QASymphony Unveils 3 Tiers of Software Testing Tools

Scalable tools for QA people: qTest Project, qTest Pro, and qTest Enterprise, suit every size development project and organization.

Atlanta, GA (USA), May 08, 2014 — QASymphony ( http://www.qasymphony.com ), a leading provider of test management platforms for agile development teams, today formally announced a major new update to its qTest test management platform. This update provides extensive integration capabilities through the formal release of its APIs, support for test automation tools such as Selenium and testNG, and features that help simplify management of large global teams.

Along with new capabilities, QASymphony is also offering the qTest test management solution as three separate editions. qTest Project, Pro, and Enterprise options provide testers with the flexibility they need to gain the benefits across different testing scenarios and Agile strategies. Available in the cloud or installed on-premise, the SaaS tools start as low as $1 per user per month.

While qTest Project is geared for small teams of less than 10 users working on single projects, qTest Pro is for small to mid-size teams looking to upscale and improve test management. qTest Enterprise, as the name implies, is designed to support many users on multiple projects and integrate with other enterprise-level apps.

“We’ve learned a few things from listening to our 8,000+ users, and the one clear message that stands out is that testers in various size teams want a testing tool tailor-made to fit the way they work. The ‘one-size fits all’ approach doesn’t work,” says Vu Lam, QASymphony co-founder. “In short, the qTest platform with various options to choose from enable teams to communicate better and test faster in agile environments.”

The qTest platform provides a collaborative work environment for teams to manage requirements, design test cases, plan test execution, track defects, and generate status and quality-metrics reports. With support for both scripted and exploratory testing, qTest is the only platform that lets you add innovative exploratory to manual and automated test management, creating a consolidated solution that accelerates the testing process to keep pace with today’s rapid agile software development.

Pricing and Support:
Available today, qTest Project ($1/mo.) includes 24×7 email tech support. qTest Pro ($29 per user per month, billed annually) and qTest Enterprise ($49/mo.) additionally include 8×5 online and 8×5 telephone tech support services. Enterprise option includes automation support via TestNG and Selenium services (http://testng.org/doc/selenium.html).

qTest eXplorer, an add-on to qTest that automatically captures a tester’s actions in both text steps and screen captures, is offered at $38/mo. Pay-as-you-go options are available.

qTest arrives fully featured with pre-built integration with popular development lifecycle tools and defect tracking systems with modules that include:

* Test Planning
* Requirement management
* Test case management
* Test execution
* Defect tracking
* Dashboards and Reports
* Built in workflows and collaboration

QASymphony Releases Cloud-Based QA Testing Tool qTest

QA teams can use qTest to organize the testing process with the goal of creating reliable market-ready applications.

Dublin, CA (USA), February 27, 2013 — After an extensive beta program at the hands of 500 companies from 23 countries, QASymphony ( http://www.qasymphony.com ), a leading developer of Quality Management solutions for software developers, ALM and DevOps teams, today announced general availability of qTest, a cloud-based enterprise test management solution ideally suited for small and growing QAtesting teams eager for an easy and affordable path towards formalizing their quality control procedures.

Accessible via any web browser, the online solution is competitively priced at $20 per user per month. qTest provides a highly flexible and collaborative work environment for teams to manage requirements, design test cases, plan test execution, track defects, and generate status and quality-metrics reports.

Says Ursula Wlodarczyk, a QA tester for Typecast, a designer of website typography based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, “I needed a platform that gave me the freedom to easily update my test plans and keep them structured, organized, and in good working order. Ideally, I was looking for a cloud solution so that I could access my work from anywhere on any browser at any time. qTest responds well to quick inputs. It’s easy to imagine that the tool was developed by testers.”

A SaaS (software-as-a-service) solution, qTestis comparable to enterprise-class test managers such as HP Quality Center,but unlike these large enterprise systems, the platform’s $20 per user per month subscription model makes it an extremely low-cost, low-risk proposition to pilot and adopt. qTest was also designed from the ground up by testers who built simplicity of use into the product.

