LAN Systems Partners with Cambridge Sound Management

LAN Systems has partnered with Cambridge Sound Management to offer the latest technology in sound masking.

Berkeley Lake, GA (USA), March 26th, 2015 — LAN Systems has partnered with Cambridge Sound Management to offer the latest technology in sound masking. The patented Cambridge system is a leader is sound masking technology for speech privacy and workforce productivity solutions.

The system provides sound masking for open office spaces, private offices and public spaces where speech privacy or speech confidentiality is desired or required and in any workspace to reduce distractions and improve productivity. Speech privacy or speech confidentiality is desired or required and in any workspace to reduce distractions and improve productivity.

“Cambridge Sound Management is the gold standard for sound management,” said Hester. “We are delighted to partner with them to offer this great technology for the modern workplace.”

The Cambridge sound masking system can help organizations achieve LEED Certification. The Indoor Environmental Quality category – to increase daylight and outdoor views – requires organizations to use lower partitions between work stations, large windows and more open floor plans. These design requirements can create a decline in the acoustic quality of the workspace, increasing distractions and reducing productivity. Additionally, the Cambridge system is the most energy efficient sound masking system available today, using less than 10% of the power of any other system.

Traditional sound masking systems, created in the early 1950s, use speakers the size of paint cans and require significant post-installation commissioning. Still on the market, these outdated systems were not designed for today’s modern facilities. Cambridge was founded in 1999 in Cambridge, Massachusetts by an MIT PhD with a distinguished heritage in the field of acoustics and audio engineering. Developing proprietary technology based on research and development in acoustics, science, architecture, and facility design, Cambridge Sound Management launched its first commercial sound masking solution in 2001 and continues to pioneer the next generation of sound masking solutions.

SmartTOP Add-On Convertible Top Controller for Peugeot 307 CC and 308 CC Redesigned

The aftermarket SmartTOP Convertible Top Controllers made by Mods4cars for Peugeot 307 CC and 308 CC received a facelift redesign. They now ship in a new, custom designed module enclosure, specifically made by Mods4cars for the purpose. It is smaller and slimmer and thereby easier to install in tight locations in the car. Two LEDs show status information and aid during the install process.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), March 25th, 2015 — The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controllers offered by aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars provide simple and easy roof controls for convertibles. On Peugeot 307 CC and 308 CC the product allows opening and closing of the top while the car is moving, up to 40 km/h (~28mph). Thanks to the one-touch operation, the top switch only needs to be tapped once. It is no longer necessary to pull over and hold the switch down for the entire time.

Additionally the top can be controlled from the original key fob remote by issuing a key combination. This makes it possible to open the top before getting in the car. Vice versa it is also possible to close the top from a distance at the first sign of impending rainfall. No changes are necessary to the original key fobs or receiver system.

Apart from these two main features, SmartTOP modules for Peugeot 307 CC and 308 CC also come with a few bonus features: Windows can be controlled separately from the top by remote. The “all windows” switch in the car can be made to close all windows with one-touch convenience. And a windows comfort feature allows the driver to still operate all windows for up to 60 seconds after turning the ignition off. An extended mode can be activated which allows the top to continue running while the engine is being started or stopped. The entire module can be deactivated temporarily while retaining all user configurable settings.

All features of the module can be configured according to individual needs. Configuration of the module is extremely simple. Mods4cars was able to control the center display in the dash to show a clear text setup menu which shows all functions and settings of the top module in an easy to understand way.

Now Mods4cars redesigned the looks of their smart modules. “The new product enclosure was exclusively designed by and made for Mods4cars to perfectly meet all the needs of the module.” explains PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “It is about 30% smaller and can be fitted easily in tight spaces in the car. Additionally there are two LEDs now that show status and troubleshooting information in order to make installation simple and straight forward.” he continues.

The SmartTOP modules come equipped with a standard USB port. This port allows quick and easy configuration of the module via Mac or PC as well as firmware updates. Support software and updates are available free of charge online. The kit comes with a full plug-and-play wiring adapter harness for quick and simple connection of the module to the car electronics. No wires need to be cut or spliced, no soldering is necessary and everything can later be removed without leaving any damage or trace.

SmartTOP kits by Mods4cars are available for the following popular brands: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volvo and VW. The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller kit for Peugeot 307 CC and 308 CC is available for 249 Euros + tax. A kit is also available for the Peugeot 207 CC.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.

