Worldwide, tottering democracies coupled with “unfettered capitalism” are in crisis largely because their rhetoric does not match their reality. Rather than being the guarantors of opportunity, freedoms, equality, justice, fairness, and inclusion they have proven to be architects of oligarchy, kleptocracy, corruption, racial, gender, religious, class, and representational inequality, hyper-partisanship, polarization, identity politics, and zero-sum politics and economics. Authoritarians are taking advantage of these vulnerabilities by engaging in campaigns designed to subvert democratic processes, “weaponize” democracy’s (and capitalism’s) vulnerabilities and thereby destroy the liberal world order.

W&A has responded to these challenges by developing a universally applicable strategic plan designed to save liberal democracy, unify peoples, and resist authoritarianism and nationalism worldwide. The plan is contained in a recently published book entitled, Ensuring Justice, Fairness, and Inclusion in America: Managing Equity in the 21st Century, written by its President, Dr. Charles A. Washington, and in a series of five (5) white papers and promotional gear. The book and the strategic plan mark the first ever attempt to fully operationalize John B. Rawls’ seminal concept, “Justice as Fairness.” The strategic plan details a revolutionary (Rawlsian) management system called “Equity Management,” and a web-based software system called the “Plato Management Information System,” as solutions to this crisis.

Democracy’s problems are multi-faceted, and the solution must be as well. Saving democracy requires that it be reimagined and reinvented. Further, democracy must be saved in America first if it is to be saved at all. In response to this crisis, newspaper correspondents, think tanks, individual scholars, major universities (Harvard University, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Pennsylvania), etc. have begun examining the crisis of liberal democracy and capitalism seeking ways to save them. These early efforts have no viable solutions to offer to date. W&A’s “Rawlsian solutions” call for establishing new social contracts in tottering democracies with emphasis on the promotion of representative consensus democracy, justice, fairness, and inclusion. The solutions that W&A is offering are the first and only real-world, comprehensive, practical solutions designed to save liberal democracy, unify peoples and resist authoritarianism worldwide (and by extension save capitalism) that can actually work.

Monterey, CA, February 08, 2019 – “Dwight has a long history of experience in home care, hospice, and eldercare and while at Mission Hospice and Home Care in San Mateo, CA, as Chief Executive Officer, he accomplished many things as his passion is for building programs and services” said Mary Claypool, Board President. For example, he built a licensed and accredited home care agency and led the way to implementing other services such as palliative care, all while at the same time growing revenue.

Dwight was with the Veterans Administration for 30 years prior to Mission where he was Deputy Associate Chief of Staff. During his time with the VA, he developed standards of practice and quality outcomes for Extended Care programs as well as serving as Chief Nurse for that program. Just For Diabetics Website Offers Hope for Pre-diabetics, Type 2 diabetics, and the Overweight

 

Research shows that the best time to take action to reverse pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes is when you are at the stage of managing these conditions.

Vancouver, BC, Canada, 2018-Nov-06 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — November is world diabetes month. When people are diagnosed type 2 diabetic, the first line of defense is the use of prescription drugs in order to manage the diabetes. But what victims of pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes are not aware of is that research performed by Just For Diabetics website founder, Ernest Quansah, shows that when patients are managing their pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes, it is the best opportunity for them to reverse it and be weaned off the prescription drugs. The research results are evidence based. Many doctors and institutions now agree that this is the case. He himself completely reversed his severe case of type 2 diabetes after compiling this program, which was the culmination of thorough research. This research included the advice of several physicians. Quansah, founder of Just For Diabetics and the author of Diabetics Journey says: “For several years, I have been educating people about how type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes can be reversed through the program offered on my website. Now we see that one of Canada’s finest Universities and a drug store chain are doing the same.”

The website, justfordiabetics.com offers a free weight-loss program, a free diabetes reversal program, as well as an inexpensive paid program. The extensive program includes a full menu regime, exercise videos, tutorials, in addition to a cooking video demonstration, all for less than $180. Quansah wisely suggests that those on the program be monitored by their doctors.

Quansah’s research and findings have been published in the WebMD Diabetes magazine in the article “Secret recipe: How a Chef Cured His Type 2 Diabetes”, as well as on the WebMD website. There is hope for reversing pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes (the type that does not require insulin injections,) and for overcoming being overweight.

“Misinformation about type 2 diabetes is rampant. For diabetics to heal, they need a complete change of attitude and way of thinking. This means, they should not just accept managing their condition, but rather, understand that they can be healed. Further, complacency about pre-diabetes leads to full-blown diabetes, which can lead to heart disease, blindness, liver failure, impotence, limb amputations and early death,” cautions Quansah.

Quansah has been asked to be guest speaker at the Diabetes and Healthcare Conference being held in Helsinki, Norway, in November 2018 and to be keynote speaker at the Diabetes Care Conference being held in Malaysia in May of 2019. His speech topic will include how to help diabetics heal and resultantly reduce healthcare costs.