Heavily tested by some 500 beta sites, qTest arrives fully featured with pre-built integration with popular development lifecycle tools and defect tracking systems. Some of the qTest features and modules include:

* Test Planning * Requirement management
* Test case management * Test cycle management

QASymphony Recruits 300 Beta Sites for qTest QA Management Application

Cloud-based software testing lets users spend less time on administration and more time finding defects.

Dublin, CA (USA), January 11, 2013 — QASymphony ( http://www.qasymphony.com ), a leading developer of Quality Management solutions, today announced it has recruited more than 300 U.S., European and Asian companies for its beta release of qTest, a cloud-based QA and software testing management application that organizes and streamlines the testing process.

qTest can be set up quickly and provides a collaborative work environment for small to growing agile teams looking for an easier way to manage requirements, design test cases, plan test execution, track defects, and generate quality-metrics reports. Moreover, qTest has tools that make the importing of test assets from other test management solutions or Excel a quick and easy process.

“Although we are thrilled with the huge interest in our beta program, we hope to encourage more testers to try out the free qTest beta so that they too can test smarter and faster,” said Vu Lam, CEO of QASymphony. “Core to the application is the belief that testers should spend more of their valuable time finding defects, and far less of their time on creating documentation and reports of those defects.”

The qTest application is ideal for growing QA teams that need to quickly organize their testing activities and document. The application can also scale up to meet the needs of larger sophisticated test teams looking to add more structure and analytics to their testing processes.

Users engaged with qTest have the option to focus on simplifying testing administration, making such activities as project set-up and test case importing, practically effortless so that testers spend less time on administration and more time finding defects.

Additionally, qTest integrates with VersionOne, Fogbugz, Jira, and Bugzilla defect trackers. qTest also integrates seamlessly with the qTrace screenshot capture and defect capture tool, which can submit bug reports directly into qTest to increase the testing team’s productivity.

qTest is projected to complete Beta testing and become available as a commercial product at the end of February 2013.

Free Version of Defect Documentation Tool for Testers / Software Developers Available

QASymphony offers free version of qTrace that cuts defect reporting by 70%.

Dublin, CA (USA), Tuesday – May 22, 2012 — QASymphony ( http://www.qasymphony.com ), the developer of qTrace, an intelligent defect documentation Quality Assurance tool that helps testers create practical, detailed and informative defect records, today announced a free version of its popular qTrace tool for testers and software developers.

qTrace solves the sometimes agonizing and time-consuming practice of reproducing and reporting of found defects during the software testing process. While simple defects are easy to replicate, complex or intermittent defects require a lot more effort by testers to document and report.

qTrace is not a screen or video capture tool but is instead an intelligent capture technology similar to those found in sophisticated test automation tools. In less than 5 minutes, a tester can have qTrace running, integrated with their defect tracking system, and more quickly create better defect records.

qTrace tracks user’s interactions with an application and uses that information to automatically create detailed defect documentation. qTrace supports the recording of a wide range of applications and technologies on the browser as well as desktop apps.

“Software development testers are frustrated by the amount of effort it takes to communicate complex defects clearly to the development team,” says Vu Lam, CEO of QASymphony. “qTrace is an elegant solution that makes it simple for testers to isolate, highlight, and report software issues. It intelligently produces defect reports that contain detailed scripts of each test step, complete with screen shots and system information.”

qTrace expedites the QA process with more accuracy and brings products to market by as much as 20% faster and cuts everyday defect reporting by 70%.

Useful editing features include annotation tools such as call-out boxes, pointers/arrows, blurring and cropping, making it easy to further enhance the clarity of the defect report.

qTrace is available as a free edition or low-cost Pro edition and can be downloaded at http://www.qasymphony.com. In summary, qTrace:

* Reduces manual documentation efforts and increases accuracy of defect descriptions;
* Shortens defect resolution time by providing more information to the bug fix team;
* Complements and integrates with existing application lifecycle management (ALM) and defect tracking tools.
