SmartTOP Convertible Top Kit for Mercedes-Benz E-Class Now with Ultra Plug and Play Wiring Adapter

Aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars has refined and upgraded the wiring adapter which is part of the SmartTOP kit for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Effective immediately, a custom made adapter using OEM connectors guarantees a perfect and secure fit as well as easier connection between the SmartTOP and the vehicle electronics.

Las Vegas, NV (USA), October 31st, 2014 — The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller made by Mods4cars for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class convertible is a retrofit module which makes use of the top simpler, more fun and comes with a few bonus features as well. To benefit from these features, all that is necessary is to connect the module with the car electronics using the supplied custom designed plug-and-play adapter harness.

This harness simply plugs in between some connectors at the top control box and the SmartTOP module. In order to make installation even easier and to avoid any problems, the adapter was completely redesigned using OEM plugs that ensure secure, tight fit and reverse polarity protection. Simply connect plug and socket until they latch. Safety levers lock the connections in place.

“We always want to make the installation of our products as easy as possible for our customers“, says PR Manager Sven Tornow. “This means for us that we deliver wiring adapters that use OEM connectors with all the necessary safety latching mechanisms and reverse polarity protection that fit perfectly and cannot come apart accidentally.” Additionally Mods4cars recently custom designed a product enclosure that makes the module itself very slim, up to 30% smaller and thereby easier to install in tight locations. Configuring and updating the module is straight forward as well: A USB port on the module allows owners to connect it to a PC or Mac to program the individual settings or update the module firmware online.

The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller allows use of the top while driving at slow speeds of up to 50 km/h (~30mph). Thanks to the one-touch feature all it takes is one quick tap on the top switch. It is no longer necessary to hold down the switch for the duration of the operation. It is also possible to open and close the top from the original factory key fob remote up to the full RF range. No modification is necessary to the key remote or receiver system.

The SmartTOP module for E-Class convertibles also offers some neat bonus features: Separate control of the windows from the remote, comfort one-touch close off all windows at once with the dedicated “all-windows“ switch. Hazard blinkers can be activated during remote top operation and the top can be controlled via the door handle if the car has the Keyless Go factory option installed. An extended mode can be activated which allows starting or stopping the engine during an ongoing top operation and the entire module can be temporarily disabled while retaining all user configurable settings.

Effective immediately the SmartTOP kit for E-Class convertibles ships with the new plug-and-play wiring adapter at an unchanged retail price of 299 Euros + tax. SmartTOP kits are available for many other Mercedes-Benz models as well as for all of these popular brands: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Mazda, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volvo and VW.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.

SAFE International™ Launches Self Defense For Real Estate Agents in Milwaukee, WI USA

The owners of SAFE International™ have announced they are launching a self defense program which is tailored specifically to the needs of real estate agents. The real estate profession carries with it many potential safety risks, from meeting new prospective clients to conducting open houses and showings.

Lisbon, WI, November 02, 2014 – SAFE International™, which has been in the forefront since 1994 empowering people to save their own lives through the use of self-defense concepts, believes its current focus on empowering people to protecting themselves is needed now more than ever with recent violent events in the real estate profession.

“Unfortunately, we live in an increasingly violent society, and we, here at SAFE International™, want to not only share our knowledge and experience with others, but while in the process of sharing we are also empowering people throughout Canada, the United States, and globally to defend themselves,” said Christopher Roberts, Managing Director of SAFE International™.

Even though their mission at SAFE International™ is to teach real self-defense skills to as many women, children, and men, from 12 years of age to 82 years of age, SAFE International™ does offer corporate self defense courses to those in working environments that are considered higher risk.

Just some of the topics that are addressed during a 2 or 4 hour Real Estate Safety seminar are distraction techniques used on real estate agents, car safety, safety in the home, dangers of letting income rule over intuition, how attackers choose their victims, importance of body language, the good and bad of cell phones, plus much more!

At SAFE International™, they are not offering a martial arts program. Rather, they are offering what they consider to be “a practical and realistic approach to personal safety.”

“What sets our approach to self-defense training apart from all other programs is how we present our courses with real-life simulated scenarios, with hands-on techniques and with humour, yes… humour,” added Roberts, who believes that while the subject matter is a very serious one, SAFE International™ knows that learning in a safe, fun, and enthusiastic environment is the best way to retain what is being presented.

