Varsity Tutors Reveals the Real Cost of College in New Infographic

Resource Helps Parents & Students Better Understand the Breakdown of College Expenses and Make Informed Decisions

St. Louis, MO, April 06, 2013 – To empower parents and students during the college planning process, Varsity Tutors, a premier one-on-one academic tutoring and test prep provider, today released an infographic that highlights all the costs of pursuing higher education. Entitled, “The Real Cost of College,” the infographic breaks down the average estimated costs for enrollment, sources of financial aid and debt averages for full-time undergraduate students.

Student debt surpassed credit card debt in the United States for the first time in 2010. In 2012, the average college student left school owing $27,000 in student loans. These are just a few statistics that emphasize how important it is to understand all the expenses of college and identify potential funding opportunities while planning a student’s path to higher education.

“Now more than ever, it’s crucial that parents and students are aware of the total cost of a degree,” said Varsity Tutors founder and CEO Chuck Cohn. “As the cost of tuition continues to rise, students need to be vigilant about planning ahead and finding the best options for funding their education, not only to attend college in the first place, but also to graduate with an amount of debt they can manage.”

The infographic features key findings from the College Board Annual Survey of Colleges, including these telling statistics:

* The total annual expense of attending an in-state public four-year institution – tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, transportation and other expenses – averages $22,261; while an out-of-state four-year public institution averages $35,312 and a private non-profit college or university averages $43,289 each year.

* $237 billion in financial aid was given during the 2012-13 school year; the average student received $13,218 in financial aid.

* 67 percent of 2009 college graduates are in debt with student loans.

The infographic also highlights the different types of financial aid available to students, from grants and scholarships to loans and work study programs. In its continued effort to help students achieve academic excellence, Varsity Tutors recently launched a college scholarship program. The monthly merit-based scholarship, open to U.S. residents ages 16 and older, provides students with the opportunity to earn $1,000 toward their college tuition. The current submission period began on April 1st and will close on April 15th.

IAPAM Announces Next Date for Physician hCG Training: May 3, 2013

Join the IAPAM for its next hCG Training session of the new year, on May 3, 2013, and offer hCG for Weight Loss to your patients.

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – April 6, 2013 — In an article in Medical Economics, it was reported that, “the United States has a weight problem, and physicians are being called on to adapt their practices to confront it.” The IAPAM is helping physicians “adapt their practices” to capture this weight loss market, by offering their physician-led hCG Training in Scottsdale, Arizona on May 3, 2013. Physicians will learn and receive everything they need to start safely and profitably offering hCG for weight loss to their patients as they start the new year.

In an article in Medical Economics, it was reported that, “according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2010, more than 78 million U.S. adults…..were obese.” To combat this growing obesity epidemic, the IAPAM (http://www.iapam.com) has trained over 900 physicians on how to effectively offer hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin) for “substantial early weight loss” to their patients. To date, well over 35,000 patients have successfully lost weight on hCG using the IAPAM’s Exclusive hCG Diet (http://www.hcgtraining.com), based on Dr. Simeons manuscript, Pounds and Inches (http://www.iapam.com/dr-simeons-pounds-and-inches-manuscript.html).

Join the IAPAM for its next hCG Training session of the new year, on May 3, 2013, and offer hCG for Weight Loss to your patients.

The NEW Clean Start hCG Weight Loss patient package is designed to assist physicians in helping their obese and overweight patients realize their weight loss goals. It is a comprehensive and complete weight loss program that includes:

– Patient education DVD, that gives your patients an overview of the entire program, and answers the most common questions.
– Patient Guidebook, that explains the program in detail, including over 50 program tips, as well as over 20 pages on the all important “maintenance” phase of the program. It includes information on: portion size, the Glycemic Index, how to read a nutritional label, tips on how to combat emotional eating and cravings.
– Quick Tip Sheets giving your patient the most important tips and a take-away shopping list complete with calorie counts.
– Cookbook with over 50 recipes for all 3 phases of the weight loss program.
– Food Journal for your patients to record their daily food intake.

This program was designed to answer the most common questions, saving physicians time, allowing them to see more patients, and generate more non-insurance based practice revenues.

What revenues can you expect to see by offering the IAPAM’s Clean Start Weight Loss program?

– See 10 weight loss patients/month = $176,000+/yr
– See 20 weight loss patients/month = $352,000+/yr
– See 30 weight loss patients/month = $529,000+/yr

With more than 60% of Americans overweight or obese, seeing 30 patients a month should not be a problem for most practices! The IAPAM’s new hCG Training video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-YGEQ0t0yw) outlines the IAPAM’s New Clean Start hCG Weight Loss program.

About Incubation Station
Incubation Station is an accelerator for market-validated CPG (consumer product goods) companies. We give entrepreneurs access to vital resources needed to succeed, including dedicated mentorship from industry experts and entrepreneurs, as well as the education, connections and growth funding required for companies to achieve optimal success through rapid and sustainable growth.

