as well as conceive innovative ways to start collecting new data. The strength of their models will be supported by the availability of data representative of the real world,” says Perez. He is a well-known international futurist, Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning keynote speaker who currently offers the world’s first Deep Learning workshop for Fortune 500 firms and private equity groups.

RECENT TESTIMONIALS
• “Thanks for the great work training our employees. You really made a difference!” Global Chief Information Security Officer
• “After working with a number of vendors, we found your team to be in a qualitatively different level. By that I speak to your deep expertise and exemplary professionalism.” Divisional Chief Information Officer
• “The team that Edgar has assembled is top-notch. There are no words to express our satisfaction with your high-quality delivery.” Member of the Board of Directors
• “The program provides a comprehensive approach for any organization to lead in technology readiness.” IT Coordinator

ABOUT THE AI BREAKTHROUGH
Artificial intelligence has been referred as the general ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. The term has indeed been frequently applied to the project of developing systems endowed with the intellectual processes characteristic of humans, such as the ability to reason, generalize, discover meaning, or learn from past experiences. Since the development of the digital computer in the 1940s, it has been demonstrated that computers can be programmed to carry out very complex tasks with great proficiency. Still, despite continuing advances in computer processing speed and memory capacity, there are as yet no programs that can match human flexibility over wider domains or in tasks requiring much everyday knowledge.

In 1945, British logician and computer pioneer Alan Turing predicted that computers would one day play very good chess. Just over 50 years later, in 1997, Deep Blue, a chess computer built by IBM beat the reigning world champion, Garry Kasparov, in a six-game match. Since then, a number of programs have attained the performance levels of human experts and professionals in performing certain specific tasks, so that artificial intelligence is now found in applications as diverse as medical diagnosis, computer search engines, and voice or handwriting recognition.

Indeed, deep learning has enabled many practical applications of machine learning and by extension the overall field of artificial intelligence. Deep learning breaks down tasks in ways that makes all kinds of machine aids seem possible, even likely. Driverless cars, better image recognition, even better movie recommendations, are all here today. Artificial intelligence is the present and the future.

The AI Breakthrough, How Artificial Intelligence is Advancing Deep Learning and Revolutionizing Your World, will provide a comprehensive review of the artificial intelligence breakthroughs of today and tomorrow and how these advancements will impact businesses and the human race in general for years to come.

Fulham Announces Highbay ThoroLED Kit Now UL Listed for All Retrofit Applications

LED Retrofit Kit Designed to Replace 400 Watt Metal Halide Now UL Listed.

Hawthorne, CA, USA — Fulham Co., Inc., a leading supplier of lighting sub-systems and electronics for commercial and specialty applications, has announced that its ThoroLED Universal Voltage Highbay Retrofit Kit (part TRMUNV220ACXXXA), which was introduced early this year as a UL classified retrofit kit for field installations, has now also been approved for UL listing for use as a retrofit luminaire for renovation projects. In addition, the Highbay Retrofit kit is a DesignLights Consortium (DLC) qualified system under Retrofit and Luminaire, which makes utility rebates more accessible.

The ThoroLED Highbay Retrofit kit is suitable for both acrylic highbay and lowbay installations, such as warehouses, hangars, gymnasiums, or any building where 400-watt metal halide (HID) luminaires are normally used. The surface-mounted LED driver can handle 120V to 277V input, and the driver can be programmed to optimize power consumption and lumen output. The retrofit kit also has a built-in heat sink with integrated thermal management. The kit can be installed to upgrade an existing highbay luminaire in five to 10 minutes with four-point installation.

“Our distributors and OEMs rely on Fulham to deliver standards-compliant sub-systems that are easy to install and deliver superior, tunable performance, and now the component is UL Listed as well as DLC compliance,” said Edwin Reyes, Product Director of LED Light Sources for Fulham. “Our ThoroLED Retrofit Kit It also has the latest surface-mount chip package and driver for optimal illumination and low power consumption. The Retrofit Kit offers maximum versatility in a single, field-installable package.”

The ThoroLED Universal Voltage Highbay Retrofit Kit comes in two color temperatures, 4000K and 5000K. The kit uses Fulham’s constant current, 300W non-Class 2 round LED DC module with surface mounted LEDs. The LED driver features 0-10V smooth dimming with a max input power of 220W and an output of 26,300 lumens, including instantaneous on/off with no power up required. The driver also can be programmed from 200W down to 80W for multiple applications and minimize power consumption. The LED retrofit kit also is compatible with many daylight harvesting controls, occupancy sensors, and building automation systems.

Fulham Expands Commitment to CEC Title 20 Certification with FireHorse Emergency for Fluorescent and LED Exit Emergency Lighting

Fulham Offers New Emergency Fluorescent Ballasts and New Square Head Emergency Exit Lights for Retrofits and New Construction in California and Oregon.

Hawthorne, CA, USA — Fulham Co., Inc., a leading supplier of lighting components and electronics for commercial and specialty applications, continues to release new emergency lighting products that are certified compliant with the California Energy Commission (CEC) Title 20 Code of Regulations for small battery charger systems. The latest CEC Title 20 compliant units include the FireHorse 7 (FH7-UNV-500L-CEC) universal voltage emergency electronic fluorescent ballast and the FireHorse FHEM16 series of adjustable square head LED emergency lights.

The FireHorse 7 universal emergency ballasts are one of the few fluorescent ballasts to comply with CEC Title 20. The FireHorse 7 is the newest emergency fluorescent ballast in the Fulham product line. It delivers 500 lumens of emergency light for 90 minutes or longer and is powered by a rechargeable Ni-Cd battery. The FireHorse 7 can be used to add emergency lighting with or without an AC ballast and without affecting normal luminaire operation.

Many building improvements and upgrade projects require new lighting to make the structure compliant with current building regulations, including fire, light, and safety codes. Rather than adopting a “one size fits all” approach, Fulham offers three FireHorse fluorescent units at 1400, 750, and 500 lumens. Fulham also offers a full line of TLED lamps to replace fluorescent ballasts, although the FireHorse CEC units can power many TLED lamps as well.

“Our distributor and contractor customers are looking to Fulham to help keep them compliant with changing energy efficiency regulations. With the release of the new FireHorse universal emergency ballasts we are offering a CEC-compliant ballast that can save energy in new installations as well,” said Russ Sharer, Vice President of Global Marketing for Fulham. “Our FHEM16 emergency lights also are extremely popular because of their versatility, ease of installation, and low cost, and are now assured to meet Title 20 standards.”

The FireHorse FHEM16 LED adjustable square head emergency lights comply with the CEC Title 20 specifications outlined for small-diameter directional lamps, including power consumption of 75 watts or less. They have a rated life of more than 25,000 hours and are equipped with ANSI-compliant or E26 base types. All FireHorse FHEM16 emergency lighting units feature a rechargeable Ni-Cd battery that delivers up to 90 minutes of emergency power. The units feature a universal mount with a pattern knockout in the back for J-box mounting and snap-fit assembly.

The traditional design of the FHEM16 series has made it one of Fulham’s most popular products for emergency lighting. The unit comes factory installed with two 1.15W square LED heads. The units are dual voltage, operating at 120VAC or 277VAC. A remote capable version the FHEM16WRC, is also available. It that is compatible with FHEM10RH and FHEM16RH remote heads. Base units are available in white and black.