Cyber Security World Conference 2014 to Build on Obama’s Cyber Threat Information Sharing Framework Against Global Hacker Attacks

Building off of the momentum of past successful conferences, Golden Networking presents Cyber Security World Conference 2014 New York City (www.CyberSecurityWorldConference.com), forum that will bring the latest thinking from security experts to hundreds of senior executives focused on protecting enterprises and government’s information assets.

New York City, NY, USA (November 1, 2014) — According to The Hill, the Obama administration’s recently issued cyber threat information sharing framework comes at a time when discussions are heating up in Congress on stalled legislation dealing with cyber security. Why lawmakers and law enforcement officials have been pounding the pavement in recent weeks, declaring that steps to ease the sharing of information about cyber threats are critical for the country’s defenses, will be discussed at Golden Networking’s Cyber Security World Conference 2014 New York City (http://www.CyberSecurityWorldConference.com), unique professional gathering where cybersecurity experts are set to illustrate business on protecting their information from cyber-attacks.

The document fills a gap in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)’s more general cybersecurity framework, released on February 12, 2014. The framework, created through collaboration between industry and government, consists of standards, guidelines, and practices to promote the protection of critical infrastructure. The prioritized, flexible, repeatable, and cost-effective approach of the framework helps owners and operators of critical infrastructure to manage cybersecurity-related risk.

The Department of Homeland Security’s Critical Infrastructure Cyber Community C³ Voluntary Program helps align critical infrastructure owners and operators with existing resources that will assist their efforts to adopt the Cybersecurity Framework and manage their cyber risks. NIST also issued a companion roadmap that discusses NIST’s next steps with the Framework and identifies key areas of cybersecurity development, alignment, and collaboration.

Roadblocks to total implementation still remain though, as both industry and privacy groups have been hesitant to freely share information in the current legal landscape. One bill that would address the legal issues is the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA), but it remains unclear whether the bill could see action in the lame-duck session after the elections, according to The Hill. Absent congressional action, businesses are concerned about whether they will be protected from liability when sharing information with the government. Conversely, privacy advocates are wary of what personal data industries might share with the government, given the surveillance activities that have been revealed at the National Security Agency (NSA).

About Cyber Security World Conference 2014

Cybersecurity is never again a term to ignore for individuals or corporations. The daily activities of all Americans, the country’s global economic prominence and worldwide security rely on a safe and resilient cyberspace. Unfortunately, the number of cyber-attacks has increased dramatically over the last years, exposing confidential personal and business data, disrupting critical operations, and imposing exorbitantly high costs on the economy overall.

Just recently, J.P. Morgan Chase, America’s largest commercial bank with $2.39 trillion in assets, announced that about 76 million households and 7 million of small-business customers had been affected by a cyberattack in one of the most sweeping known global breaches. The company said the unknown attackers stole customers’ contact information, which included names, email addresses, numbers and addresses, affected an amount equivalent to almost two-thirds of American households.

A brief walk down memory lane of some the biggest recent cyber-attacks now include Adobe Systems, Automated Data Processing, Citigroup, E*Trade Financial, Fidelity Investments, Home Depot, HSBC, Nasdaq OMX, Neiman Marcus, Target and Wal-mart. It is not unlikely to consider that the information of every American has already been compromised in any of these publicly disclosed attacks.

Renowned information security experts and innovative service providers will present at Cyber Security World Conference 2014 their latest thinking to hundreds of senior executives focused on protecting enterprises and governmental agencies. Topics that will be discussed include:

• Is Biometrics the Key to Personal and Corporate Security?
• Strengthening the Security of Industry-wide Technology Infrastructure
• Cyber Security Megatrends Security Professionals can’t Ignore Today
• Key Considerations about Security in the Internet of Things Age
• Cyber Security and its Role in the Overall Security of the United States
• How Hackers Really Operate to Obtain Financial Data
• Designing and Managing Effective Information Security Programs

Cyber Security World Conference 2014 is produced by Golden Networking, the premier networking community for business and technology executives, entrepreneurs and investors. Panelists, speakers and sponsors are invited to contact Golden Networking by sending an email to information@goldennetworking.com.
