Edgar Perez Faces off Burning Cybersecurity Crisis in NYC, London, Dubai, Bangkok, Jakarta & Sydney

Edgar Perez brings Cybersecurity Boardroom Workshop 2015, seminars in New York City, London, Dubai, Bangkok, Jakarta, Sydney, Taipei, Seoul and Tokyo that are specifically designed for board members, senior executives and entrepreneurial business professionals looking for new ways to gain and maintain competitive business advantage in one of the most critical subjects for corporations and governments worldwide.

New York City, NY, USA (September 11, 2015) — Edgar Perez, the published author, business consultant for billion-dollar private equity and hedge funds and Council Member at the Gerson Lehrman Group, and subject matter expert in cybersecurity, investing, trading, financial regulation (Dodd-Frank Act) and market structure, faces off burning cyber security crisis with seminars in America, Europe and Asia. He has presented his workshops in cities around the world, including Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Warsaw, Kiev, New York, Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai. He contributes to The New York Times and China’s International Finance News and Sina Finance.

Cybersecurity Boardroom Workshop 2015 (http://www.cybersecurityboardroomworkshop.com), How Boards of Directors and CXOs Can Build the Proper Foundation to Address Today’s Information Security Challenges, is specifically designed for boards of directors and CEOs of public and private firms looking for new ways to gain and maintain their competitive advantages. Business executives with responsibility for IT, finance, compliance, risk management and procurement as well as entrepreneurs and innovators are welcome to add their points of view to the debate.

As cyber attacks become more common, companies are increasingly investing in cyber security protections. But even with the best systems in place, hackers can still easily break into a company’s network if workers aren’t also being diligent about security. Cyber criminals have gotten much better at disguising malicious email to make it look more legitimate. So employees need to be vigilant and ask questions about all of the email they receive that raises even the slightest suspicion, which is most likely not what happened at some of the high-profile cyber security breaches that have been in the headlines recently: Adobe, ADP, E*Trade, Fidelity, Home Depot, JPMorgan Chase, Nasdaq, Neiman Marcus, Sony, Target and Wal-mart.

Cybersecurity Boardroom Workshop 2015 is a must-attend forum for board members, CEOs, CFOs, COOs and executive managers in New York City, London, Dubai, Bangkok, Jakarta, Sydney, Taipei, Seoul and Tokyo who need to become more educated about cyber security in order to ask questions that are strategic yet granular enough to address company specifics. Cybersecurity Boardroom Workshop 2015 is targeted at corporate decision-makers for whom cybersecurity readiness is a relatively new yet critically important area to be intelligently conversant about.

Edgar Perez Leading Cybersecurity Workshop for CEOs in NYC, London, Dubai, Bangkok, Jakarta & Sydney

New York City, NY, USA (August 28, 2015) — The extramarital affair website Ashley Madison has been served with a US $578 million lawsuit following a breach that resulted in data concerning 39 million of its members being leaked online, including usernames, messages and email and home addresses. Furthermore, it was recently disclosed by Gizmodo editor-in-chief Annalee Newitz that most of the female accounts were fake. The official numbers from the site showed that 31 million of the accounts belonged to men while 5 million supposedly were linked to females. However, Newitz found that 10,000 accounts were created with the ashleymadison.com email, implying that they were test subscriptions. Nine thousand of those 10,000 belonged to women, while the remaining numbers were either categorized as male or no gender specified.

Firms like Avid Dating Life and Avid Media, the Toronto-based companies that run Ashley Madison, now begin to view cyber attacks as existential threats to their survival; ignoring cyber security issues can have the most dangerous and lasting consequences for global and local corporations. They join now an ever growing list of large companies that have suffered high-profile cyber security breaches that include Adobe, ADP, E*Trade, Fidelity, Home Depot, JPMorgan Chase, Nasdaq, Neiman Marcus, Sony, Target and Wal-mart.

Whether it’s social media, cloud computing, the internet, or foreign hackers, the challenges to protect sensitive data are becoming more daunting by the day. Mark Cuban Invited to Meet High-Frequency Trading Mavericks at Chicago Shark Tank, October 9

Golden Networking brings the World’s Most Influential High-Frequency Trading Conference Series, High Frequency Trading Leaders Forum 2012, now in Chicago, October 9, and London, December 12 (www.High-Frequency-Trading-Conference.com).

New York City, NY, USA (October 7, 2012) — Mark Cuban has compared high-frequency traders to hackers. Just as hackers search for and exploit operating system and application shortcomings, high frequency traders do the same thing, he said. Moreover, Cuban adds that a hacker wants to jump in front of your shopping cart and grab your credit card and then sell it. “A high frequency trader wants to jump in front of your trade and then sell that stock to you. A hacker will tell you that they are serving a purpose by identifying the weak links in your system. A trader will tell you they deserve the pennies they are making on the trade or the rebate they are getting from the exchange because they provide liquidity to the market.”

That’s why Cuban has been invited to meet high-frequency trading mavericks at High Frequency Trading Leaders Forum 2012, (http://www.High-Frequency-Trading-Conference.com), this time in the windy city, Chicago, October 9. As of this time, Cuban must be enjoying the first “El Clasico” crash of the Spanish season, Barcelona and Real Madrid, at Camp Nou, before returning to the US.

