Georgetown, Texas, USA (July 26, 2013) — Join author Jane Thompson as she learns about the value of support for those who suffer from bipolar disorder in her new novel, Flying Buttresses: A Novel of Bipolar Disorder (now available through Amazon and Kindle).

My new book, Flying Buttresses, (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Flying-Buttresses-Novel-Bipolar-Disorder/dp/1490334254) is not about the support offered Gothic Cathedrals, but about a support group formed by six people with bipolar disorder, people in varying degrees of wellness and abilities to function. This book is the story of how they helped-and didn’t help each other, how they encouraged each other and how they worked to promote stability for each member. Each of them has a story, and each story is fascinating.

Meet Missy, who tries to damp her mania with vodka with no success. And Carleton, who stays on his lithium but finds that mania invariably creeps up on him anyway. Jackie, an attractive blond, has lost custody of her child because of her illness, and has to fight to get him back. Suzy is obsessed with a rock star and can’t get him out of her mind. Abby has fallen in love with a married man and can’t get up. Marie has lost her job and is trying to find her balance. See how these people, all with the same disorder, come together to try to mitigate the damages of the illness and to reach stability through therapy and medication.

They support each other through the search for the proper medications, though it is difficult for each individual to find the right ones for them. Their senses of humor and outlooks on life help each of them to life with the difficulties of living with the pain of mental illness.

The book is meant to be diverting and to tell a story, but also to educate people as to how the disorder works and the means of combatting it. It is meant for those suffering from the disorder and friends and family of those who have the illness.

How I Fell in Love Online Keynotes Dating Expo

Dating websites, Keynote Address, and Dance Party are featured at the Online Dating Expo, September 7, 2013, at the DoubleTree Hotel San Francisco Airport.

SAN RAFAEL, CA, USA (July 25, 2013) — Contact: Tom Andrews, 415-507-9962

John and Loretta Gavin, creators of the new book Online Dating S*cks…but it’s how I fell in love, will keynote the Online Dating Expo, Saturday, September 7, 2013, 7pm-Midnight, at the DoubleTree Hotel San Francisco Airport, 835 Airport Blvd, Burlingame CA.

“One of the biggest mistakes in online dating is having s*x too early,” say The Gavins, (who barely avoided the mistake themselves). “Online dating makes getting dates EASIER, but falling in love HARDER. Among guys the ease of arranging dates online creates the mindset of ‘Next…always next.’ It then becomes difficult for men to be fully ‘present’ during any one date because of anticipation of dates to come. Men fall into the trap of making their goal to find dates rather than to find the right partner. As a result, women feel pressured to have s*x too early in the relationship, because they know this guy in front of them is likely dating other women as well. The result is lots of dates, but very few lasting relationships.

“It’s important to find out if this person you’re considering being intimate with is a good match for you,” say The Gavins. “If you don’t find out who they are, and if they’re right for you, before parting the sheets-it can be too late afterwards. The point of online dating should be to find your LAST first date rather than your NEXT one.”

John & Loretta Gavin, who recently married, are available to the news media for interviews by calling 209-202-4970. Their website is http://www.onlinedatingsucksbook.com.

The Online Dating Expo begins at 7pm with exhibits of leading dating websites. At 7:30pm, representatives of these websites will give a quick overview of the options they provide. The Keynote Address is at 8pm, followed by a Dance Party until midnight.

The Expo is co-sponsored by The International Association of Dating Websites, a non-profit trade association for the online dating industry, at iadw.org; The Society of Single Professionals, the world’s largest non-profit singles organization; and by numerous dating websites. Adults of all ages are welcome. The cost is $20 at the door. Anyone wishing more information may visit http://www.thepartyhotline.com or call 415-507-9962.

Co-sponsor ‘Jaguar’ to showcase latest luxury models at the Festival and Luxury Art Auction.

Bangalore, India, July 19, 2013 — Art Bengaluru needs no introduction. What was started in 2010 as an attempt to increase art awareness in the city, has today grown into a much-awaited international art festival that has carved a niche for Bangalore on the global art map.

The 4th Edition of Art Bengaluru presented by The Collection, UB City in association with Sublime Galleria and Art Chutney will take place at The Collection, UB City. It promises to be a week-long extravaganza from 16th to 23rd of August, 2013. ‘Art Bengaluru 2013’ will bring together the best art galleries from across India as well as the rest of the world. Surpassing the magnificence of the previous editions of Art Bengaluru, this year will showcase the works of over 100 international and national artists from across 15 galleries on one common platform.

Ms. Uzma Irfan – Co-Founder, ‘Art Bengaluru’ and Founder, Sublime Galleria said, “This year’s theme for the festival is ‘Reflections’. Keeping with the theme the art festival will include all forms of art that are a reflection of our being and a portrayal of our emotions, be it joy, sorrow, turmoil, anger, etc. ‘Art Bengaluru 2013’ will have all the usual trademarks that have made it the landmark event, it is today. A grand opening night, national and international artists and art galleries, a residential art conclave and of course, the much-anticipated Luxury Art Auction as its culmination.”

The grand Inaugural Night will be on 16th August, 2013 and will showcase an artwork created by celebrated artist and Padmashree Awardee, Thota Tharrani. Sri Tharrani is working on the centre-piece exclusively for this event, to portray the theme of ‘Reflections’. He is an integral part of this festival, and will be present at the Opening Night. The evening will also feature Body Art Dancers as yet another reinforcement of the theme.

Highlights of the Festival:
Berserk:
Another major attraction of ‘Art Bengaluru 2013’ will be the introduction of ‘Berserk’, an Art Conference to promote and encourage creative awareness among children. This event by Sublime Galleria, will shortlist 60 children from 15 Bangalore Schools that encourage art in its multiple forms. Berserk 2013 is a 3-day residential conference for children between the age group of 8-12 years. Categorized under four key art verticals – Theatre, Dance, Music and Visual Art, Sublime has brought the best in the industry to mentor and guide these children. The expert mentors will be Jagriti for Theatre, Lourd Vijay Dance Studio for Dance, Taaqademy for Music and 3 Peel for Visual Art. Selected children of different verticals will receive trust funds and endorsements ranging from intensive training programs to working on productions under expert guidance. The endorsements are custom-designed by each of the vertical heads.

Luxury Art Auction:
Art Bengaluru always starts with a bang and ends with an even bigger one! This is because the festival culminates with the Luxury Art Auction, one of the most-awaited events of the year for serious art collectors. The Art Auction will take place on 23rd August, 2013 at ITC Windsor and to give it a truly international feel, the auction this year will be hosted by renowned London-based auctioneer, Bob Hayton. The magnitude of the event can be gauged by the fact that there will be up to 100 lots on auction this year. Last year’s auction included the works of celebrated artists like Abanindranath Tagore, Gaganendranath Tagore, Jamini Roy, Sailoz Mookherjea, Nandalal Bose, K.H. Ara, S.K. Bakre, H.A. Gade, M.F. Art Bengaluru was first launched in March 2010, and after three successful editions, the event this year promises to be a bigger and more diverse ‘Reflection’ of everything that art mirrors!

The venue for Art Bengaluru is the highly-acclaimed, The Collection, UB City which is conveniently located in the heart of cosmopolitan Bangalore.
