Hikari Sato Participated in Nuclear Wastewater Protest

WASHINGTON, 2022-Apr-12 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — On February 23, 2021, many Japanese people flocked to the streets of downtown Fukushima to express their opposition to the government’s decision to discharge nuclear wastewater into the sea, and even representatives of some civic groups came to protest. Some Japanese experts believe that it is a hasty decision to rashly decide to discharge nuclear wastewater into the Pacific Ocean without the on-the-spot investigation by international research institutions first. Our guest, Hikari Sato, also participated in the protest and was involved in the design of the protest posters.

For those who know Hikari Sato, this is not surprising, because environmental protection has long been a philosophy of Hikari Sato’s life. As a painter, she is used to reminding people to protect the environment through her paintings.

We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment. As Margaret Mead said, if the environment is seriously destroyed, the consequences of which for human beings are unbearable. Hikari Sato has always been promoting the concept of environmental protection with people she can reach.

“When I know that the government decides to discharge nuclear wastewater into the sea, I realize that this will put people in the future into a bad situation, despite that they have claimed repeatedly that these waters are harmless. In the past 100 years of human history, we have dumped enough harmful substances in corners of nature at will, and Mother Earth can no longer take more damage.”

After that, she answered some of our questions.

Q: When did you start advocating for environmental protection?
A: When I was 20 years old, at that time I’d already been to many countries to study and create. I found that, in every country, there are people who don’t care about the environment.

Q: What have you done about it?
A: You know, I like to draw. So sometimes I would remind people of the importance of environmental protection through my paintings. There are also times when I’d participate in publicity activities, like walking with my friends on the street and explaining to people some of the knowledge about environmental protection

Q: Some people say that you being an environmental advocate is just a gesture to gain fame. What do you think about this?
A: I’m curious who said that. If it was for fame, I would have a better way of doing it. Like showing my works in exhibitions from all over the world, or getting on some TV shows, but I haven’t done any of that.

Sublime Galleria along with The Taj West End presents Elite Strokes, a collection of Contemporary Art by Renowned Artist, M.R. Deshmukh

The paintings will be on display at The Taj West End from 09-15 December and at Sublime Galleria, UB City from 16-31 December 2016.

Bangalore, India, December 8th 2016 — Sublime Galleria and Taj West End present ‘Elite Strokes’, a collection of paintings capturing the essence of natural beauty and human interactions. Created by M.R. Deshmukh, a prolific painter from the heart of the beautiful Sahyadri Mountains, the paintings will be on display from the 09-15 December at The Taj West End and 16-31 December at Sublime Galleria situated on the 8th Floor of The Collection, UB City.

The Opening Night of the exhibition will take place on Friday – 09 December 2016 at the beautiful Art Corridor at The Taj West End. Given that both The Taj West End and Sublime Galleria are strong patrons of the arts, most of the art aficionados from the city are expected to be present at the event.

M.R. Deshmukh rejects the traditional approach to countryside paintings by liquefying forms in his works and capturing the fleeting essence of nature. He’s particularly fascinated with the impact of light on the views around him and expresses this in his work. While all his paintings bear his signature style of bold, short strokes and strong colours, each piece of art tells a unique story.

M.R. Deshmukh’s works have been bought by some of the most influential art collectors in the country. His paintings have won several awards, including the Best Painting Award by Art Society of India. His works have been displayed in top commercial and hospitality properties across the country, including Hotel Taj (Bombay), Bank of America, Hindustan Unilever, and many more.

Commenting on the exhibition, Ms. Uzma Irfan – Director, Prestige Group, said, “It gives me great pleasure to present a gifted artist like M.R. Deshmukh. His paintings are unique because they capture the beauty of nature while also allowing some room for abstraction and fluidity. I invite everyone to come and enjoy these beautiful works of art. I also want to thank The Taj West End for partnering with us on this initiative. By joining hands with such a well-respected brand, we hope to offer even stronger platforms to the artists and the art community overall.”

Mr. Somnath Mukherjee – General Manager, The Taj West End added, “We’re happy to be associated with Sublime Galleria, one of South India’s foremost art galleries. The Taj West End and Sublime Galleria share a common vision – to give talented artists a platform to showcase their work, and help the city gain recognition as a fast-growing art hub. I hope the city’s art lovers enjoy M.R. Deshmukh’s works.”

Artist Crystal Orlando Solo Show at Jackson Hole Art Event

Nationally acclaimed graphite artist’s exhibit should be your first stop on the Jackson, Wyoming Art Walk in June.

Jackson, WY, USA (April 15, 2015) — Crystal Orlando, considered by many to be one of the top graphite artists in the US today, will be taking her work to Jackson Hole, WY for the month of June with an artist reception taking place during the Jackson Hole Gallery Association art walk. Jackson Hole is considered to be one of the top art destinations in the country.

Crystal is regarded as the Master of Emotion with a pencil where she is able to create feeling, depth and weight to her drawings. Her wildlife art is among the best.

“I am so thrilled to be featured at such a prestigious event. As an artist, it is so rewarding when other people appreciate the hard work that goes into each of my drawings.” Orlando said.