Cuban has predicted that there will be another flash crash, worse than the May 2010 flash crash, he says, simply because there are too many players looking for the trillion dollar score. “They can’t all win, yet how many do you think wouldn’t risk everything, even what is not theirs, for that remote chance to score big? Put another way, there is zero recognition of the moral hazard attached to every trade. So why wouldn’t traders take the biggest risk possible?”

He concludes: “There is value to trading automation. It is here to stay. There is absolutely NO VALUE to High Frequency Trading. None. We need to bring our markets back to their original goals of creating capital for business. It’s impossible to guess how many small to medium size companies have been held back from growing and creating jobs and wealth because of lack of access to capital from the stock market. It’s not impossible to know that our economy has suffered because Wall Street equity markets are no longer a source of equity for helping companies grow, it is not a platform for hackers and that needs to change. Quickly.”

High Frequency Trading Leaders Forum 2012, “How Knight Capital’s ‘Knightmare on Wall Street’ Could Transform the Regulatory Landscape and Impact Investors, Speed Traders and Brokers” (http://www.HFTLeadersForum.com), will provide attendees in Chicago and London with the most up-to-date review of where this ever-changing industry stands and how new technology and regulatory developments will impact it. Recognized experts, regulators, and strategists, will return to High-Frequency Trading Leaders Forum 2012 to provide the information practitioners are looking for in an open and unbiased environment, highly conducive to the most efficient and effective networking.

High Frequency Trading Leaders Forum 2012 is produced by Golden Networking (http://www.goldennetworking.net), the premier networking community for business executives, entrepreneurs and investors. Panelists, speakers and sponsors are invited to contact Golden Networking by sending an email to info@goldennetworking.net.

New WebsiteDefender Service Guards Your Website Against Malware and Hackers

Acunetix Launches New Online Service that Scans Your Website for Malware, Vulnerabilities and Provides Automated Backup & Restore

London, UK, June 06 2012 – Acunetix, a pioneer in web security and the developer of Acunetix Web Vulnerability Scanner, today announced the release of WebsiteDefender  – an online security monitoring service which helps you secure your websites or blogs against malware and hacker activity. Cybercrime and web malware is on the rise and therefore website security is essential for businesses who want to safeguard their online presence.

“WebsiteDefender is a hosted website security service that allows companies to protect their blog or website against hackers and malware. The backup and restore feature allows easy recovery of a website. It is now possible for any company to secure their web presence without requiring advanced security know-how,” said Nick Galea, CEO of Acunetix.

Detects Malware in Order to Avoid the Google Blacklist

Google’s security blog reports that approximately 3 million instances of web malware are found on websites every day. Web malware can result in your website being blacklisted by Google. Malware can also lead to sensitive data being stolen, such as customer credit card details, or to the distribution of illegal content to your visitors which can open you up to lawsuits.

WebsiteDefender scans your entire website for malware against the award-winning Bitdefender commercial grade malware database and gives you clear instructions on how to remove any detected malware. WebsiteDefender is capable of detecting infected website files, injected malware links, backdoors, shell scripts and local root exploits such as rootkits. WebsiteDefender also checks if your website is on the Google Blacklist or listed in well-known malware and spam databases.

Keeps Your Website Content Safe with Automated Backups

WebsiteDefender makes automated backups of your website, including your WordPress database. In case of malware or hacker attacks, your entire website, including themes and written content, can be restored with just a few mouse clicks. WebsiteDefender will not run a backup if it detects malware, ensuring that all backups are clean. This gives website owners peace of mind that their content is safe and secure.

Scans WordPress Plugins and Themes for Vulnerabilities
There are hundreds of thousands of open source plugins and themes available for WordPress that give users flexibility but also pose a significant security risk. Some plugins and themes have hidden malicious code or vulnerabilities which can endanger your website and company reputation. WebsiteDefender identifies these vulnerable plugins and themes and alerts you in order that you can remove them before they cause any damage.

Monitors Suspicious File Changes to Detect Hacker Activity

WebsiteDefender notifies you if files within your website have changed since the last scan. These changes may be the result of a hacker trying to compromise your website. With WebsiteDefender, you can review suspicious file changes in order to detect hacker activity early.  In addition, you will be alerted when new WordPress administrator accounts are created, which could indicate that a hacker has gained access to your website.

Scan your Websites for Vulnerabilities
In addition to the above features, WebsiteDefender:

* Monitors websites for uptime and alerts users if the website is down.
* Finds error messages in PHP code that can compromise your website.
* Alerts if new WordPress plugins have been added or deleted.
* Checks if you are using the latest version of WordPress.
* Checks if you are using the latest version of your plugins and themes.
* Alerts you if your files and directories permissions are insecure.
* Detects insecure account credentials such as weak passwords.
* Alerts you if the administrator credentials or email are modified.
* Checks if the WordPress database prefix is guessable.
* Detects executable files in the WordPress upload directory.
* Detects broken links.
* Detects if the internal IP is disclosed.
* Detects configuration security issues in .htaccess files.

Review the complete list of WebsiteDefender features here. (http://www.websitedefender.com/websitedefender-features/)
