And what a fitting saying for the Water / Seascapes Competition which has closed and the winners announced. For the month of June, Contemporary Art Gallery Online received entries for: paintings, photography and digital art, as well as mixed media & three dimensional categories; as part of the Water/Seascapes Art competition. The “Water/Seascapes” winners were announced July 20, 2016.

In the Paintings category:

Gallery Choice went to, John Jaster for “Beach Shadows”

All Botanicals Art Competition Winners!

For the month of May, Contemporary Art Gallery Online received entries for: paintings, photography and digital art, as well as mixed media & three dimensional categories; as part of the ALL Botanical Art competition.  As Sonny Rollins once said “It’s all about creation and surprise.  It just needs to be appreciated and watered like flowers. …”  Life is captured in the creation of art.  Like flowers, art requires nurturing.  The Artists this month presented their creations and indeed surprised the viewers with striking, colorful images, celebrating everything botanical.  The “ALL Botanical” exhibition opened June 1, 2016 and the winners were announced June 17, 2016.

In the paintings category:

Deborah Bigeleisen received Best in Show for “Energy 4”; Judges Choice was awarded to, Julie Howard for “Gerbergarious”; and Aimee Nesbitt received the Gallery Choice recognition for “Aloe”. The following artists and their works placed respectively:  Sweety Saradha Pandiarajan for, “Bloom”; Leisa Luis-Grill for, “Hidden Oasis”; Janis Grau for, “Supreme Sultan Iris”; Jude Tolar for, “Backlit Daffodils”; while Jenay Elder and Sim Sia Fern tied for both “Orchids and Fruit” and “Pink Lotus”.

In the photography and digital art category:

Sean Coffman received Best in Show for “Gerbera Desconstructed 10” while Joan Miller received Judges Choice and Jacqueline Young was named Gallery Choice. The following artists also demonstrated the most quality in the consistency of their work:  Joan Miller, Jacqueline Young, Jessica Manelis, Bridget Wiss, Aisha Tomlin, Tisha Clinkenbeard, Karen Sirnick and Vivian Bond.

In the mixed media and three dimensional category:

Darnell Evans received Best in Show for “I Eu, Stephanie Neville, Anthony Dallman-Jones and Bob Craig were all recognized for their whimsical, creative and non-traditional depictions of flowers.

Portrait Figurative Art competition winners!

The art of portraiture is not just about the ruling class or the wealthy. Today, portraiture art is about capturing the essence of humanity one moment at a time. This month the artists who participated in the Portrait / Figurative Art competition and exhibition captured the angst, the gentleness, the soulfulness, as well as the beauty of everyday life of people worldwide.

For the month of April, Contemporary Art Gallery Online received entries for: paintings, photography and digital art, also mixed media categories; as part of the Portrait / Figurative Art competition. Winners were announced, May 16, 2016.

In the paintings category: artist, Wendy Layne was awarded Best in Show for the stunning depiction entitled, “Teacher”. The angst ridden “Hush?…No More” portrait by, Barbara Pickering and weatherworn portrait “The Survivor” by, Cotyne were both selected as, Judges’ Choice. The mysterious “Untitled 4 – From Being Series” by, Amin Rostamizadeh won Gallery Choice; while, first, second and third place awards went to: Larry Madrigal for, “Foreknown”; Richard Devine for, “Raine”; and to Rita Romero for,“Flight of Fancy”; all works integrating impeccable detail, sound contrast, character expression, attention to shadow and to luminosity. The romantic “Cali Girl” by, Rebecca Sakovitch received fourth place. While artists: Sylvia Cerri-Bartels and Kathleen Walsh each tied for fifth place recognition. Cerri-Bartels’ titillating work titled, “Recharging” and Walsh’s Picasso inspired rendition titled, “Winnie”.

The following works and their respective artists received Honorable Recognition for vivid and unusual illustrative technique: “Lloyd on the Dunes” by, Darcy Lynn; “Peperina” by, Ceci Burgues; “Last Glance” by, Gregory Emvy; and finally, “Tripartite” by, Colin Gluck.