T5 Data Centers(TM) Adds a Level 3 Fiber “Point-of-Presence” in the T5@Atlanta Data Center

T5@Atlanta, the Southeast’s premiere multi-tenant data center, now provides its customers direct access to the Level 3 network by way of an on-site Point-of-Presence.

Atlanta, GA, USA (March 25, 2015) — T5 Data Centers™, a provider of Multi-Tenant Data Centers with a portfolio of facilities across North America, today announced global telecommunications company Level 3 Communications, will provide a fiber point-of-presence (PoP) at the company’s “T5@Atlanta” data center. Current and future tenants will have the option to lease direct network access from Level 3 for greater reliability and flexibility.

T5@Atlanta is a purpose-built, Tier III, server-ready data center that features multiple independent data suites occupied by various tenants. Enterprises can take advantage of stronger service level agreements (SLAs), more available bandwidth and better service and support through the new access to Level 3’s highly secure fiber backbone.

“By establishing a PoP at T5@Atlanta we can offer enterprise customers around the country faster, more reliable access to their critical data,” said Brian Dolan, vice president and general manager of Georgia for Level 3. “We recently expanded our network presence in the technology corridor Alpharetta to provide the local to global connection for the more than 600 companies working out of the area.”

One of seven sites across the United States, T5@Atlanta has more than 100,000 square feet under one roof, including 55,000 feet of raised floor, with individual data halls, each separated by slab-to-deck, fire-rated walls for autonomous operation. The data center also has an installed critical IT power load of 6,000 kW, expandable to 9,000 kW and is fed by five separate substations; two of them on Georgia Power’s “Hi-Reli” system for mission-critical users. It’s ideally suited for companies that require secure, dedicated control of their mission critical data operations, such as financial service firms, insurance companies, and health care providers.

“Although we remain a carrier-neutral colocation provider, we want to be able to offer our tenants a choice in telecommunications providers, including direct network access over high-speed fiber,” said Jason Chartrand, Executive Vice President of National Business Development for T5 Data Centers. “This new agreement with Level 3 puts us in a stronger position to serve regional customers with highly reliable colocation services.”

Currently Level 3 is the only network services provider to have a PoP facility on-site.

Distinctive Career Services Adds Federal Resume Writing to Job Search Support Services

Government Career Experts Help Job Seekers Package Their Expertise for Placement in the Federal Job Market.

Wakefield, New Hampshire, USA (March 25, 2015) — Distinctive Career Services, LLC, career and resume consultants for professionals and executives for nearly 20 years, has added a new resume writing service specifically designed for professionals seeking a career with the federal government. The new federal resume writing services are designed to assist job seekers in highlighting and promoting the unique skills and qualifications required to be considered for work in the federal sector.

There are millions of civilian jobs and the federal government is seeking new talent all the time, but few professionals understand what it takes to navigate the federal job application process, including what hiring managers look for in a resume.

On average, there are 250 resumes submitted for every job opening. That means an applicant has 15 seconds or less to stand out. In addition, government agencies require detailed resumes that include elements not typical in resumes written for the private sector. The resulting three- to five-page federal resume must also be structured in a prescribed format. If a federal job candidate does not follow the application instructions and can’t immediately demonstrate he or she has the right expertise and the right credentials then their resume will never be considered. That’s why Distinctive Career Services has created as specialized practice for government job seekers staffed by experts experienced in federal resume writing.

“Every job market has unique requirements and that’s especially true for federal workers,” said Michelle Dumas, founder and Executive Director of Distinctive Career Services. “It’s essential to highlight specific skills and qualifications, such as veteran status, language skills, and security clearance. Federal job screeners are looking for very specific qualifications, and our team of resume experts know what those criteria are based on years of experience. If you are looking for a job with the government we can help you demonstrate that you have the right qualifications to rise above the crowd.”

In addition to federal resume writing, Dumas and the team of career professionals at Distinctive Career Services offer a wide range of career support services, including cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile writing, job search assistance, and personal branding strategies. Dumas herself holds both Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) and Nationally Certified Resume Writer (NCRW) credentials, and is a trained career coach and a Certified Personal Branding Strategist (CPBS) with credentials as a Certified Employment Interview Professional (CEIP) and a Job & Career Transition Coach (JCTC).

LondonTown.com: New London museum located in notorious hospital

Bethlam Royal Hospital hosts new permanent Museum Of The Mind.

