Second Annual Miss Pacific Beach Pageant Is About More Than Just Beauty

PB Millionaire’s Event Focuses On Homeless Youth Project In San Diego.

San Diego, California, USA (September 25, 2012) — The Second Annual Miss Pacific Beach Pageant, which will be held at PB Bar & Grill on Saturday September 29th, is expecting another big turnout. The brainchild of Jim Lawlor, locally known as the “PB Millionaire,” was a huge success last year with a capacity turnout of over 400 people. The Grand Prize winner of the Miss Pacific Beach Pageant will receive $3,000, however, Lawlor plans to present a check beforehand for $3,000 to Photocharity, which helps the homeless youth here in San Diego. Jeffrey Sitcov, Chairman, will accept the check on behalf of his organization.

Lawlor is also the executive producer of the PB Reality Show which will be filming the behind-the-scenes action of the pageant. The show has been a tremendous success. Since the first episode was released last Spring, the show has gone viral – building up a cult-like following within the local community. In fact, the show’s Facebook page has over 61,000 fans. One of the duties of the newly crowned Miss Pacific Beach will be to promote Lawlor’s various charitable causes. Her first order of business will be to attend the Photocharity walk on October 7th, only one week after the pageant.

Lawlor will be one of three judges that will choose the next Miss Pacific Beach. Contestants will be judged on three categories: a personal interview, a fashion show, and a bikini contest. “I think it’s important to find someone that gets along well with all of our staff and represents us well throughout the community,” said Lawlor.

The pageant begins at 8PM on Saturday, September 29th. PB Bar & Grill is located at 860 Garnet Avenue, San Diego, CA 92109.

Pacific Beach’s New Reality Show Makes A Big Splash

The PB Reality Show Is Now On The Air.

San Diego, California (February 23, 2012) — About 200 people stood in line at the Ultra Star Cinemas at Hazard Center to watch the very first episode of the PB Reality Show. After three years of filming and re-filming in the midst of cast changes and theme changes, the show finally premiered. Jim Lawlor, executive producer and one of the stars of the show is very pleased with the feedback. (See video: http://youtu.be/oKtnCe31W8o)

The audience was asked to answer a questionnaire immediately after the showing and the comments were overwhelmingly positive: “Overall awesome!,” “Fun and funny,” “It was very good,” Great! I loved it and laughed a lot,” “It was dramatic and entertaining,” “I…liked the momentum and flow of the show,” “Pretty cool how it was based on my hometown – San Diego,” “A solid 9 out of 10.” “I was pleasantly surprised. I think you have something here.”

Lawlor, also nicknamed the “PB Millionaire,” is an inspiration to those going through hard times. When he first arrived here to San Diego 20 years ago, he had to sleep in his car as he couldn’t afford his rent. He painted houses as a means to get by and, ironically, invented a pair of goggles for spray painting that made him a millionaire. (See Lawlor’s Bio: http://www.pbmillionairebio.com)

From living in his car to living in a castle here in Pacific Beach, Lawlor calls it “Living the California Dream” – which is the theme of the show. He not only is the star and executive producer, but owns the network called Pacific Beach TV that airs it. Viewers can now watch episodes at the network’s website: http://www.pacificbeachtv.com

The show has a huge following on Facebook with 50,000 fans and counting (Facebook: “The PB Reality Show”). Lawlor and his entourage are constantly recognized wherever they go around San Diego sometimes making it difficult to film.

When asked what he has in store for future episodes, Lawlor said: “More fun!”