Lifespan Launches a New Service: Well Being Program

In celebration of Lifespan’s 35th anniversary, a free class called “Where is the Joy? Putting Joy Back in your Life as you Age” will be presented on Thursday, June 28th.

Santa Cruz, CA, May 16, 2018 – Lifespan, a specialized aging care agency founded in Santa Cruz County 35 years ago, announces a new service. The Well Being Program recognizes that as people age many become socially isolated, losing the ability to pursue past or new activities that might bring them joy. Often they become disconnected from their community, family, and friends.

Too often social isolation, reduced mobility, or relocation to a new community can diminish access to activities which have brought enjoyment and fulfillment to a person’s life. Lifespan hopes to help local elders reengage and find joy again through its new Well Being Program.

The intent of this program is to increase engagement, sense of fulfillment, connection, and joy in life regardless of age or perceived changes in ability. At the outset a Lifespan professional meets with the elder to explore her or his desires which may include renewing or exploring a creative outlet, connecting with family members or old friends, pursuing a spiritual path, or participating in outings into the community. Once personal goals are identified, a specialized Personal Assistant from Lifespan is matched with the individual and the two can embark on planning activities.

International Day of Yoga 21 June

Uganda Based Nsuk Professional Laundry Limited Provides Great Perks to All Supporters of Their Humanitarian Mission

A businessman with a humanitarian mission has launched the ‘Help Us Build a Laundry For Our African Village’ crowdfunding campaign. The team is raising the funds needed for a start-up business that wants to improve the lives of poor villagers in Uganda.

Kampala, Uganda — Peter Ntaate, the president and founder of Africa based start-up “Nsuk Professional Laundry Limited”, has launched a crowdfunding campaign with a funding goal of $50,000. Ntaate launched this campaign to raise the funds needed to bring sustenance level laundry services to the people of Uganda. There is a lot involved with a project of this magnitude, but the team is very focused on making it a reality. Ntaate states, “We want to help the people in Uganda by offering laundry and dry cleaning services in the hopes of improving their lives! This may be a simple service to most people who take clean clothes for granted, but for our community, it is a real luxury.” The funds raised with this campaign will be used to purchase land, hi-tech laundry equipment, and service vehicles.

The humanitarian benefits that Nsuk plans to bring to the poor villagers in Uganda do not end with clean clothes. The team has a long term goal with their focus on improving living conditions, and making a real difference in the villages that they grew up in. Once the company is off the ground, Nsuk plans on using the profits to build low cost housing for the families in need. They have a goal of building 10 low-cost houses in the first year at an approximate cost of $13,500 per home. In years 2-5 they plan on building at least 20 homes per year, and completing their mission in year 6 with the final 10 homes. So, by the time the team has completed their mission, they will have built 100 self-contained houses for the local people in the Namayumba – Wakiso District of Uganda.

The team has been working very diligently on all of the essential groundwork for Nsuk Professional Laundry Limited and they are now ready to begin the process of making this humanitarian dream a reality which is why they have launched their campaign, and hired a team of crowdfunding specialists to help them spread the word. Fitting The Description Statement on Call For Formal Investigation of West Hollywood Sheriff Department by Entertainer Wyclef Jean

All of us must be willing to take our stories forward for there to ever be justice.

West Hollywood, CA, USA — Fitting The Description founder and executive director Charles Belk issued the following statement about the detainment and handcuffing of entertainer Wyclef Jean because he was “fitting the description” and his call for a formal investigation into the matter by the West Hollywood Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department.

“It’s inspiring to hear that Wyclef Jean is calling for a formal investigation. More attention needs to continuously be brought to those incidents like Wyclef’s, because it gives society a chance to possibly disclose the underlying cause. We seem to focus on only those incidents where an apparently innocent Black man ends up dead, and at that point, while you may or may not have some video, you indeed only have one side of the story, because, unfortunately, the other side can’t be told. I was fortunate to be able to tell my side of the story, and to see someone with the celebrity status of Wyclef be willing to take his story forward in search of the truth is what we always should do. All of us, need to take our stories forward. Don’t think that just because you’re not a famous entertainer or a “Hollywood Producer”, that people won’t listen. They WILL listen. Social media is definitely listening, and it has millions of ears! We have to all be willing to get M.A.D., and Make A Difference. I strongly encourage the new commander of the West Hollywood Station, Captain Sergio A. Aloma, and West Hollywood Mayor Lauren Meister to honor Mr. Jean’s request and launch an investigation immediately.”

On August 22, 2014, Charles Belk was mistakenly identified as an armed bank robber because he fit the description of a tall, bald, Black male. Although Belk was held on the curb in handcuffs for 45 minutes, and then arrested and held under a $100,000 bail for 6 hours, he was later released as innocent. Since his arrest, Charles Belk, a long-time West Hollywood-adjacent resident, launched a nationwide effort, #AutoErase, through the non-profit Fitting The Description, to educate and inform those about the perils of wrongful arrest records, and engage legislation to alleviate the burden and costs incurred by the innocent to remove those arrest records. The legislation has been signed into law in four states and is now current legislation in 14 states.