LONDON, March 23, 2015 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — One of the most notorious psychiatric hospitals in history – Bethlam Royal Hospital, which gave its name to the word ‘bedlam’ – will be opening a pioneering gallery and museum on its premises this month. The new displays will be filled with the personal stories – both historic and contemporary – of those who have experienced mental health difficulties and will explore the long, controversial and often misunderstood history of Bethlem, founded 1247 in central London. Bethlem Gallery and Museum of the Mind opens on 19 February 2015. The Bethlam Royal Hospital has occupied various sites, including the building now used by the Imperial War Museum in Waterloo, and is now located in Beckenham, a short journey by train from the centre of London. To see other attractions in the area and learn how to get to Beckenham, as well as finding up-to-date information on hotels in London, see LondonTown.com.

The Bethlem Gallery and Museum of the Mind will occupy the hospital’s original 1930s administration building and celebrate the lives and achievements of those living with mental ill-health. Themed gallery spaces will explore the reasons why people arrive at Bethlem, aiming to inspire discussion, debate and reflection on mental health issues which are as relevant today as they were in the past. The museum will house significant art and historical artefacts, almost all of which will be on display for the first time, as well as works by current artists and hospital service users.

Among the highlights are paintings and drawings by Richard Dadd, Louis Wain and Jonathan Martin, each of whom was a former Bethlem or Maudsley Hospital patient; and the oldest objects in the collection, the imposing statues, ‘Raving and Melancholy Madness’ by Caius Gabriel Cibber (c1676) which originally stood above the gates of the 17th century ‘Bedlam’ at Moorfields. They will now take their place either side of the art deco staircase directly ahead of visitors entering the new museum. Notable paintings from the internationally renowned art collection include ‘The Maze’ by William Kurelek (1953), ‘Sketch of an idea for Crazy Jane’ by Richard Dadd (1855), ‘Numb’ by Lisa Biles (2009) and ‘Phrenology’ by Louis Wain (1911). Each of these will be on permanent display.

The exhibition will include striking images by Victorian photographer Henry Hering of Bethlem patients taken before and after treatment in order to detect their mental health conditions through facial expressions and features. The collection will also feature a key to the gates of the 18th century hospital, 19th century manacles, chains, straitjackets and other physical restraint devices, comments and letters from visitors from the 18th century up until today and 19th century admission and discharge registers.

LondonTown.com: London Zoo’s lemurs get brilliant new home

In With The Lemurs, a new home for the primates, opens next month at London Zoo.

LONDON, March 23, 2015 — /REAL TIME PRESS RELEASE/ — London Zoo is getting a new attraction next month in the shape of a swanky new walk-through home for the zoo’s playful troop of 16 lemurs. In With The Lemurs is a fine new base for the lemurs at the zoo, nestled as it is in the heart of leafy Regent’s Park, kitted out with the best accessories and with a desirable NW1 postcode. The new lemur attraction opens on Saturday 28th March at London Zoo. For more information on the zoo and other attractions in the area, as well as the best deals for a hotel in London, see LondonTown.com.

The lemur pen will be home to 15 ring-tail lemurs and one black and white ruffed lemur. Designed by the zoo’s expert keepers and horticulturalists,  In With The Lemurs will take visitors on a journey through the Madagascan shrub forest where the evolutionarily unique primates will be leaping, climbing and lounging all around them. Renowned sun-worshippers, the lemurs love nothing more than an afternoon spent sunbathing. With this in mind the zoo’s dedicated architects have carefully mapped the path of the sunlight on the new exhibit to ensure their basking platforms are purposefully located to maximise lounging time.

With an uncertain future in the wild, lemurs face a daily struggle to survive due to extensive habitat loss, and over-hunting. In With The Lemurs will give the zoo’s visitors a glimpse of these threats in the exhibit’s replica timber mill, highlighting the devastating effect the industry has on the lemurs’ wild habitat. Ring-tail lemurs are classified as endangered on the IUCN red-list, as are black and white ruffed lemurs, which are also listed on international conservation charity ZSL’s EDGE of Existence programme, due to the threat to their survival and evolutionary distinctiveness. The new attraction will help ensure that London Zoo remains one of Europe’s leading zoos in the way it combines fascinating attractions with sympathetic environments, following recent transformations of the enclosures for lions, tigers and gorillas. For more information on London Zoo, including location, travel information, admission prices and opening times, see LondonTown.com, the best London website for tourists and visitors to the capital.