In the photography and digital art category: Gloria Golden received, Best in Show for, the remarkable “Side by Side” duo photo; while, first, second and third place winners included: Mark Dierker for, “Dryard”; Nicholas Mariano for, “Cuban Dancer”; and Briana Bogucki for, “Broken”; whose images integrate superior digital manipulation also angle and hue variation within and surrounding their subjects. “Fishing Reflection” by, Tisha Clinkenbeard received fourth place to evidence the artist’s advanced ability to manipulate light on film, and “The Pearl Queen” by, Michael Burkowitz received fifth place for its cinematic signature and organic definition of feminine curvature.

Three winners received awards in the mixed media category: Yordy Sanchez as Best in Show for the Mesoamerican profile called, “Breathless”; Pantea Bayat Mokhtari won first place for the abstract work entitled, “Suspended”; and Suzanee Benton received second place for the bindi triumvirate work called, “Trimurti”.

All Landscapes Competition Winners Announced!

For the month of March, Contemporary Art Gallery Online received entries for photography, paintings, also mixed media and three dimensional categories; as part of the All Landscapes competition. Winners were announced, April 18, 2016.

In the paintings category, Best in Show went to, James Ellison for the serenity and magnificent detail conveyed in the woodland themed, “An Insignificant Life”.   Dimitrina Kutriansky won first place for, “Natural Patterns” and Colleen Stevens received second place for, “One Step at a Time”.  Jessica King and Val Robert were awarded third and fourth places, while fifth place went to, Tricia Hoye for, “Mangrove”.

In Mixed Media and Three Dimensional categories: Best in Show went to, Lisa Hill for, “L’ Art De Vivre” a colorful depiction of a mariner’s city, hearkening to European leisure and dining alfresco.  Shana Martin stole first place for the “Where Does it Lead?” indelible canvas, whereby tree lined shadows whisper from beneath a network of circuit board etchings; to contrast artist, Lukasek who won second place for an image simply entitled, “Ice”.   Martin and Lukasek’s works challenge viewers to take inventory of natural surroundings and also internal awareness.

Photography and Digital Art award recipients were as follows: Joanna Gawkowska for, “To Future” as, Best in Show.  Nicolas TeeTelli for, “Horseshoe Bend II” as first place; and second place to, Lisa Schneider for, “Black and White Trees”.  Sean Stewart and Jason Levi tied third place for, “Winters Gate” & “Canyon de Chelly” images.  While Joan Miller received fourth place for, “Kilchurn Reflected”.  Linda Wilkinson received fifth place for, “Solitude”.

The following artists produced memorable and cohesive illustrations, affording them Honorable Recognition: Emily Boutilier Sullivan for the looming, “Giant Sequoia” painting and Randy Hall for the abstract and eerily stark, “Progress?” photograph.

All Women Competition

For the month of February, Contemporary Art Gallery Online received competition entries for the following categories: paintings, mixed media & three dimension works as well as photography and digital art.  Results were announced, March 14, 2016.  The distinguishing entries were of single stipulation, that being, solely from the feminine perspective!

Within the Paintings category, Mariana Peirano achieved Best in Show for a somber representation entitled, “Loss”. Lydia Pepin reflected the simple beauty of portraiture and a barren neckline in, “Portrait of Mylene”.  Judges Choice was awarded to Sheryl Hughes her remarkable detail and likeness expressed in, “Owliver 2”.  The Second Place award went to, Tanya Reeves for the visceral femme fatal entitled, “Frenchie”; while Third and Fourth Places were awarded to, Alegra Norris for “Aura” and to, Janet Hamilton for “Morocco 12”.  Based on depth of perspective, emotional quality and execution, artists Dimitrina Kutriansky & Ann Tygette Jones tied in Fifth Place for their renderings, “Passing Gale” and “Tri-Mod”.