Crystal’s noted works include the powerful “Dance With Me” a drawing of a buffalo photographed nearby in Yellowstone. She and her husband Jason were able to get within a few feet of the massive animal. The detail in her drawing captures every hair on the buffalo’s body and emanates the power and weight of the magnificent creature.

“Capturing emotion in animals is very difficult yet each of them show emotion quite readily. You can find it in their posture and their eyes. One must especially be careful and read the signs quickly when getting too close to wildlife. It can be very dangerous but the adrenalin rush is like no other.” Noted Orlando.

You can view and purchase Orlando’s new work at Cowboy Coffee, 125 N. Cache, Jackson, WY during the month of June 2015. Make Crystal Orlando’s Solo Show “UNDEFEATED” (sponsored by Ringhoz Gallery) your first stop during the art walk on June 18th from 5pm – 8pm, for an artist reception were Crystal will be on hand to answer questions and visit with you.

Santa Cruz Artist Mary Karlton Wins Award at California Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts Competition and Exhibition

Santa Cruz artist, Mary Karlton, was awarded second prize in the “Human Factors” category for her painting “Sweet Summertime” by the Madera County Arts Council’s 2013 Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts juried art exhibition.

Santa Cruz, CA, USA (October 10, 2013) — Santa Cruz artist, Mary Karlton, was awarded second prize in the “Human Factors” category for her painting “Sweet Summertime” by the Madera County Arts Council’s 2013 Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts juried art exhibition. The annual art exhibit, held at the Circle Gallery in Madera, was juried by renowned Santa Cruz, California painter and teacher Mike Bailey.

Ms. Karlton’s painting, which depicts a young boy enjoying a juicy red watermelon, celebrates the abundant fruits of the summer season. With its high-contrast chiaroscuro style and shimmery copper and bronze underpainting, the portrait has a vintage feel that simulates the look of old sepia-toned photography of the mid-twentieth century. The painting was inspired by an old photo of her father that Ms. Karlton discovered in a box of family memorabilia.

In 2012, Mary Karlton was awarded first prize for her painting entitled “How Are You M’ Lord?” by the Madera County Arts Council’s Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts exhibition, Pomegranate Festival category.

“Sweet Summertime,” along with the works of many other fine California artists, will be on display at the Circle Gallery until November 16. For more information about Celebrate Agriculture with the Arts and the Madera County Arts Council, visit http://www.maderaarts.org/celebrate-agriculture-with-the-arts-2013.

Kay Pratt Announced as the Gallery’s Featured Artist

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that Californian artist Kay Pratt is this month’s featured artist.

Jupiter, Florida – June 16, 2012 — Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that Californian artist Kay Pratt is this month’s featured artist. Kay has participated in several of the gallery’s art exhibitions and she won the Second Annual 2011 Abstract Exhibition for her painting “Play Red”.

Kay states this about her art and her life in California, “As a native Californian I spent my childhood years playing in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains above Sunland Tujunga. Slowly, the majestic spaces I once called “Fort” or “Cave” were diminished by the demands of development – lost forever.

The great Plein Air Painters of the California Coastal and Desert Lands left us the legacy of their works and with them an historical account of those lost places – truly a gift to us all! In the tradition of my late Grandfather, Walt A. Lee and his many “sketch trek buddies” such as Hanson Putthuff and Edgar A. Payne, I try to capture threatened and historical places with love and the hope that my works will remind viewers of the importance of the preservation of the scenic California landscape”.

Kay Pratt is a Visual Artist and a Certified Expressive Arts Therapy Practitioner; she is the Founder and Director of the Expressive Arts Therapists Network in Orange County, CA, a member of the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA) and The Lighthouse for the blind and visually impaired in San Francisco, California.

Artist Russell Rowland Now Light Space & Time’s Featured Artist

Artist Russell Rowland is now the gallery’s featured artist and he will be showcased on their website for the next 30 days.

Jupiter, Florida – February 18, 2012 — Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is very pleased to announce that artist Russell Rowland is now the gallery’s featured artist and he will be showcased on their website for the next 30 days.

Russell Rowland is a freelance art photographer based in the New York City area. Russ began his creative career as a successful executive in the public relations field, where he specialized in providing PR services to consumer and high-tech companies. After a flourishing career in marketing, Russ reinvented himself and embarked on a career as a professional photographer. Russ always had a love for images, as a little boy he would spend hours looking through his parent’s art books mesmerized by paintings of all kinds.

Russell states about his photography “I constantly slip and refer to photographs of as paintings, which isn’t surprising because I see myself less as a photographer and more as an image maker. I believe that distinction frees me to put the end image before any concerns about capturing or staying within the bounds of “reality.” The only exception is when I am shooting documentary or journalistic subjects like theater productions or Occupy Wall Street.”

As his website states about Russ’s work “I photograph the things that I cannot paint or put into words.” He is one of the Founding Members of the Melting Shot Photo Collective. This creative group was formed by 5 dedicated photographers who live, work and play in different places around the globe.

Take some time to look at Russell Rowland’s bright, imaginative and thought provoking portfolio at http://www.rrsnapshop.com.