Our goal is to make Austin “the place for consumer product companies” by educating and connecting entrepreneurs who want to effectively start-up and compete in this market. Select portfolio companies profiles follow.

Austin EastCiders
We use antique cider apple varieties, high in tannins and acids, to produce flavors that have not been widely experienced in America since Prohibition. These are the apples from which hard cider was traditionally made. During Prohibition many cider apple orchards were destroyed, meaning cider has since been made with eating apples. We use real cider apples, we use the wild yeasts in the apples for a natural fermentation and we add nothing which isn’t present naturally in the fruit, no concentrate, no colorings and no artificial sweeteners.

World Peas
World Peas are natural GMO-free green peas flavored with all natural ingredients (no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners). They’re not your average “wasabi pea” – they’re available in 7 unique and delicious flavors. They’re great for snacking as they are trans fat and cholesterol free, and rich in protein. World Peas are lower in fat and calories than average potato chip (1 serving is only 105 calories and 2g fat).

World Peas are not just for snacking. You can also use them in salads and soups or crush them up for a flavorful topping. Let us know your favorite use for World Peas!

GoodSeed Burgers
Goodseed Burgers are gourmet veggie burgers hand crafted with pure sourced ingredients in Austin, Texas. Our burgers are properly prepared using soaked and sprouted grains and lentils. All of our patties are nutrient dense and mineral rich, made with superfoods, seeds, veggies, and grains. They are also vegan, GMO free, soy free, wheat free, and nut free.

Sanderson Foods
Texas-Texas brand Salsas has become one the biggest and most popular regional brands of salsa in Texas. Our salsas can be found at almost every grocery retail chain such as H.E.B, Kroger, Wal-Mart, Super Target, Randall’s, Tom Thumb, Central Market, Whole Foods-SW Region, United, Brookshire’s Grocery and Brookshire Brothers. We’ve also branched out into multiple states in Wal-Mart stores such as OK, LA, AR, NE, KS, MO, and can be found on the east coast in The Fresh Market stores.

Thunderbird Energetica
Thunderbird Energetica specializes in creating epic tasting whole food energy bars. Containing uniquely pure and highly powerful ingredients, Thunderbird bars provide consumers with conveniently packaged, nutrient dense, plant-based goodness. Each bar is meticulously handmade using the ?nest and freshest available whole foods that Mother Earth has to offer. Our 100% soy free, dairy free, gluten free, no added sugar energy bars gives you the same clean burning fuel humans have enjoyed over the last 10,000 years. Our wrapper is 100% biodegradable and compostable leaving nothing behind.

Criquet
As children, Billy Nachman and Hobson Brown began their lifelong journey to find the perfect shirt. Over the years, the two sampled polos of all shapes and sizes: baggy, fitted, emblem/no emblem, collar up, even a brief flirtation with the cringe-worthy double-layered. Throughout this odyssey, there were some constants- perfectly worn hand-me-downs and thrift store treasures. There were the golf shirts Billy’s grandfather wore in the 70s; a great polo Hobson picked up on vacation that cannot be found anywhere since in the continental United States. Tapping Billy’s architecture background and Hobson’s creative wizardry, the pair set off to design a vintage-inspired shirt, combining old-school preppy with a splash of hipster that would put an end to their ongoing search, while also aligning with a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Raven + Lily
Raven + Lily is a socially responsible brand dedicated to empowering women through design partnerships and sustainable economic opportunities. Founded by K irsten Dickerson and Sophia Lin, Raven + Lily helps employ marginalized women in Africa, India, Cambodia and the United States at fair trade wages to provide access to safe working environments, sustainable income, healthcare, education, and a real chance to break the cycle of poverty. Every product from Raven + Lily is handmade, fair trade and eco-friendly.

Verb
Verb was born at Birds Barbershop, the award-winning salons that look and feel nothing like typical salons in Texas’ capital city. Affordable, professional-quality unisex haircuts was what Birds did best, but nobody wanted the expensive hair product on the shelves. Customers still wanted to look good – they just didn’t want to pay as much as their haircut to do so. We went looking for something that cost less, but maintained quality. A product focused on quality over frills, like Birds was. They never found one and created Verb, with everything in the line retail priced at $12. The right price – the honest price for everything you want, and all you don’t.

Dude Wipes
Dude Products, Inc. was originally founded by a long time group of Dudes in Chicago, IL. Together we decided to change the way guys go to the bathroom and engineered our first product, The Award Winning Dude Wipes®. A blunt, entertaining and complement to toilet paper.

Primizie Snacks – The basis for our crispbreads was discovered in Italy while traveling on a culinary tour through the country. The bread recipe was re-developed and became the cornerstone to our menus for Neapolitan pizzas, paninis and antipasto platters. We then discovered that when these breads were “crisped” they served as an even better vehicle for passed hors d’ Oeuvres, as bruschetta for antipasti and had superior “dipability” characteristics for cheeses and hearty dips. Primizie Crispbreads became an instant favorite to all we served.