Within the Mixed Media & Three Dimensional works category, Joy Malone received Best in Show for, “Weekend World”. Ginny Baughman received First Place for the patriotic and indulgent symbolism called, “America the Beautiful”.  Maria Saracino won Second Place for “The Gamers”, while Third and Fourth Places were awarded to, Kellie Moeller for a typographical exponent called, “Phenomenal Woman” and to, Yelena Lezhen for a palpable testament entitled, “The Garden of Delight”.  Finally Fifth Place was awarded to, Laura Little for the primal and instinctual collage named, “Ebony Love”.

Within the Photography and Digital Art category, Durga Garcia received the Best in Show award for a tribal tribute called, “Kinkajou”. Artist Allyson Marie was recognized for her prodigy with two awards including; Judges Choice for the alluring image, “Draped by Nature” and First Place for the crude daguerreotype within, “No Bull”.  Second Place award went to, Sarah Johnstone for “Bubblegum Dreams” and Third Place & Fourth Places were awarded to, Monica Schneider for “Selfie Stick in Havana” and to, Genea Barnes for “Detroit 5”.  Both Brigitt Wiss & Eva Habdas tied for Fifth Place representing romanticism and introspection with “The Rose” & “Variations of My Soul” photographs.

Honorable Recognitions awarded to the following artists for paintings and for photography: Priscilla Bennett Nippinonni for, “Moonlight Dance”; Mia Bellavia for, “Self in Tub”; Birgit Kalkofen for, “Masai Women I”; and Holly Harrah for “Manhattan with Johnny”.

All Paintings Art Competition Winners!

For the month of January, Contemporary Art Gallery Online received abundant entries representing numerous styles of art expression, in the All Paintings Art Competition.   Results were announced, February 22, 2016.

Artists: Tatiana Valery, Lorie Turpin and Rita Romero each received honorable recognition for still life and profile paintings; while Joshua Langley, was awarded, Best in Show for an endearing depiction of adorable little children playing with their dog in “Little Scamps”.

As Judges’ Choice, Kay Englehart captured an intimate exchange between child and playmate in, “Morning Finds Emily in the Garden”.

Surreal works entitled, “The Time is Coming” by, Larry Reinhart and “Dark Rain” by, Walter Paul were both selected as, Gallery Choice.

In Audubon style, Tricia Eisen stole First Place for “Heron’s Hammock” while the uncanny likeness within his “Notorious” image, afforded Jon B. Paulsen Second Place recognition.

“On the Prowl” by, Robert Teeling received Third Place and “Red Rose” by, Elina Grosul received Fourth Place.

“Providence” by, Kent Eaton & “Trust” by, Paramita Mitra tied for Fifth Place based on unique perspectives represented in both works! Eaton capturing the essence of a majestic city and Mitra catching a rare, touching moment in time.

Contemporary Art Gallery Online announces their 3rd Annual International “ALL Colors” Online Art Competition for the month of October 2015. Contemporary Art Gallery Online encourages entries from all 2D and 3D artists regardless of their experience or education in the art field. A group exhibition of all entrants will be held online at Contemporary Art Gallery Online during the month of November 2015. Awards will be given for the top 5 chosen winners. Contemporary Art Gallery Online September Art Competition Winner Announcement

For the month of, September Contemporary Art Gallery Online showcased interpretations of the urban experience and visual perspective as the Cityscapes Online Art Competition. Results were announced on, October 12, 2015. Photography, paintings, and mixed media categories became an homage to bustling avenues, architectural constructs, and cultural diversity.
Artist, Clinton Helms was recognized as The Best in Show for his “Iconic Time Square Night” acrylic depiction of metropolis traffic. While Jay Friedenberg received First Place for “Moon Over the Misbegotten” a nostalgic snapshot of a well-lit skyline and moonlit backdrop. Andrew Verhoeckx stole First place for his captivating painting entitled “Heading Home” and Bob Craig received First place in the Mixed / 3D Media category for “Fabric City 2” a kaleidoscopic interplay.
Honorable Recognitions were awarded to the following renditions and artists:
